It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (3 Viewers)

Dennis' slow progression of getting darker and darker over the course of the series is brilliant.  Part of me really thought he was going to tell his "daughter" from the water park episode to "Call him when she turns 17" (or something way worse).

The High School Reunion one were he's pissed at all the former classmates and basically goes serial killer talking about needing his "tools" from the back of his car: duct tape, zip ties, flashlight, camcorder, etc.

Or the boat episode where he keeps talking about the "implication." Dennis is one twisted dude.  :lmao:

"I am untethered and my rage knows no bounds!"

The Gang Goes on Family Fight is definitely a top 20 episode for me (#76 on that list is too low imo).  I'd like to rank it even higher, but this show just has so many great episodes.

I will come down on this hospital like the Hammer of Thor !

Later :

Then, I busted out this sweet Thor line on this lady because she was pissing me off - it was like "BOOM", I really hit her with it.  And I NEVER reference the Nordic Gods...

Water Park episode was funny.  I'm sure I wasn't the only one to realize exactly what was going on at the end when she handed him the water gun.

Too many great episodes to rank but love the one where they are trying to get Paddy's designated as a historical landmark.

My top 3:

Seinfeld

Curb

Sunny

In that order
I would add Cheers too, but yes.  This.  Although my order would flip around depending on what I was watching at the moment, but those three, Cheers, and Frasier (which would stay at #5) are likely my top 5 and it would take a lot to move one of them out.

Not many shows have this many great episodes. Past couple pages of posts proves this
This...plus they've done it in the era where there is exponentially more competition with all the different outlets for entertainment than the historically legendary comedies did.

Rough tiering of my top comedies of all time.  This was very tough.  I'm pretty confident that Sunny is #1, but beyond that, I grouped them to the best of my ability.  Ask me next week and it might change.Sunny

ETA: I've never seen an episode of MASH

We watched the first episode of the new season. There were some funny parts so it wasn't a total bomb but I did fast forward through a few songs at the end.

Great companion piece to "The Gang Desperately Tries to Win an Award." Complete takedown of the sitcom genre. So many callbacks and quick jokes, it was hard to even catch them all.

Uncle Jack in the boy scout uniform killed me.  I also love that every time he sees Charlie, he starts pushing up on him and Charlie has to elbow him off.  So dark.

Mrs. Mac was amazing too.  From her announcing her bowel movements to Mac shoving her in front of the cameras non-stop so Dennis couldn't "write her out" of the house....  :lmao:

Reminded me of an old O&A bit.  THey had I forgot what shows they were but they were sitcoms without any laugh track.  It was brutal how bad it was wihtout a laugh track, but also how often the laugh track was added.  It becomes such white noise - you don't realize how often is used

Interesting season.  All episodes had a different approach with a musical, the trip to the water park, and then the focus on the mom's house.

I got a kick out of the wall sign in the room where they were watching the TV cameras that said "Charlie Work"

Took to episode 3 to get our first shot of Paddy's too.

Went back and watched "Charlie Work" the other night.  What an amazing, amazing episode.  It was hitting on all cylinders the entire way through, with an amazing payoff at the end (the stool) that made you want to go back and rewatch it immediately.

Every episode has been hilarious this season for different reasons. The writing and creativity is off the charts imo.

Charlie: "...now I'm thinking about Minotaurs. Now I'm thinking about a hoagie sandwich. Now I'm thinking  about a glass of water to go with the chips....how many more thoughts do you need? Do you want me to go on and on?"

Dennis: "no, we're good"

:lmao:

The way Frank so earnestly tells Mac about his mother : "She is repulsive.. " was fantastic too.

Plus:

Mrs.Mac : "I gotta take another dump!"

Mac : "No, Mom.. No more ###tting, you have to go where the action is! Are you not getting full eliminations, is that why you have to go so much?" :lmao:
