Is "The Choice Is Yours" Grandpa Rap? (1 Viewer)

it's no wonder i've had you on ignore
Good. I knew that would be negative. You didn't disappoint to point that out. Just wondering what Capella was talking about in another thread. It was a fun moment.

As always, you've ruined it. You're an ###.

I love the song. If you can't see that, then you're just a fool. A fool still stuck in 2007. I'm the one Chief Knocka, Chief.

eta* Yeah, it's pretty much an invitation to post your favorite late '80s/'90s hip hop videos, but you're too dumb to get it.  Fine. Be dumb.

Weird at @Jayrod, an admitted porn addict turned hardcore Christian would like his post.

I feel great about this thread now. If you hate, I've done something well...

I've done some great stuff, apparently. Furley, no need to comment anymore. I don't like you, either. I think you're a dip####. Jayrod, you know what I think about Christians like you.

Rockaction, I pride myself in being "in the know" with most things.

I swear I have no idea what you are talking about most of the time.  You are a conundrum to me and I constantly have to google words you use to figure out WTH you are saying and even then I sometimes still don't get it.  I can follow @wikkidpissah and @SWC with ease, but you are a different cat.  And I like it (I think).

I thought he was just messing with you as a light hearted joke.  Didn't know it was this serious.

You have this backwards.  Was a hardcore Christian from my teen years on (still am), but got pretty caught up in porn for a long while.

Really, I didn't mean any disrespect with my like.  I was typing that earlier post out about not "getting" you as a tribute to you as a poster before you even ripped into me.

I hope I don't come across as a ##### as much anymore.  Been working on it, but I do like to tease and joke a lot.  I think you are an OK guy as far as I know, just strange.  And I like strange people, they make the world more interesting.

I messed up.I shouldn't have brought you into this. It's not on you and I wish you best in your travels. I love you as a fellow Christian sympathizer. My fault. I failed. I fail sometimes. Just wanted this to be a light-hearted look at late '80s/early '90s rap, and he chimes in.

I'm just -- imperfect.

I messed up. My bad. Really. I should not have taken that shot at you. You've been more than forthcoming; that deserves respect rather than what I gave you. I'm seriously upset now for doing that.

I'll be on the boards, but I'm sorry.

No problem man.  We're good, so don't worry about it.

I've been a d-bag way too much in the past to ever throw stones at an emotional response.

You keep doing you, GB.

Thanks for the forgiveness; I need more in my life, apparently.

Go widdat. Sometimes youre cool, a window into how a thoughtful person can embrace mindless things and often show the mindfulness in them, but sometimes you're just RokNRole with a dictionary

Black Sheep:  A wolf in sheep's clothing is a contender for my favorite rap album of all time.  In my late teens and early 20's my group of friends would listen to this CD in the car practically on repeat.

When I first heard the CD I hated it.  I wasn't into rap.  My friends played it so much, I started really listening to the lyrics, they made me laugh, I found myself bobbing my head to it... and eventually I loved it.  I eventually got a copy of the CD myself and listened to it many times over the years.

Within the past few weeks I, for some unknown reason, started singing the song 'Pass the 40' to myself.  It got stuck in my head.  My wife asked me "Who were you talking to?".  I explained I was singing this song, brought it up on youtube, and proceeded to sing about 87% of the lyrics correctly.  She was somewhat taken aback that I was able to do that and had an astonished look on her face.  I then proceeded to tell her not to look so surprised as we both know she used to like Eazy-E and was super excited when she found a cassette of his in our basement while we were purging old items a few years ago.  Yes, all of us suburban white kids loved gangster rap back in those days.  No need to act surprised about it.

So here is to 'Pass the 40' with an appearance from Chi Ali:

Thanks, bud.

Well, Dres is 50 and has a son who is 28.   Good chance it is graps (ie, grandpa raps)
"G-Rap."  Sounds fresh. Not like Cool-G-Rap and DJ Polo, but like Grandpa-Rap.

Anything prior to early 90s, before Pac and Biggie... Kool Moe Dee, Bid Daddy Kane, BDP, Ice T, Eric B and Rakim, PE, Tribe, EPMD... Those guys were cutting edge back then and now they're G-Rap.  Don't know how that happened so quickly. :kicksrock:

Native Tongue still sounds fresh. It's bizarre. We are grandpas.

I'm listening to Souls Of Mischief right now. Grandpa rap.
