Is It Time To Move Off These Players? (1 Viewer)

I am trying like crazy to trade for another QB so I can bench or drop Tannehill...he's the one QB in the league that I feel the most confident about when he's in the red zone.  I'm 100% confident that he's going to hand the ball to Henry.

Dropped Golladay 2 weeks ago, haven't looked back.

Picked up two wins this past week with owners who stubbornly started ARob, OBJ, and Mike Davis.

to be fair with last week being the biggest bye week of the year....some of these guys got starts they might not have normally received....

New article today from Ryan Weisse including our Rest Of Season projections from our Bob Henry and Justin Freeman.

For the WRs:

I think they nailed the Robinson 14-team league as someone to hold, but that might be droppable in twelve-team formats. I think they want to part with Golladay too soon and the reasoning behind their suggestion is flawed. Detroit didn't always have a competent quarterback feeding Golladay . IIRC, Stafford was injured the year Golladay had his best finish. Also, saying that Detroit quarterbacks were competent implies that Daniel Jones isn't, and most observers will tell you Jones has been nowhere near the problem on the Giants this year. In fact, there's groundswell behind giving him a go for another year instead of scrapping everything and starting over. He's actually been good.

Beckham Jr. -- I've thought he was overrated since about 2019 and same with Anderson, but I think Anderson's targets (they bring the allure up) indicate that he'll regress to the mean with his catch rate, which means he'll be more proficient here, not less. Plus, if you're looking to past performances, his connection with Bradford generally came in the second half of the year, if it ever comes, and though Bradford has always missed Anderson when the target has been deep, according to PFF, it hasn't been at a 38.3% catch rate. That's awful.

So yeah, that's my take on the WRs.

I think ARob is a really difficult call. I can't see the Bears staying with their approach all year. He still has top 15 upside if they would just throw him the ball

Good timing for this article as an owner of both Arob and Golladay

I finally stopped starting Arob last week and it felt good.  I don't know if I'm ready to drop him but i would love too

I actually never thought Golladay was all that good.  Giants going to regret that contract big time

My 12 team PPR WR group is AJB, Higgins, Sanders, M Jones, Hunter R and ARob.  Need to make room on the bench this week for a move and am seriously considering dropping ARob, the article is backing my thought process.  This is my main league and it’s a keeper auction league.  Going into the draft this year ARob was the #2 WR left in the board behind Keenan.  Oh how the mighty have fallen.

If you would have told me in the off-season I’d be holding on to Hunter and dropping ARob by game 8 with no injuries I’d have laughed you out of the room.  SMH

I would add Tyler Boyd to the list.
Agreed.  Boyd is a good player, but with Chase and Higgins along with Mixon, Boyd is going to be a low ceiling, somewhat low floor WR.

Now if something happens to Higgins or Chase, Boyd becomes a great play, like what we saw when CIN played JAX.  But Boyd is droppable if you need help now.

I was going to come back and add this. I can't imagine Chicago can sign him. They should trade him for whatever the highest pick offered is, even if it is a 7th.
They would get a better compensation pick if he left and signed with another team so it’s not in their best interest to eat up their salary cap and get less of a pick in return on top of losing the player

I'm so glad I sold ARob before the season in Dynasty (and Carson, and Tonyan, for that matter), but that said, he could be a tremendous buy-low (dynasty only) at this point, as I believe he'll be either traded this year, or more likely will move on in the offseason.

Dude is an absolute stud and he's being completely wasted by this Bears team.

Good article.

That's a good point.  Whatever pick beats the comp should be taken.

So don't want to drop my Boyd.

One thing about the Cinci offense: It could just start to come into it's own and be ready to blow some serious doors off the rest of the season.

Maybe things open up a bit. D's clamp just a bit on Chase and things swing around towards Boyd.

Trying to hang on one more week.

The talent is there, it's the opportunity that left.

He's fourth fiddle in the offense behind Chase, Mixon & Higgins.

I am virtually certain Boyd will have at least one week where he performs as a #2 WR in fantasy, possibly more. But will he be in your lineup when that happens? Will you chase those points the following week?

Trying to predict his useful weeks is basically a game of blindfolded whack-a-mole.

I'm not sure there is a waiver wire gem out there worth dropping OBJ and/or Allen Robinson for - might as well hold til the trade deadline and see if they end up in a better situation.

This.

I have a few end-of-bench guys in redraft and dynasty that I’d love to drop, but I look at the wire and it’s generally one big Meh

I personally think this is prudent. And the bolded is exactly what I thought when I read Boyd's name.

Not so fast, thought I.

Arguably 5th if you include Uzomah, and Perine doesn’t appear to be going anywhere in the receiving game, so yeah - lots of mouths to feed.

Traded a bunch of future draft picks away to land ARob this off-season so I'm being hesitant about dropping him from my keeper league team. I know I should but, I'm still hoping for a rebound. I know better, I'm just being stubborn. The remote possibility of a trade out of Chicago is intriguing.

Been hesitant to drop Boyd from my super intense redraft league as well. The minute I drop him he'll explode. Looking at my roster I have other players to sacrifice for waiver claims this week. Think he's a hold ..... for now.

eta: I'll add that I enjoyed the article.

Re: Golladay

I dropped him last week prior to the Byemaggedon as I couldn't hold an injury on top of all the byes.  But I'm not scrambling to pick him back up either.  We'll see if he survives the waiver run tomorrow, someone will probably pick him up but it won't be me.  The Giants offense just looks like a mess, they're all injured, the entire offense runs better with Barkley and he's hurt too, Toney is the new shiny toy getting a million targets but he's hurt now.  Just glad to be rid of that whole offense if I'm being honest.

I definitely think it's time to drop Beckham.   He never had any chemistry with Baker Mayfield and can't stay healthy anymore.   Just watching him struggle in the TNF matchup was just sad, sort of like watching an over-the-hill Willie Mays drop pop flies in center field (showing my age now).   Meanwhile  OBJ 2.0 (fellow LSU Alum Jamarr Chase) is ripping the league a new one;  the similarities between 2021 Chase and 2017 Beckham are uncanny.

I would also add Brandon Aiyuk to this list.   What the hell happened to this guy?   He looked destined to be a Top 10 WR with his speed, athleticism and route running skill.

Hold Higbee, Singletary, Golladay, Beckham, A-rob, Ryan, Tannehill, if not for trade value or hoping they turn it around. I think Ryan is set up to have a nice second half of the season with the offensive pieces gelling. Tannehill also has rushing threat but yeah TD's aren't really coming this year. I'd cut Beckham but someone will trade for him. Golladay had a good game vs NOLA. Higbee is on a top-3 offense, and so is Singletary. A-Rob can be traded or flat out cut.

Flat out cut the rest of these players

Can't pry arob from anyone in my leagues, although they're looking for AROB prices

I feel like they can't psycholigcally sell low but somehow can cut him

And I'll happily sign him

Rest of the list I agree with but it seems like Matt Ryan is playing better

I think this is probably true, but Dalton starting again wouldn't be a shocker.
It’s really a tough call.  Fields looks lost out there, but how much of it is coaching?  Bill Laser was the OC in Cinn when Dalton had the most success.  I see no direction by the team at all.  I’m a big Robinson fan and Mooney owner, just sucks to see them getting 2-3 catches in a game that was 45 minutes of TB playing prevent D because the game was in-hand.

Nah, Bears need to get some new coaches and have an offseason to retool. It's a mess. I'm thinking of trying to buy low in dynasty but for this year he's hot garbage.

Ryan seems to be adjusting….he’s not a stud, but I wouldn’t go replacing him with Justin Fields or Case Keenum or anything likely available on the wire….

I traded him away in 12 team redraft 2 weeks ago and am happy to rid of him
Same. Packaged Sanders and Arob with Gainwell and got Ridley and Singletary back. Just picked Gainwell back up again this week (in desperation) after the guy dropped him. Luckily it worked out.

Funny, I went Henry, Ridley, Robinson on draft night and felt like a thief. That feeling didn’t last long lol

I sent Robinson and Hunter Henry to a team that had no TE for Brady after I lost Wilson

Just to play the devil's advocate, I can't believe that the Giants are going to pay Kenny Golladay ($72 million/$40 million guaranteed) and not try and get him more involved. Nobody can argue that he hasn't been a disappointment to this point, but he is a very talented WR.

In his last healthy game, Golladay posted a 116 yard game and six catches on seven targets. He's only played four full games to this point. Perhaps a little more time in the system and he will start to show some results. I think it's a little premature to cut bait on him.

Mostly off-topic, but I think OBJ finding his way to the Saints could revitaize his career, and the Saints offense.

Interestingly I can’t sell him to anyone in mine. Certainly not looking for any typical ARob prices either as I’m likely dropping him this week for a bye week Kicker coverage.
