Is Now the Time to Sell Calvin Johnson? (2 Viewers)

Can't trade him now in a keeper league. I entertained offers last week and some of them were laughable and almost insulting. I hope they sit him and he gets better.

I was thinking about selling him in my dynasty. I was 3 - 0, but he has cost me my last 2 games. The problem is I have no idea what to ask for in dynasty. Anyone else have this problem?

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported on Monday night that Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson could miss a few weeks after aggravating his injured ankle.

I certainly hope so. I would rather have him sidelined for two weeks and ready when the games count than play red light green light all season long. Get him healthy so order can be restored in Detroit.

Killer definitive scoop, Mort. I could have filled the exact same report from the bar when I watched Calvin limp off the field.

Well, it's everywhere that Calvin may sit this week. But Mort is the first I've heard to speculate about a "few weeks"...

I play against him in week 7, so this came as welcome news. :)

Okay, now I am pissed off with Calvin and the Lions.

I would have played Sproles in his place. I would have won by about 1 point instead of losing by just under 5 (thanks to Wilson as my QB). Against the #1 guy who is now 4-1 with the most points scored.

So. Irritated.

(figures my opponent would have Demaryious while I have Calvin)

I think now is the time to cash in on him. His days of the no question #1 WR are over. Some might not agree, but those are the owner you need to sell to. He probably has 3-5 years of WR 1/2 production left. But on a 235lb frame, you have to be realistic that he may slow quicker than most WRs.

If you can still get a haul... take it!

If the Lions only rested him the last two weeks, he'd be healthy and raring to go. But, of course, we'll all suffer through four wasted weeks instead.

I'm sure many of us are thinking along these same lines, but have there been any specific details about the injury? I keep reading "ankle" but can't recall reading that it's a sprain, low-, high-, bruise, whatever.

Hard to imagine that the Lions would purposely put the center piece of their offense on the field if there was a better-than-average chance that the injury would be aggravated. I have to believe that they would lean towards the cautionary side if it was more than simply pain management.

I can't find any suckers to take this albatross off my hands. Wow what an absolute waste of a top pick.

I've shipped away the best of the best in 25 years of fantasy football. Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison and Andre Johnson. I don't ship 'em out with more than 2 BIG years left in them. Calvin is at least 3 years away from me shipping him out.

This is where people don't get how much luck is involved in this hobby. Calvin isn't done, and you can't predict injuries.

They are the Lions for a reason. Some franchises just can't do anything right.

I'm not paying top 5 WR prices for a 29 year old receiver with alleged bone on bone knees. The end can come swiftly for WR's with knees like that.

Still difficult to trade for. As I expected before reading the comments in here, owners still want top dollar for him. Not happening.

Is that alleged from one FBG poster or is there more evidence? TIA
