My bat### crazy cousin committed suicide over the weekend.  The cops are all over her husband, interviewing him for hours after the fact, interviewing his little kid (4th grader).  Today they stopped by and asked to search the house.  Should he be worried?  

 
So now he has to bury his wife and as an added bonus will probably have to shell out thousands for legal advice because small town cops have nothing better to do.  

 
Sorry to hear that. But it sounds like the cops found something. Is it his story that she committed suicide? Maybe they found something that was inconsistent with his story.

 
No gun, it was the car in the garage thing.  I heard there were some discrepancies in the carbon monoxide levels in her blood.  In any event, this sucks, she was a serial cheater and drug/alcohol abuser, had an very open affair with a big money pharmaceutical sales dude and then pulled the plug on herself when the other wife found out and he called the whole thing off. She was nuts and this guy is probably one of the coolest, most level headed person you could ever meet.

Im saying he has something to worry about. The idea that innocent people don't need lawyers has ended up with lots of innocent people in jail. Maybe they are just checking off a check list. But this isn't the time to mess around. Cops come calling -> shut your mouth and get a lawyer.

Sorry to hear about this.  Very sad she was not able to get help.

 
Sounds horrible for everyone involved. Is the autopsy done?  I can't imagine the cops wanting to search the house unless something was amiss, but admittedly I know nothing about the rules of law here. 

 
All your posts are :fishing:  so there is that.  Sounds like your cousin was awful if she really existed, so saving her poor husband might be the best thing you ever do in this world. Think on it man, do the right thing.

Yeah....I guess.  If it turns out that he actually murdered her, it would be one of the biggest wtfs in history though.  She was flaming out hard the last few months and, sad to say, i was not surprised when I heard the news.  Really sad for her kids; they have really great kids; three really smart, well adjusted, confident, and cool kids.  IMO just having produced those three kids, on its own merits, should be reason to think you've lived a successful life, but what the hell do I know?

Hate to ask, but since you said she was a serial cheater, are you sure all the kids are your cousins?

Sure, maybe in the political threads....those are total ####shows, so who cares about that?  (except for people who might be unstable, thin-skinned dooshbags, right?  :bye: )  You think I am seriously making a fishing thread about suicide?  I'm really not sure I have ever seen something like that around here.  I'm half tempted to post her obit, but I am not really sure you wouldn't troll her kids facebook or twitter account in some misguided attempt to 'get back' at me for whatever it was I did to you.  

Probably had something to do with the Seahawks, right chap?   :deadhorse:

Oldest kid is kid from another dude that he raised. Second kid, no question, looks like his dad.  Third kid, looks alot like mom, I would not be surprised if there was some tomfoolery there, but in essence, it is totally his kid no matter what because he raised him.

Yes, because he might have killed her.

When i saw the thread title I thought this might be about you licking your grandmother's feet or something.

I'll update this if something comes of it.  Obviously he has to lawyer up now.  If he gets charged, I will post a link.  I've got to pick up her sister at the airport tomorrow, I haven't seen her in a few years, not exactly the best circumstances for family reunions.

Yes, he needs a lawyer even if he's innocent. 

Believe it or not, innocent people have actually been convicted of murder.

 
I've read that catalytic converters eliminate something like 99% of CO made by the engine.  If that's the case, is suicide by CO poisoning still a viable option for someone like the OP's cousin?

Yes, its still viable and happens a lot (many times by accident).

:goodposting:  I am a big supporter of the police, but in two jury experiences, it was obvious the police got their stories mixed up. If he gets into the legal system, the prosecutors seem to only be interested in the "win".

 
Had a very similar situation with very close relatives. The husband of the wife that committed suicide via gunshot was forced to sit in police car and questioned for hours, but that's as far as it went. Seems a little odd to me that they are coming back, but I'm sure protocol dictates that they investigate thoroughly. I'm speaking from one experience only.

Had a friend's brother pass, in his bed, after leaving his car running in an attached garage. Garage was right under the bedroom, still was enough to get him
