Did I see his awful unemployment benefits are finally coming to an end? We have so many businesses shut down as no one wants to work. Could be a worse more out of touch POTUS, he’s not on top of a single thing.

Yep, I hope this can help small business owners with their labor shortages.

11 million people are losing or having benefit reductions this weekend.  It was past time.

Journalist Tim Pool said something interesting last November.  He pointed out that historical legacy is much harder to gauge when you only look at the current situation. He pointed out George W Bush and the WMD issue drove a large section of America to rage and he was often gutted in the media. A lot of people then called him the worst President ever.

Now the tone on him has softened. The new narrative is Cheney was pulling the strings and Dubya was just a dunce.

Why this new narrative?

Bush was involved with Operation Wide Receiver. Which was large scale DEA program that ended up turning into Operation Fast And Furious under the Obama/Biden/Holder watch. In order to shield Obama, several things happened. First, it was was categorized as "gun walking" as a way to soften the media optics on what happened. Obama and Biden sent Holder to cut a deal with the Sinaloa Cartel. They got guns and proceeded to slaughter Mexican citizens wholesale and some American law enforcement agents. Second, all the optics around anything to do with Fast And Furious needed to be cleaned up. To denounce Operation Wide Receiver would lend the question on why Obama continued and expanded the program to it's logical end towards pure stupidity.

There's a practical pathway where one day AOC or Gavin Newsom could be POTUS. ( AOC would have a pretty tough road, it's a narrow chance, but it's theoretically possible. )  Dan Crenshaw has a narrow pathway if he's Nikki Haley's choice for VP and while he's a patriot and a strong military voice, he's also not the sharpest knife in the entire drawer. I could see the government buckling under Crenshaw.

In an almost Matrix like fantasy scenario, if Haley and Ron De Santis were caught in a dog fighting operation like Michael Vick, Kamala Harris could win POTUS in 2024.

So, the worst POTUS might be yet to come.

There's a lot to be impressed about regarding AOC's rise to power and her massive platform. But does anyone want to see her meeting world leaders, having them stare at her ches and ignore what she's saying, and then audio of her babbling about getting rid of all cars that use gasoline in the next 2 years?

The level of not shockingly terrible to the point of repugnant that one of AOC/Newsom/Harris could bring might reset the map on bad Presidents.

Maybe you were just one of those guys who thought Hootie And The Blowfish were the best band that ever lived back in the 90s, the Beatles be damned.
What on earth does any of this garbage have to do with the post you quoted?

We are taking $20+ billion out of the economy between now and October.  It's going to get worse before it gets better.  And here in the state of Florida those supplements were taken away months ago and finding workers continues to be a major problem as delta blazes through our neighborhoods.

It might get worse before it gets better, but we needed to rip the bandaid off. We can't afford to keep 11 million people propped up on a living wage while contributing no manpower or production hours to our economy. Especially when small businesses are having labor shortages and costs of goods are going up as a result.

Healthy people need to get back to work. If you're scared of covid, work from home.

You're more optimistic than I am in terms of people getting back to work.  It seems like people have realized the jobs they had at crap pay aren't worth it given the risks presented.  As I said before, here in this state, the money was taken away months ago and the labor shortage hasn't gotten meaningfully better.  I hope that's not the case everywhere, otherwise the talking point will have run dry and we are left with "now what?".

"Work from home" is only an option in a few circumstances and wouldn't fix 95% of the areas we see "shortages".  Those industries are likely going to have to raise wages significantly.  If there's one thing this pandemic has shown us it's exactly how lagging our wages are in this country and that's across almost all industries.  People seem to be waking up to that.  We'll see how businesses react.

What's the big deal here?  Those embellishing stupid clips of Joe need to keep their day jobs.
Even without the embellishments, he rubs a kids shoulders again. He wanders around wondering what to do and then just leaves randomly while his wife is presenting.

Of course he is a horrible President.  Begging and pleading with Saudi and OPEC to produce more oil while at the same time trying to destroy US oil production is disgraceful and an embarrassment.

Worst, but with only Kamala and Nancy in the bullpen we are going to have to leave him on the mound to get shelled until 2022.  There’s no mercy rule to save us.

Thanks Biden voters and Biden ballot harvesters!

That is the biggest issue.  Biden is terrible but there is nobody else. Biden looks like a weak, confused old man. Wait..he is.

I saw a McDonalds in New Jersey offering $18/hr wages.

"Back in the day"  :)         The only people who worked at fast food places were HS kids, college students and people who wanted some extra income.  Unless you planned on management postions or franchise ownership making fries and burgers were not meant to support a family let alone yourself.

I just told my daughter last week..if I was still in HS or college I would be all over these jobs making 17-18 an hour at  fast food joints.

I think I read before Squistion is in the fast food business with the Arbys franchise so I would like to know how he feels about this?

I almost fell out of my chair when my daughter, who has never worked a day in her life told me that they're gonna pay her $15/hour to work at Kohls.

I think most places like this would go under if this was the only group who were expected to work a lot of hours at a fast food joint.    I think most of our core staff of day side help don't fall under the description of the bolded.

That is the market around us now - from McD's to Target to Kwik Trip, etc..  I don't think anything that is hiring I have seen signs for less than about $15/hr.  This is an area just outside of Madison, WI and not a spot where cost of living is outrageous.

My 14 year old son with hardly any availability got hired on our place at $9.50/hour.   Like I posted above, this is the norm around here, and every place I walk into has hiring signs up.  Everybody is short staffed.

I think it is a little too early to make such an assertion about Biden, and often we need the time to really look back and review before assessing a President is really feasible.

I disagree with his policy decisions in some cases, and certainly the least fortunate among us appear to be hurt by those decisions in a disproportionate way.

My daughter got a job a Chuck E' Cheese, they only paid $10 an hour.  She took it because of the flexible hours she needed.

I am sure there could be places that pay less around here- maybe Dollar Store?  Everything else I see for 18yr old + is $15/hr.

For our store, 14-15 yo start at $9 or more, 16 bumps up to 11.50 starting, and 18+ is about 15/hr, I believe.  we seem to be just a tad lower than the other places I listed above.

My daughter has quit more jobs in the last 6 months than I've had my entire life.  It's so easy to get a job these days, I can't imagine anyone being jobless right now.
