Iran Launches "Large Scale Attack" on Israel (3 Viewers)

Seeing rumblings that Israel used intel from Ukraine that showed big flaws in Russian Air Defense systems in its attack on Iran.

Word is they used F35s and easily flew around taking out Iran’s entire air defense network in 30 mins. 😳😂

If true, thats gotta be a killer ad for the F35 (and unsettling as **** for anyone relying on Russia’s vaunted air defense systems).

Some foreshadowing on this exact scenario from August here:

If the F35 is indeed invisible to S300/S400 class systems… thats a major major issue for the red team.

F35 stealth system does not make it entirely invisible to enemy detection systems. It just makes it harder to lock a weapons system onto if the system sees it.

I was speaking more “effectively invisible” here but if you want to be precise yes that is what I meant by “invisible”

Potential escalation?
Do you see us (the U.S.) being involved in any way, shape or form?
US told Israel we won't be involved in this strike. doesn't mean we won't help defend ir be targeted
Yes, it pretty much does.
Trump, for all of his faults, and they are legion, is not a warmonger.

Moreover, this isn't the only conflict in the world. We're basically isolationist at this point.

Nothing to see here.

Anyone here been to Israel? Saudi Arabia? Any middle eastern countries? The threat of the bad guys getting nukes is a legit fear to all of them. It would drastically tilt the power. If i was a betting man this attack was targeting nuclear research facilities. All my opinion of course. I also am not a supporter of war but understand sometimes bad people need to be dealt with. Although they haven't publicy announced they have nukes, it's widely accepted Israel has them. I can see a debate as why are they the only one to have them? Such a serious topic. Such a toxic region. I'm dipping my toe in this topic and hoping for cool discussion not over the top aggression. I also reserve the right to delete my post and leave this thread. Ha ha

All my opinion of course.

If the reports online are true this was a pretty significant blow to Iran taking out their military leader and much of the general staff. II really hate war as I age . The DC warmongers are probably salivating right now . I hope we steer clear

And we care, why?
I have family in Tehran.
Prayers that your people are ok. If there is a silver lining one can hope that this cracks the repressive regime that they've suffered under for many years now.
Absolutely. i was born here in the States, but i have a couple aunts and several cousins out there. The people there are some of the nicest that you will ever find. The government and people in power are garbage. Often times the propaganda here seems to imply that Iran is some sort of evil empire through and through—and that could not be further from the truth. That’s why people should care.

Also "scholars" which probably means scientists involved in the Nuke program

Iran has threatened to target U.S. bases if Israel attacked, if they do so, I'd think the U.S would be forced to get involved (which would most likely mean the end of the Iranian military), so we'll see what Iranian response actually is.

Either way, this is a major escalation and most likely going to be all out war between Israel and Iran (as far as what they can do through the air to each other). Israel has said strikes will continue so I don't think they are done yet either.

Based on Trump’s comments this morning, I don’t think this last position is accurate. The US is clearly supporting Israel.

Yea, this isn't a one time strike like Israel previously did. They have said that they will continue to attack.

If Iran attacks the US it shows how moronic these extremist Muslims are. They can not even effectively attack or defend against Israel. Dragging us in for Operation Preying Mantis Part II is asking for them to be put back in the stone age.

In the days of false news we will see if this proves to be true or not. It's being reported Israel tricked Iranian leaders to gather for a meeting before striking the rendezvous. Thats damn gangster right there. I'm a horrible person because when I first read it I kinda chuckled. My apologies for that response.

It would be similar to arguably the worst military mistake of all time. Bombing Pearl Harbor.

No doubt in my mind. That is 100% the way the Israeli's roll and I am here for it.

I hope so too, but when we and the world knows those are our weapons they are using, it becomes harder for us to steer clear. I don't see a complete cutoff of us arming Isreal, but IMO that is what it would take for us to steer clear (assuming no direct attack on US troops or positions).

Yea there is 0 chance of us cutting them off.

Correct.

The unfortunate truth is that whether or not we like it, we're involved. Iran kind of forces a lot of countries' hands but none more than the U.S.

Israel is our ally and, maybe moreso, our proxy in the Middle East.

They have been trained to be ruthless by the ruthless. When your very existence evokes a widespread murderous sentiment I'd imagine your approach to self defense is a bit stronger than us Westerners. Israelis are outnumbered like 1,000 to 1 in the Middle East. Their give a ****s about what other nations think of their actions is exactly zero.

I agree. I think we should, but it will never happen.

I don't get this at all.

Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East and a massive ally. The civilized world still owes them support for the heinousness we gave them just 80 years ago. I'm not saying they have carte blanche, but abandonment would be very poor taste. They've literally only been a country for like 77 years and are surrounded by enemies on 3 sides.

ETA: Meanwhile our CIA has done far worse than any of the supposed crimes Israel has perpetrated.
