Invisibles Quiz# 999 (2 Viewers)

8 is Castaway meets Harry Potter. Look at the shape of the thing on her shirt.

Got 1, 2, 4, 5 and 8. I think 7 is a Matt Damon movie but I have to lookup all the names.

She built that alien space-thing and traveled across the galaxy to end up on that beach
Sorry, but that is a bad clue for #5.  She didn't build anything, and she did not travel across any galaxy to end up on that beach.  Are you thinking of a different movie?

Umm, I disagree there. She didn’t physically do the hammer and nail stuff but she discovered the info that led to building the huge ball dropper machine (actually 2 of them). I’d call that building something and technically speaking she did travel across the galaxy. That was the point of the ending. It looked like the ball dropped and nothing happens but the video recording from inside the ball had many minutes of static so it didn’t record what happens but she “travelled” somewhere to talk to the alien.

Animal names???
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

It only won best foreign film. It was the only one I could think of but I messed up thinking it won best picture. I also didn’t think it really looked like it but only one I remembered but I cheated and googled best films so I got it.

Right country, wrong time period. True story and think bigger, in terms of main character.

See bolded. As useful as the hints when you didn’t hit submit and were actually wrong, but thanks! ;)

Ah... Clearly didn't read your whole post

But I did, and I'm right. So now I'm not sure what exactly you googled.
I know you’re right as I googled same answer. I was just kidding you on helping me after I said I got it. Just comparing it to your past helpful hints before you realized you could hit submit at any time.

Cripes man! I'm hanging on by a thread with this new-fangled technology...don't go messing me up even more!

Ok. Next time, I will be more clear with “I got it” and go with:

I found the answer and I would not like to receive anymore hints as Mr Mojo’s first hint and his concern for animals has set me on a journey where I have found the movie and also successfully got a 1 out of 8 after clicking Submit with the movie title entered. BTW Floppo, since you might still be confused, I don’t need any help, I know the answer.

Agree with the bolded, but I don't know how you can say that led to her building the machine like you did.

But, we are clearly talking about the same movie.

She also travelled through the wormhole thingy across the universe.

Unless you're part of the gov conspiracy saying she only fell into a net.

Technically, she was helped along the way by the rich dude and others, but she was clearly in on the discovery of what was sent to them that turned into plans for the building. She was definitely in on the building of the apparatus and just got squeezed out by her “friend” who blew up although she spotted the bad guy. She was the pilot on the second build so I’ll give her credit for being partially responsible for building something. Definitely an underrated movie that I enjoyed even didn’t mind alright, alright, alright guy.

Got 2, 5, 6 & 7 on my own. Got #3 & #4 with the hints.  Got #8 with hints + google search (had to enter the full name of the movie).  Got #1 with a reverse image search which revealed the actor and then got it right away from that.

Hint on #1 - guy in the robe is guy who played Lloyd Dobler.

Gee I'm real sorry your mom blew up Ricky.

1,2,3 for me... but dammit- they're all looking super familiar.

2 is foreign, fwiw.
Ugh, I meant to guess that on #2 at first glance, but never did.  Got it.

4 & 5 are frustrating me.  There is enough there but I can't seem to get it.  Also tried several guesses at #6 to no avail.  I'm assuming that character is some kind of CGI animal.

Just guessed #5, didn't even remember they made a out of it movie, but it was a long running cartoon.  Now I recall the trailers and a hint; the primary character is played by a guy who's wife is notorious for her horse-face.

thanks for those hints on 5 and 8. would never have gotten 5, even though the car was a giveaway for the origin.

8... I had the right genre, but likely wouldn't have gotten this one either. I was thinking Sci-fi/Medical.

I can visualize 4... but guh.

6... that Brooklyn jacket makes me want to think it's a spike lee thing, since Madagascar isn't working...but I'm pretty sure he hasn't done any animal/animation movies.

Lol. 6 is not Spike Lee. I never expected this movie to be on the Invisibles but if you haven’t seen it, I don’t imagine you’d ever get it.

I want to give a good clue without giving it away. How about Frank Cushman decides to not complete Jerry and goes out back. Have fun and if you are confused go grab some sliders and black-ish seasoning.

8 was definitely a Sci-Fi. I mean you don’t see blue people often.

Got all 8, although I did see the hint on 8 before I got it as I was thinking Flatliners but was working on the rest first.

4 is one of the Boston guys and I think the main character in the movie right above, where we discussed whether she was involved in building the ball dropper, was in this movie too as the bad guy.

2 is foreign? Are you thinking of Guillermo del Toro’s movie? If you are, you got one of the title words from his movie, but 2 is the muppet guy directing with Jennifer Connelly and a very famous singer.

7 I got by looking at Stewardess movies, not really a ton of them. It’s Lord of the Rings and the first Spider-Man in a rom-com. It’s even got a little or large recently famous shooter in it.
