is now the time... (1 Viewer)

The rookie QB won't affect his numbers that much; the problem is the offensive line. (As you should have known before you drafted him). He's averaging over 25 touches a game, yet has not managed even 100 total yards in a game yet.

He had 29 touches against San Francisco and only managed 86 yards.

If you can get anything for him, unload him. But you are unlikely to get much.

Yeah I would think this would be the worst time to unload him. Wait until he has a good game and then unload him.

The time to unload Edge was the second he signed with Arizona. A good OLine makes the RB; not the other way around. You missed the bus ......

HTH.

i really thought Edge was good enough to overcome a bad o-line. For the first time this season I'm thinking I was wrong.

Actually, I'd say he is overcoming that situation. Unfortunately it's still not enough. Their running game was so bad last year, that I'm actually somewhat impressed by Edge's ability to do anything.

He's RB10 after 4 weeks in standard leagues so it hasn't really been that bad so far.

I knew his yardage numbers would suffer significantly because of the awful Arizona OL; however, I felt like Arizona's passing offfense was prolific enough to move the ball down the field and create plenty of GL opportunities for Edge. He could rush for 1100 yards at 3.2ypc and still be a bottom end RB1 if he scores 10 TD's. Right now he's on pace for 1400 total yards/ 8 TD's.

The problem is now you have a rookie QB leading the offense. Unless Leinart matures quickly (and we know how rookie QB's perform) the Arizona offense is going to struggle, thereby causing Edge to have more 20 carries / 50 yard games with no scores.

I think the Colts unloaded the Edge at the right time. The Edge has lost his edge and had no burst. Good back for blocking and picking up positive yards on first down. Although I do disagree. There are RB who make an offensive line. They are rare. There is only one in the NFL right now though.

I think he is a good buy low candidate in redraft.

If you can get him in two weeks after playing the Chiefs and especially the Bears, he gets Raiders, Packers, bye, Cowboys, Lions, Vikings, Rams, Seahawks, Broncos, 49ers and week 17 Chargers which is irrelevant to my leagues.

If you can give up a RB 2 to get him right now, I think its a good move.

I have confidence in Green coaching an NFL offense, I'm seeing this out and not dumping him

I agree with the last two posters. I see the move to Leinart as a spark to this offense, not a negative. Put Warner behind a bad o-line and you see what you get. Leinart, while not a burner, is more mobile and able to move around the pocket.

I actually traded FOR Edge yesterday, giving up LaMont Jordan in a slightly larger deal. No way did I want to have to depend on a Raider anymore.
