INSANITY (2 Viewers)

Noticing some increased stamina/the ability to get most or almost all the way through sets without taking a break, at least until the very end.
Where ya at, GB?
Doing good, I'm shocked at how I'm actually notcing my little 'love handles' disappearing, and my 6-pack is slowly reappearing. Very pleased.Although my legs are WEAK! I have no stamina in my quads, and I've realized my shoulders have gotten weak too.I really need to start hitting the weights more, I'm thinking I'll probably jog and lift when this is all over and do insane abs, this schedule is killing me.I'm supposed to go to a company thing Friday after work, open bar. WTF am I supposed to do? I can't do it when I get back on Fri night, I suppose I could do it Sat and then do my Sat routine on Sunday...Either way, still here, still kicking my own ### daily.
:nerd: Go enjoy the company thing and get back at it on Saturday. It was hard to shake the guilt at first when I did it a few times with P90x, but WTH. Life happens!

Going to get back into this tomorrow. I made it through day 1 of month 2 before completely dropping it. I will be doing my own modified p90X hybrid. M-F, no weekends. MWF will be Insanity in order, skipping the recovery day, and rest day. TTH will be P90X shoulder/bi/tri workout. I may mix up the P90X workout, but I'm mainly doing this for vain reasons, and want to work mainly on my arms. I'm not doing a "X" day program, because I seem to give up on that when I miss a few days and get off schedule. This will be a completely "do what I can, and do it for the rest of the summer" type deal, just so I don't have excuses to give it up. We'll see if I can see any change by the end of summer.

Go ahead and take an extra day off or do the workout in the morning.I've taken an extra day off due to schedule issues twice throughout the entire 8.5 weeks so far. Not a big deal.

God I hate Max Interval Circuit.
Double ditto. I have a little less hate for Max Plyo, but hate too nonetheless.
Have that one tomorrow. I feel the same way about Max Plyo but it tends to increase a bit during the actual workout.Should be done on Monday.
I'm so scared of these "Max" workouts. I think I do my first one tonight, I'm in the 1st week still and last night was the 'Cardio Recovery' dvd. Even THAT was tough! ...Not "as tough" as the others obviously, but there were definitely more than a few moments where I couldn't hold the stretch.Thinking I might be in over my head with this thing. We'll see what tonight and tomorrow bring.

If you're still in the first week you won't be doing any Max workouts for awhile. They start in week 6. Assuming, of course, you're following the program. Don't sweat it. You'll work your way up to them. They suck but they aren't impossible or anything.

 yeah, I figured that out when I got home and double checked the schedule. Pleasant surprise.

3 weeks done today woo hoo! looking forward to a day off tomorrow, this thing is a freaking grind! At least I am seeing some results though!

Ned, I dunno if you've done Pure Cardio + Insane Abs, but damn.
I did Max Cardio this morning. Going to do Insane Abs later today.

Don't bother with Cardio Abs. Not worth the time, IMO.
Why's that? I did it yesterday right after Pure Cardio and thought it was decent. It was a tad easy, but it had its moments. I liked all of the C-sit variations. I had some left in the tank after Pure Cardio, so I was a little happy that I had the extra Cardio Abs to do. The one thing that's pretty stupid is the warm up. Are they serious with that? I skipped right past the warm up and got right into it since I just wrapped up Pure Cardio.I think the 'pulses', or whatever they called that exercise, were the most ridiculous exercise I've ever done. If my wife or kids would've walked in as I was doing them...

:lmao: Totally agree on the pulses, but I can see how it strengthens you, and I LOVE watching Ariel do them.

I am totally :lmao: with Ariel.

I think Ariel's the taller blonde that's off to the right. The one with the killer abs/rear. Either way - hubba hubba

I know there has been talk on this thread of possible off-camera action between Shaun T and Tania. Well, my girlfriend has Shaun T's other video, hip hop abs, and boy was I surprised. I'm pretty sure Shaun T plays for another team... I couldn't even believe it was the same person.

I've wondered ever since I heard him during one of the cool downs..."As a fitness professional I sometimes wonder why I do this to myself"

"Cause I wanna look good." and sounds pretty gay when he giggles about it.

Yeah that sounds like my Ariel.
Ariel is really tall. I can't remember the short blonde's name at the moment. I miss the brunette with the pony tail and the little read shorts from the first month.

Just never felt like it did anything for me because of the short amount of time you're doing everything. I think they should have made most of the exercises last a bit longer. Insane Abs seems much more effective to me. :lmao:

Ariel is also the one that they focus in on during one of the exercises and you get a great closeup of her bellybutton piercing.

Anna is the shorter blonde. Ariel is the tall lanky blonde with the abs.

Already on Day 3 and I feel like a new man. I didn't have that much fat on me to begin with, but all of my muscles are really tight now. I was on Day 2 yesterday and it took me about 45 minutes to get through the 30 minute video.I've also adjusted my diet to include lots of peanut butter, fish, and chicken. My only sugar intake is through my juice addiction.Feelin lean and mean
This thread just took a sharp turn straight downhill.
Who are all these noobs crawling out of the woodwork? Member #40,000, isn't that a bit much to trash-talk me?
Says member 29,000. Good lord.

Excellent Hipple-ing there, GB. :lmao:

Fit test #2 today and I felt really good. I think my increases were part getting strong and part being able to push more in spots know what was coming next.

I started at 205, went down to 203 after week 1, and I'm back to 205 this week. I don't really care, but

I might as well throw my hat in and track my results here to keep me honest.

Code:

I'm having a weird phenomena occuring.

As noted in earlier posts I got through 7 weeks religiously and decided to take a breather for the past 2 weeks. My body was tired and was starting to get frustrated at the lack of extreme results.

For the past 2 weeks I've gone back to my earlier daily routine of elliptical for 30-40mins. 5 days a week. I noticed doing this now I sweat much more and able to go a little faster than pre-INSANITY (for example now regularly go 62RPM at Level 4 on my machine compared to 59RPM at Level 4- not a significant difference, but still better).

With the elliptical work I'll do two sets of pushups to exhaustion every other day....pre-INSANITY I could get up to 85 push ups on first set. Post-INSANITY I can only get up to around 70 on first set. So, have decreased.

On the other every-other day I do some ab crunch work which I never did pre-INSANITY.

Overall, the past 2 weeks on my INSANITY break I feel like my body has made the biggest changes. For the past 2 weeks I have also gone back to my pre-INSANITY eating habits of no breakfast (so don't eat anything until Noon everyday) Down to 185lbs (from original 190lbs), and my core definition has gotten noticeably tighter.

What's that all about?

same thing here. I mostly stopped for about 2 weeks. Look the best. Must be time release. Someone earlier said muscle burns calories faster/more efficiently. Figure my fat is still being burned.

Every leg kick should count as 1 count.Left kick = 1Right kick = 2Left Kick = 3, etc.

Finished up with Insanity and I'm taking a few days off to rest/recover. I'll post my hybrid Insanity/P90X workout but it's going to be 5 days/wk, 3 Insanity, 2 P90X focusing on the arms and shoulders for the first two months. I think the Insanity mix will be 2 month 1 and 1 month 2 to start.

I thought so too, but the little cheatsheet at the bottom of the fold out calendar says '2 kicks = 1 rep' for Switch Kicks.

Nice job guys!! Let us know how post-insanity is going.

Background: I'm 6'2 and my very in shape weight is around 200-205. I have generally always run to maintain that level of fitness. Usually 5 miles 4-5 times per week. Started having some lower back problems in December and had to quit. Started having marathon Modern Warfare 2 sessions late at night which resulted in late night snacking and no exercise. Not good.

When I started Insanity I weighed in at 220 and was very out of shape. As of this morning, I'm down to 205 and if I had to guess I would say that in addition to losing 15 pounds in the past 9 weeks I've also added ~5 pounds of muscle.

Here are my starting and finishing numbers for reference.

Code:
Switch Kicks	85	131Power Jacks	40	51Power Knees	67	104Power Jumps	30	58Globe Jumps	6	12Suicide Jumps	12	21Push-Up Jacks	17	35Low Plank Oblique	37	70
Still not where I want to be so I'm going to take it easy this week and just try to go back to running every other day until I start something else. Maybe a P90X/Insanity hybrid of some sort.
