If the Titans Sign Michael Turner (1 Viewer)

Just curious what would happen if the Titans bring Michael Turner into the fold. That is an obvious sign that they have lost faith in Lendale and plan on using Turner as the feature back for the forseeable future. As a dynasty owner of both Lendale and Turner, and an avid Bills fan, I am obviously hoping Marv Levy ponies up and gives SD something worthwhile for Turner. But if for whatever reason they don't, and Turner ends up in Tennessee, what becomes of Lendale? I've half jokingly suggested the Bills should wait for the titans to trade for Turner, then offer up a fourth round pick for White. Does anyone see Tennessee giving up on Lendale if/when turner goes there?

I cannot see it. I think they would keep/use both RBs. It is not as though they have much RB depth.

chow used white a lot in RBBC with bush at USC... though it isn't obvious turner has a different skill set from white, like bush at USC, where they were very complementary...

I cannot see that Titans giving up on White before his second season. Add in the depth or lack thereof at RB on that team and it appears my favorite fatman is safe for 2007.

i cant see another team wanting white
Maybe they can trade him to Detroit for Mike Williams. ;) Turner 70%, Eric Cartman 20%, other 10%

I never noticed it before, but can you tell who's who?

Career rushes:

Turner 157 in 3 years

White 61 in 1 year

I'd think they'd need both to see if they can equal 1 regular rusher's season.

IF Turner ended up in Tenn, I think it would be an open competition for the starting gig and would likely be a full-fledged RBBC.

Ummm, why? They have NOTHING behind White now and White is still largly unproven.... so is Turner. Tenn would be wise to bring in another talanted RB no matter how you slice it. Even if White had 1000 yds rushing last year. Only problem is, SD has totally overvalued Turner in their own minds to make dealing Turner a possiblity IMO.

If Turner ends up in TN, the #1 job would be his to lose (which I hear is option #1 over Dillon right now if the price can be reasonable). They simply would be paying too much for Turner to sit or RBBC. There most likely would be a split: Probably somewhere in the 80/20 range. As for the trade, that will not happen as his value has diminished even further from the day they drove him off the lot...

this is all logical, makes a lot of sense, & is probably right...but in instance of NO, they got bush & paid him a lot, knowing he would probably be a RB2 effectively, at least for a couple of years... maybe they were planning ahead for more distant future...there are a couple way this maybe isn't good attempted parallel... as alluded to above, bush at least had a diferent enough skill set that selection could be justified by being able to deploy him in complementary way (as WR, out of backfield at same time as deuce, etc.)...also, that was case of bringing in a younger guy to augment older guy (also coming off knee surgery)... in this case, turner seemingly has similar skill set (maybe faster, but a power back not known for his hands)... also, turner is OLDER than white (though not old)...it may be a fair comparison in that bush was paid a lot, after deuce already had been, knowing they would share duties to an extent... so it is possible that turner could be paid a lot & not get 80% of carries...one reason that bush was taken by saints, though it wasn't an obviously huge need, was due to his immense talent... he was almost too good to pass up... maybe the team views turner as a great talent that can help the team and is underappreciated... that might not preclude white being used, too...i guess a lot of this will ultimately play out based on how good turner really is... if he is an LT-type talent, i wouldn't play white too much if i had an LT talent to feed the ball... if he is a chester taylor-type (i think he is better than that), that scenario could yield more carries for white in the balance & final mix... if somewhere in between... another outcome?VY had a sensational rookie year, but there are still some questions about whether he will ever be an elway type of passer (very few remaining about his transition from college to pro as a RUNNER  )... there remains the possibility that they want to take pressure off their young signal caller by running A LOT... & running WELL... there is a possibility that turner & white could both figure in such a plan...
