If Peyton Manning were putting up #s like Brady this year.. (1 Viewer)

Some would be throwing around comments like Best QB of all time.. or at the very least..Best QB in the NFL right now. How come no one says this when Brady puts up those numbers?

Amazing what happens when you get some decent receivers around you.

Both Peyton and Brady look to be two of the greatest to ever play the position. Stop fighting over which one is better and enjoy the fact we're watching legends in the prime of their phenomonal careers.

People ARE saying that about Brady. And it was being said well before this season, as well. Gotta love Pats fans. Nobody plays the "we get no respect" card more inappropriately.

Because Brady has been a better QB than Manning for years now. This year hasn't changed anything.

Best ever QB.

Best ever coach.

Best ever team.

Its been said over and over for almost two weeks now.

And how about this gem... "imagine if they had a defense".

What was it? Whiny rakes? Whiny hammers? Something along those lines...

I don't know anyone who doesn't think Manning and Brady are just right about the same level. Brady has the rings. Manning (up till this year) has had him on stats. Both are two of two of the best ever. That's mostly all I hear and I think it's a no brainer to think that.:shock:J

Do we still have that poll for worst thread? This takes the cake.

 The only item up for debate is Manning/Brady vs. Marino/Montana in terms of best two QBs of ANY era.

over/under on the pages of this thread for me is 6

Pats fans just can't be content with having a great team....they have to shove it in your face and bully you.

except Elway was better than Marino.
OK, it's up for debate but let's say you're right:Brady/Manning vs. Elway/Montana?Either way, it's a very tough call, no?
He is right. And I'd put Montana in an era earlier than Elway/Marino/Kelly/Esiason even though he overlapped their years by a bit

Well the whiners sure are coming out in this thread and they aren't the Pats fans.

You say shove it in your face? Ha.

You know what I got tired of hearing all these years? That Manning was a better QB just because his fantasy stats were better. That he was a better QB because he had super weapons in Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne to throw to and a Hall of Fame RB to hand off to.

I thought that got kind of old too.

Enjoy this Brady season, it is a special one. Give the man his props because he is way overdue.

Montana and Elways PRIME years overlapped though. Similar to Brady and Manning, even though Manning was a starter for a bunch of years before Brady came in.

Don't be an idiot. Quit whining Brady isn't getting the respect he deserves. What's with the inferiority complex? People recognize the fact Brady is great. People also recognize the fact Boston fans are clueless as to the meaning of the word humility. Congratulations, you're a classless tool. It's a shame Tom Brady ended up in your neck of the woods. Quite frankly, you guys don't deserve him.

peyton: wont throw for TDs when up by 2 scores with 2 minutes in the game
No he does it when they're up 2 scores w/ 15 seconds left in the game. All he cares about is the stats on his sheet and the number of commercials he can get.

Tom will hand the ball off to his RB when on the one yard line.
Have you been watching any games this year? :goodposting:
Most of Brady's passing touchdowns have been long. When Manning broke the record they had 10 rushing touchdowns and right now the Pats have 5. Manning regularly called his own number inside the 5 during 2004. Nothing wrong with that since he scored but I think the Pats run the ball more when they get close.

Head in the sand? People are saying that.
I'm not hearing this buzz out there. Not like when Manning does it.
I'm beginning to come around on why people hate Patriot fans.
It's Boston. They are the same way about the Red Sox.
Since this is about the five hundredth time I've heard this, I believe you. But because I generally like the Red Sox players themselves, it's disheartening to think that this may actually be true.

Classless tool, ha. Good stuff, keep it coming.Humility? I don't get it. What do you say to the people that say Manning is the greatest of all time? Do you call them classless tools as well.

When Manning broke the record Edge sucked at goal line carries. Since running wasn't working, they started passing. Since passing was working, why would they change?

Alright, here are ALL of the 4th quarter TDs this year for Brady thru 6 games. All FOUR of them.

wk 3 vs. Buf 10:22 left in the game

wk 4 @ Cin 3:18

wk 5 vs. Cleve 9:40

wk 6 @ Dal 12:21

So, there's the raw data. He's thrown ONE TD close to the 2 minute mark, and that was on the road against the Bengals, who as everyone knows can strike in a hurry, capping an 85yd drive that lasted nearly 6 minutes. It was a 14 yarder to Moss. No denying he must have had record books on his mind on that throw.

There's a difference between what you're doing and what most Manning supporters are doing. For your sake, I hope you someday realize that difference as I highly doubt this is the only area in your life that you're lacking tact.Best of luck, I wish you well.

Like I said theres nothing wrong with it. Previous poster was infering that Brady's been throwing on the goal line like Peyton did that year and I don't think he has. That said it would be impressive if Brady broke the record and the Pats scored a larger amount of rushing touchdowns.

An effective running game makes it easier to throw TDs. However, it would definitely be a tribute to how good this TEAM is this year if Brady broke the record and the Pats scored a larger amount of rushing touchdowns.

Brady has been great this season and I think Brady is one of the best QB's to play the game. But can we wait until the season is over to discuss this. I mean he has played 6 games so far this season against the power house defenses of:

Clevland giving up 30.5 points per game... 3rd Worst

NYJ giving up 25.7 points per game ...6th worst

Cin giving up 31.2 points per game... WORST IN THE LEAGUE

Buff giving up 23. 6 points per game ....12th in the league

Dal giving up 24 points per game...11 th in the league

SD giving up 19.8 points per game (NE got them in their slump) 18 th in the leauge.

I know you have to play the schedule, but so far this has been extremely offensive friendly!

Alright. You win. Brady's a worthless, record-chasing scumbag. :goodposting:

Most annoying fans around. Always whimpering about how they get no respect and nobody likes them. It's a wonder why. I mean, how self-absorbed do you have to be to whine about Brady not getting enough respect when it's been a talking point about him being, perhaps, the best ever.Good grief you people are nuts.

it would probably be easier to give a great team and player (brady) their props if their fanbase wasn't such a bunch of whiney d*uchebags.

if you wanna hear a bunch of talking heads suck off the north east sports teams, then just turn on the four letter network, they've got it down to an art
