is it appropriate to call myself a CEO? (1 Viewer)

I started an LLC and im getting business cards printed soon. Its a t shirt business with products I design.

Is it douchy to put CEO on my card?

I was thinking of putting.....

CEO/Master Illustrator

If this isnt appropriate then what is?

My dad owned his own business For like 25 years. He designed the product, did the manufacturing and marketing and everything. He did OK, but it was a small business--he was the only full time employee, at any time he would have between zero and three part time guys working in the factory. Basically the company was him.

On his business card he identified himself as "sales."

I would say CEO/President/Chairman.
Even though true......this wouldnt be going too far?
Not far enough IMO. Don't know why you wouldn't add CMO, COO and CFO, too. You might need a larger-size card for this.
I dont even know what a COO, CMO or CFO is but I probably am one of those too.

Is there any regulations behind these titles?

If not who is to say im not a CEO?
There are no regulations. Of course as the sole member (I assume of the LLC) you can elect yourself to whatever title you want. I think what we are trying to tell you, gently, is that it seems a bit over-the-top.

So what would be the appropriate title?

Considering I do all the work

Why don't you say Founder/Master Illustrator

Or even President wouldn't sound as bad.

It seems a bit pedestrian to me.

I want a title that POPS!

:lmao:

El Grande Queso?

It will help me break in to the south american and iberian markets as I transition to an international businessman.

Let's not forget Grand Poobah. Or maybe Vicar. I like Vicar.
Actually all kidding aside, either title could work for you ( esp.Grand Poobah). It's obviously going to be looked at as a small operation

(1-3 employees) and showing that you have a sense of humor could work in your favor as prospective clients would remember that.

This guy gets it!

Grand poobah is high up on my list.

Yes it's appropriate.

Also use freely at bars and Happy Hours; when girls ask, "what do you do?" Just flash them the card and say, "Right now I'm just CEO'ing..."

To celebrate founding my company should I break off my engagement and go single again?
If you don't you'll eventually have to give her half the shirt. :ptts:
Oh crap. You are right.

This didnt occur to me.

Now it just seems stupid to get stuck in a civil contract now that I own something.

Ahem...

Chief Ejaculating Officer?

What are your sales forecasts for the next quarter? Projected margins?
I pay $6.50 per shirt and I sell them for $20
How are you driving sales? Where are you marketing them? How many have you sold thus far? What are your plans to increase your reach? Pretty classic grassroots/guerrilla marketing approach needed here.
Yes grassroots and social media.

I also have a friend who works for FB that will get me free featured advertising with his credits.

Nice Find on FB ads. They're not exactly great ROI for some stuff but you've got a visual product and you're getting them for free... Just understand that you may sell one shirt per 25-50k impressions/reach.

How do you plan on handling ordering and fulfillment?

Online storefront? Collecting/filing Taxes? Shipping and associated materials an additional fee or baked into cost?

Im purchasing my stock and shipping myself til volume becomes more than I can handle on my own.

Im pretty much set on getting my website and domain through squarespace. Their services also include handling payments and accounting.

Shipping is additional.

I will be contactingbthe IRS to inquire about all neccessary taxes and regulations.
