..then you have a 6x greater chance of going bald. For the poll: thinning/balding - same thing

thinning and receding...but not balding.
This, and also exact same length it appears, so I can't really answer the poll.

Also exactly how is the finger comparison made? We talking Mauna Kea or Everest? Is it the farther extending one when your fingers are all straight out? Or from bottom of the webbing? Or from knuckle? Or what?
Just hold them out straight and see which one is longer.

Well this is the first time I've noticed this, but on my right hand they are the same length, while on my left the ring finger is noticeably longer. I don't know what that means, but I have most of my hair. Probably very slowly receding, but not even close to my mostly-bald dad and brothers.

Ring finger longer than my index finger.
Full head of hair at 67 with no thinning.
None of the men in my family are bald or have thinning hair.

46, ring finger longer than index finger - full head of hair and no thinning. Plenty of greying though. Horrible maternal-side genetics for balding as most of my cousins are bald/balding already. Good genetics on my paternal side as my dad is 74 and still has a lot of hair, in relative terms, for his age.

Also ring>index. Had plenty hair until late 40s, now balding at 52.
