If you were allowed only 1 keeper in a 12 team ppr league where you can keep the player forever with no penalty, who would it be??

If that player retires or quits or just falls off the map, do you get no keeper at all while others who picked somebody with more longevity continue to enjoy theirs?

Each year you can pick a different keeper if you want.   This is the first year we are doing a keeper, so I was wondering who people would take as their keeper if they could pick anyone as the number 1 overall pick.

Beckham or Brown would be the obvious choices in ppr.  And imo in standard as well.

Depends on the league/team structure. Without knowing that stuff, generally I'd say AB, OBJ, or TG3, in that order, leaning towards the first two unless there was a compelling reason to go with a running back.

Pretty much just want the highest rated redraft player.  It would be nice to get a young player but you are going to be drafting other guys this year who you might keep instead.  

Only caveat is if you're allowed to trade keepers - like if you owned gurley and obj you could keep obj and trade gurley and your second to a guy with a crap keeper for his first, and still keep obj.  In that kind of league give me the best and youngest receiver, and hopefully i can just keep racking up extra draft picks year after year.

I'm in a one player keeper league and I just think of it as a redraft league.   With only one keeper there is really no need to overthink it - treat it like a redraft and then just keep your best player each year.

Yep.  AB is the most valuable player in the league for a contender.  OBJ is the most valuable for a builder, arguably for a contender.
