Is Vick droppable? (1 Viewer)

Dropping. (I wouldn't expect him before their Week 12 bye regardless)

Foles plays well, keeps the job.

OR

Foles tanks, Eagles tank and Barkley starts rest of year to access.

glad i traded for a rodger the week before

but i dont think you can drop him, the potential there would make it tough if he explodes in any given week.

figuring out which week that will happen going forward will make you pull your hair out though.

it'll depend on how this division plays out over the next few weeks as well...as bad as they have played only a game out could lose a few games still and still be in it going into week 13.

i dont think I will drop him as I would him for him to have a huge week against me in the playoffs

Can't drop him & risk an opponent starting him against you in the playoffs for 4 TDs. But it depends on the league.

I don't want or need him anymore (was my starter to open the season - now have Brees after the wheels fell off on Vick) but yeah, I don't want to cut him. Philly's playoff schedule is money, and it would suck to have another owner add him and beat you in the championship with your waiver wire trash.

if your dropping him, i guess the question would be.. why?

are you finding another player who can give you his potential numbers?

need the roster spot or what?

b/c the chances you find a guy who could put up his potential numbers in weeks 14,15,16 probably arent very likely

Freeing up one of 6 bench spots from my QB2 where my QB1 has passed his bye. If you've got 5 weeks (at a minimum IMO) to wait on him and have the bench space, keep him. Keep in mind Vick tried to return in 3 weeks this time -- was immobile & suffered a big setback. If you think he's returning before the Week 12 bye, you're going to be disappointed IMO. See my prior post about Eagles QB situation.

PPR: I'd rather give the spots to the Harvins, Vereens, Burlesons and even Andre Browns of the world. On better teams, trending in the right direction. And much greater likelihood to be fantasy relevant sooner rather than later.

As is usually the case, a lot of variables. Your record. Current depth. Length of bench. Playoff format.

I have Vick in a 2QB league where WAY too many teams (8 of 12) make the playoffs. He's worth a stash and wait in that league because I don't need to worry about a short term upside guy on the waiver wire.

In any reasonable 1qb league, unless you have a huge bench, can't see him as worth it. In many 2qb leagues probably not even worth it - but you never know. In a 2qb league if he's back for weeks 14-16 for whatever reason, that could easily be the difference between winning a championship and getting booted.

I dropped because even when he has a good match up lately he pulls a hamstring this is a very ineffective passer as well. Any opponent picking him up and and starting him against you is just as likely to experience a dud

Depends on who else you have really. If you have a top 6 QB, definitely. If not, it might be worth taking a close look at schedules and holding him for another week, or until you have more news.

As the OP, I didn't want to turn this into "should I drop Vick" so I didn't post my current situation. But now that the question's been posed, I'm asking because I have RGIII and just acquired Dalton in a trade. I'm out of roster spots and want to grab Andre Brown.

I'd rather roster Jay Cutler as a playoff QB than Vick. Better receiving cast and you know Jay's coming back as the starter when healthy.

If they're (Eagles) staring at 3-8 come Week 13 (distinct possibility), do you bring back a 33 year old QB that's been ineffective since Week 2, looking at a QB draft class that's loaded at the top?? If Foles wins 2 out of their next 3, you're looking at the Eagles starting QB rest of the season. Barring injury to Foles, it's had to see a situation that Vick returns as starting QB. For all the fantasy excitement, he is 1-3 in games he's been able to put together nearly injury free games.

He's droppable if Phillip Rivers is your starter and you have other needs besides a backup who is injured and may never start again this season. In otherwords I'm dropping him tonight.

I dropped him today and plan to start Romo every week except for his bye. I have no faith in starting him due to potential injury and besides the eagles O isn't lighting it up anyway when he is in the game.

But that's just the thing. There's virtually no way he's back as the starter before Week 13, which is the last week of most FF regular seasons. From that point on, it's win or go home.

So unless you're on the outside looking in before Week 13, or a huge underdog in a playoff matchup, why would you want to start a boom-or-bust guy like Vick over another more reliable option as your QB? Most Vick owners paired him (or at least should have) with a lower-ceiling, higher-floor guy like Luck, Wilson, Dalton - and a lower-ceiling, higher-floor QB is usually just what you want come FF playoff time.

Stashing a guy for a month just for him to come back to a situation where you probably won't want to use him anyway? No thanks. I'm dropping him for Locker.
