Jacoby Jones (1 Viewer)

I've tried the Jacoby Jones experiment a couple times over the years and I've been burned. The guy just doesn't seem that capable.

That said, I looked at his lines last year down the stretch, and especially with AJ out the last couple weeks and came away impressed:

12/13 vs Bal -- 5-52-1

12/19 @ TN -- 7-50-0

12/26 @Den -- 5-115-0

Not bad.

I feel like he's being dismissed a bit for this week's priority claims.

Anyone making him a priority? And over whom?

I'm also wondering how many people believe he will produce decent numbers in AJ's absence. I'm going to put in a bid, but don't if I'll actually start him, should I win

Am I right in thinking that it has been Walter who has shown up in this situation in the past? And possibly Daniels also?

Or not?

Walter's had some pretty nice bye week games while filling in for Johnson hasn't he?

ETA: One other possibility - perhaps James Casey (TE/FB) gets involved. This guy has terrific potential.

I wonder about both Jones and Walter. I'm especially interested to hear from those who have watched Jones and Walter play when AJ has been out as far as how they looked on the field. For these two, I feel like numbers and targets can only tell us so much.

Jacoby Jones might be the most frustrating player I own. He's one of those guys that does JUST enough on the field and has JUST enough potential that I can't drop him in my PPR Dynasty league. He's 27, he's inconsistent, and the fact he hasn't passed KEVIN WALTER on the depth chart really makes me wonder. I never consider starting him, and even now I have to see it before I start him because I believe it'll be other players that step up in his place. Even if he flops, I can't drop him. He's consistently the 5th or 6th best receiver on my team, but after drafting 3 receivers this year in the rookie draft hopefully at least one steps up so I can get rid of Jacoby Jones.

Agree on Jones frustration.

Thing is somebody has to replace AJ in terms of stretching the field. That's Jones, not Walter.

At home against Oakland, I'd gather that Kubiak is going to lean on A. Foster in a huge way. He can probably get away with an offense that is geared towards 1. Running and 2. Play action to the TEs. And if Houston gets the lead, forget about it...Jones probably useless.

Now the next week @Balt would be a different story. You're not going to get away with that. Somebody needs to step up.

WRBC someone will have a big game but good luck figuring out who it will be on a week to week basis.

I always gave Jacoby a shot each year before this, but the guy lacks something, he didn't really produce with Walter out and AJ playing opposite him....thats pretty sad.

This guy has been on my team for 4 years. 4 YEARS!!!

I can't drop him. It's like some illogical force field around that little drop click-bubble next to Jones, Jacoby WR HOU.

He SHOULD be able to do something. Talent and size in a really good offense with a dominant WR opposite him. And yet, nada.

I actually received a trade offer for him. Jacoby for a 3rd in dynasty. Didn't pull the trigger. Gonna try to get a 2nd for him now that Johnson is banged up. Once I trade him though, he will go off.

I finally dropped him in PPR dynasty when I realized he'll never be start worthy - even with AJ out. The fact that Walter can step in and outproduce him told me everything I need to know.
