Jacksonville's offensive line? (1 Viewer)

I was big on JAX going into this season, but after the injuries in week 1 (the center and I think 2 other linemen), what are we looking at for the rest of the season? How bad were the injuries? I hear the center is down for a while, but I can't confirm with any reports. Going to be a tough sell on Garrard seeing how his sched is tough to start the season, but I'm not excited about him having to throw 40 times a game without a run game and no protection.

as a jags fan, yeah, it kinda is panic time.

losing QB's grabs headlines. losing 40-60% of an offensive line can sink a season.

If I heard correctly, two Olinemen put on IR after the game, and a third "out indefinitely".Catastrophic for MJD; possibly a bump for Garrard, and to a lesser extent his crew of hapless WRs.

Why a bump for Garrard yet catastrophic for MJD? Isn't MJD the primary RB on passing plays?

for fantasy purposes, i could see this not hurting MJD too bad in PPR leagues (making him a buy low from owners thinking catastrophe).if running between the tackles becomes alot tougher (as it will), i think the jags will look to find ways to get their best playmaker the ball in space as often as possible. even in a gawd-awful game last week, he caught 4 passes and almost had a TD against a good defense. these injuries are horrible news for the jags as a team and probably fred taylor's fantasy value, but MJD's value in PPR leagues might remain mostly intact.

Sorry, I always tend to answer in terms of non-PPR since I'm used to those. Agree that the negative impact in a PPR is far less.

 I have Taylor in a couple of leagues - will have to flex around him more often now as he'll only be viable against cupcake run D's, IMO. MJD also impacted but less so since he's such a good pass receiver/outside the tackles runner.Taylor's on my bench for a couple of weeks minim until I see how the Jags adjust their personnel to this occurence. There are a few 1/2 decent FA guys out there (Toniu Fonoti was released by CAR if memory serves, for example) that could be stop gaps but a definite degrading of YPC is likely now. My .02.

they've lost one for the year and another for at least 2 mos..and that's on top of the Collier shooting... they have a lot of work to do.. at the same time.. it can be done...I'll look for them to struggle a bit maybe this next week or two..but just for references.. don't sell the farm just yet.....you know the wounded animal saying...they've always seemed to thrive when their backs have been to the wall and they aren't supposed to get things done..{although this will be a huge test}compared to when they seem to struggle at meeting higher expectations..

I don't know about the line situation in Seattle, but Jax should be offering a WR to Seattle if Seattle has any line depth at all.

so I'm a bit confused. How would this be a bump for Garrard?
Sink or swim on the passing game.Garrard is the #2 playmaker on the team behind MJD. If the running game is hobbled, Garrard may put up inflated fantasy stats. The Jags may finish behind the Colts and Titans now, but Garrard's numbers could inflate.
