I hear great things about Denmark. It's ultra socialist but everyone seems to love living there. Although I'm not sure what it's like for non-whites.

Have you been deluded into believing Freedom Liberty and Independence?

Sure.

If if you see the lie America has been since its founding anf have become apathetic you desire to see the Workd once again become a World without America.

This is the perspective I think many people lack. I've heard people say things like "The USA is the greatest nation God has given to man" and you know they've only visited 3 states and Cancun on their honeymoon. I get the impression that many other places are as good or better in lots of different categories, especially overall happiness/quality of life types of metrics.

I've been to most of the countries people might say are better or close.  I think what separates the United States with those places is our incredible geographic diversity.  Mountains, beaches, desert, woods, lakes, oceans, we have everything.  All the other countries with those bountiful natural gifts are not in the range of the U.S.

But I think that is the difference, all the other stuff can be debated and there are a lot of countries that are just as good  or better as far as lifestyle, political atmosphere, organization, and quality of life.

I have lived in 15 different countries over the past 35 years and visited/worked TDY in another 30. I agree with the above but I would add it is comparing apples to oranges.  Yes, there a lot of faults with the US but just think about this - go around the world and look who has the longest lines at the Consulate to obtain visas (immigrant & tourist).  Look at the European and Scandinavian Embassies, look at Australia, New Zealand, etc.  Who has the longest lines?  The U.S. Embassy/Consulate - by a mile.  So, if people are voting with their feet, the U.S. blows every other country out of the water by a mile.

We're pretty good. But think how much better we'd be if we didn't think we knew it all already.

Being No. 1 is overrated anyway.
