In honor of pride month, let’s get real (1 Viewer)

American Thinker is extremely right wing bias with low factual reporting. Take it for what its worth.

American Thinker -  questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency, and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact-checked on a per-article basis. Please note sources on this list are not considered fake news unless specifically written in the reasoning section for that source. See all Questionable sources.

Overall, we rate the American Thinker, Questionable based on extreme right-wing bias, promotion of conspiracy theories/pseudoscience, use of poor sources, and several failed fact checks.

"American Thinker" is a misnomer.

This is probably the most homophobic article ever linked to in these forums (and it is not even close)
You posted this within 5 minutes if the OP.  Not even enough time to read it, but apparently enough to bash it?  Not defending the article, but I haven’t read it yet.

5 minutes is way more than enough time to read the article linked.  I just read it.  In short, "LGBT bad!"

I don't understand pride month

If the goal is to be treated equally .... then why the need to stand out and bring attention and ask for special treatment?  that's not equal or fair - just an odd thing to me

I ignore all of it I can, I figure my sexual preferences and lifestyle choices aint celebrated by anybody so ....

I read the first few paragraphs of this dreadful uniformed and ignorant homophobic rant and that was enough (I think I stopped at the point where the author claimed that it was Democrats who blamed the AIDS epidemic on gay men in the 80s. 😲

“Back in the 1980s, despite the Democrat effort to frighten all Americans about AIDS, it was a disease that appeared primarily among gay men and IV drug addicts.”

Not sure that says what you think it says.

I would guess you are not a big fan of Black History Month either.

And LGBTQ folks are asking for equal treatment. Not being discriminated against is not asking for "special treatment"

Please stop posting from ridiculous propaganda sources  like this garbage website.

Now i get to the point where im detransitioned and the realisation that this is permanent is catching up with me. During transition, I was obsessive and deeply unwell, I cannot believe they were allowed to do this to me, even after all the red flags.

I wasn't even asked if I wanted to freeze sperm or want kids. In my obsessive, deeply unwell state they just nodded along and didnt tell me the realities, what life would be like.

This is an account about someone discussing their "transition" and the physical pain and complications arising from it.

This is someone now part of the LGBT community.

DID YOU REALIZE BY TRYING TO SILENCE THEIR VIEWPOINT ABOUT THEIR PAIN, YOU ARE NOW, ACCORDING TO THE STANDARDS OF THE LEFT AND MOST ELEMENTS OF THE CURRENT DEMOCRATIC PARTY, TO BE BEHAVING IN A MANNER THAT IS CONSIDERED OPEN BIGOTRY?

In order to fulfill your hardened political tribalism, you want silence when someone in the LGBT community speaks out about their experiences when it doesn't line up to your personal political agenda. Do you understand how much bigotry that displays?

“Back in the 1980s, despite the Democrat effort to frighten all Americans about AIDS, it was a disease that appeared primarily among gay men and IV drug addicts.”

Not sure that says what you think it says.
Why bother with anything from an extreme right-wing, low credibility site that has an anti-LGBTQ agenda? There rate about the worst you can get for any informational site.

OK, I stand corrected.

But it is inaccurate to say that the Democrats were trying to frighten all Americans about AIDS. Please. They were trying to get people to take the epidemic seriously, which Republicans didn't during the first half of the 80s.

"Corporations want you to know that they’re on board with Pride, and we get it in every social media post, every advertisement, every TV commercial, and every store display."

But as I'm reading this trope, there's a cute commercial with puppies that need to be adopted (theshelterproject.org) playing beside the text.  Since it must be Pride related, are these gay puppies?  Transitioning puppies?  Whatever, they must be bad dogs.

I wonder why we havent included in sex ed classes the issues men face regarding gay sex.

I do think it is important to teach not just abstinence only and actually inform kids about the risks involved.

If we spend too much time focused on pregnancy we are not providing equal time to marginalized communities.

Seeing as STDs have a disproportionate effect on the black community it is actually racist to not spend more time on these topics.

"I’m not trying to be homophobic." :oldunsure:

.....It's a pretty quick read. Also disgusting and hateful

Then theres the act of going to the toilet. It takes me about 10 minutes to empty my bladder, it's extremely slow, painful and because it dribbles no matter how much i relax, it will then just go all over that entire area, leaving me soaken.

So after cleaning myself up, I will find moments later that my underwear is wet - no matter how much I wiped, it slowly drips out for the best part of an hour. I never knew at 35 I ran the risk like smelling like piss everywhere I went.

Why should the discussion of those who transition only cover those who are "happy" about their decision?

What is the problem with ALL PERSPECTIVES regarding that decision?

Part of the issue here is if children and minors, who are being exposed to the idea of transitioning more and more in current American society, have the capability to understand the actual risks and complications of that kind of decision. And if they are being informed at all. And whether they should be allowed to make that kind of decision for themselves in any fashions, since in the eyes of the law, they have not yet reached an age of majority.

( Point to note to all the radical lefty lawyers in the PSF, once I bring up the issue of the "age of majority", this now enters into a complex legal discussion. Ask yourselves if you can legally justify your positions or if the hard push to attempt to have children transition can be legally justified. This is the trigger point in the Woman's Health Protection Act that Team Blue failed to get passed. It tried to remove parental consent/parental notification regarding minors and abortions to attempt to ease in future law regarding transitioning and minors. Make no mistake, up to 79 percent of the LGBT community votes for the Democratic Party and they have a 93 percent turnout rate from registrations. This is clearly about building a legacy voter base and using the Big Education system to do it. )

What is the problem with those who are thinking about transitioning considering the issue of complications of simply going to the bathroom?

What is so offensive about that?

Your position is open bigotry. This person is a member of the current LGBT community. You want them silenced. You want discussion of their issues silenced. You are doing it for clearly partisan reasons and for your political tribalism as you offer no context as to why this person's experience should be considered homophobic at all.

Your behavior is cheap, dirty and low value posting. I don't care if you hit the Report Button. Game it, try it, see if your behavior will survive your own purity test here.

I have zero problem calling your behavior here as open bigotry. When you behave like a bigot, that means many people will see you as a bigot.

That's all you've managed to achieve here today.

People are having a hissy fit in another thread over a cross dresser reading The Rainbow Fish to some kids and now you are suggesting they should be given information about gay sexual acts.

Typical sea lion behavior and source police shenanigans.  I wish people could be better.
All I ask is that you don't use garbage websites that spread demonstrably false information.

It's like using Donald Trump as a source on election security.

Your inability to follow your own advice to "be better" is a joke.

You.... and the OP of this thread...please... be better.

Its weird how many times you have mentioned that book.

Its also weird that you immediately associate sex ed with young kids.

I think the kids being taught sex ed are a lot older than the kids being read the rainbow fish. At least I hope so.

Also please dont conflate cross dressing with drag queens. Those are very different things and it is offensive to the parties involved that you are taking away from their identities by mixing them up.

Stop pushing this lifestyle on children in our schools and society in general and I won’t have to post truth bombs. Did you even read the transgender guy’# agonizing experience with the LGBTQ religion that was spoon fed to him as a child? Then Dr.s went in and made a fortune on his problems Turning him in to the mutilated  disaster he admits they helped him become when he was too mentally Ill to make good choices. Please stop this insanity.

People are having a “hissy fit” because drag queens were reading books to kids as young as 4, without parental notification.  I don’t think he was suggesting teaching gay sex to 4 year olds (isn’t sex Ed middle and high school), or doing so without parental permission (as far as I know parents can opt kids out of sex education).

I consider your "Source Policing" here to be extremely biased. Also a consistent promotion of propaganda built around silencing any dissent and any practical discussion because you are somehow "offended"

Are you "offended"?

Just because you are offended, it doesn't mean you are right. It also doesn't mean you are entitled to trying to silence viewpoints that don't fit your personal political tribalism.

You want to shut down discussion of the long term experiences of someone who has transitioned. Someone who is LGBT. Do you realize your position without any context and without any tolerance are the most Anti-LGBT statements in this entire thread?

Stop pushing this lifestyle on children
I’m not pushing anything. That is your victimhood fantasy as you battle an imaginary Culture War.

You post LIE bombs.

You are performing a disservice to accurate information.

You are part of the problem.

Please, make some small effort to be better.

Please.

I am not one who did that.

And people in the other thread have been saying that reading a book like The Rainbow Fish by a cross dresser is informing the kids about a gay sexual lifestyle.

Tell it to the guy who can’t feel his genitals and smells like piss everywhere he goes. He has been abused by this religion being pushed in schools all the way down to pre-k. Child abuse sucks.

Honest question, but what’s “demonstrably false” in the article.  Granted it’s in horrible taste, obviously has an agenda and obviously is from someone on one end of the political spectrum - but what from the article is “demonstrably false”?  I’ve read it twice now and really the only thing that jumps out to me is the list of links that state same sex couples have a higher tendency of certain things (I’m not sure if those situations are more or less prevalent in same or opposite sex couple).

My son had a social studies test. One of the definitions was Nationalism- Pride in one's country. My son "Doesnt Pride mean gay?"

From your comments so far I am not surprised at that statement.

Just from the 2nd paragraph of the article:

the entire entertainment world; libraries; cities and towns; and the Democrat political class—are all making a major effort to push children into embracing the LGBTQ+++ life

No one is pushing children into "embracing" the LGBTQ+ lifestyle. Please. That is demonstrably false.

It's crazy to see the Liberal Dogma just override rational thinking and questions.

Goes to show you how much indoctrination has been going on over the last couple decades.  Bill Maher is spot on with this, as is the American Thinker. We should not be celebrating the LGBTQ lifestyle as that is not standard in nature.  They are anomalies and the fact that this community is doubling in size (per Maher) shows that this is becoming learned behavior - it's NOT a product of nature for a good portion. This is the result of the indoctrination mentioned previously.

We should not be giving them any days, TBH, much less an entire month.  Or maybe someone can point to me the Official Heterosexual Month?  Maybe I missed it.

He uses the site because its one sided propaganda designed to elicit an emotional response. I won't be drawn into that, and you shouldn't either.

https://alto.com/blog/post/transgender-hormone-therapy-side-effects

"Men given estrogen, in addition to getting the breasts they desire, can lose muscle, bone mass, hair, and the sex drive. They can also get deadly blood clots in their deep veins or lungs, increased triglycerides, weight gain, high potassium, high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, breast cancer, heart disease, and strokes.

Women given testosterone, in addition to getting the desired facial hair, lower voices, and greater muscle mass, also can get overproduction of red blood cells, deadly blood clots in their deep veins or lungs, weight gain, deadly sleep apnea, abnormal cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and Type 2 diabetes.

Both types of hormone treatments can lead to sterility..."

********

What regarding the above, which is in the actual article,  is "demonstrably false information"?

Attempting to silence the viewpoints of a long term transition from someone in the LGBT community, who happens to have viewpoints that don't fit your tribalism, the main core of the article itself, which you clearly did not actually read, is OPEN BIGOTRY.

YOUR BEHAVIOR HERE IS OPEN BIGOTRY.

Or it shows that people feel much more comfortable and accepted being who they are. Its a good thing, IMO, that fewer people feel the need to hide out of fear of retribution.

I understand Black History month to a degree

Equal treatment means having the same history month as straight people, the same parades, the same awards etc etc. To me, when a group wants to separate out and treated special ... that's not asking for equality anymore.

I'm all for equal treatment, when it evolves into special then I start trying to understand why is all

In the other thread you claimed the stigma was gone…yet here you are posting this and celebrating this pretty  hateful  article.

Showing the stigma is very much still alive.
