My options for RB#2 were Gio, Dixon, and AMo. I just picked up Rodgers and plan to start him.
Starting him in 3 leagues, two of which are Martin/Sims joint ownership leagues. Desperate would be apt to describe it but I would or am using him over all of those RB's based strictly on usage as all of those RB's are more talented but either minimal or split roles where I see Quiz as more of the primary.I'm so desperate I'm tempted.
In my mind, J. Rodgers falls squarely in the group that is K. Dixon, W. Smallwood, D. Washington, J. Richard this week.
Who else would touch the ball for TB?
Are you sure roto broke the story? Someone grabbed him in my league yesterday. I was perplexed and went to Roto to see why. There was nothing.I Jacquizzed in my pants he was still a FA one hour after RW broke the story. He's my Blount insurance.

I am starting D. Washington (OAK) over Rodgers. Just feel like the matchup vs SD at home is too good. Could see some explosive plays. Plus, there was rumor the staff wanted him more involved.I was able to pick up both Washington and Richard of OAK (hedging the bet for potential long term opporunity/lottery ticket) and starting Washtington along with Ryan Mathews (who is putrid)....Yeah, I know it's not great thus I am contemplating dropping Richard and snagging Rodgers to start with Washington. Rodgers is clearly a one week fill in whereas Richard (and or Washington for that matter) potentially provide better long term upside. I know this is not the AC forum but for those of you who are contemplating picking up Rodgers, what are your thoughts on this and who are you contemplating starting him over and why?
I only have one league that does not run blind bid waivers on Wednesday and Friday and allows FCFS waivers. In that league I picked him up on Thursday and the blind bid waiver leagues I picked him up last night where I needed him.Are you sure roto broke the story? That's all well and good but the point here is where did the info come from, at first? It wasn't roto and I would like to know.http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6482/jacquizz-rodgers
the story that I saw that made it clear (at least to me) that JR is an every-down back Monday night, and for me in a PPR league where TB will be playing from behind. JR actually helped me win a deep, big-money league one year, a league which was 2 QB, 0.5 PPR where I went "empty-backfield" in the draft and ended up scooping up guys like JR as FAs.
Guy in your league prob more clever than me.

Rodgers was more of a common sense pick up yesterday. Sims didn't practice thursday or friday and left the field with an injury at one point on sunday. The story wasn't broken so much as it was obvious to see for anyone looking. Sims not practicing today sealed it.That's all well and good but the point here is where did the info come from, at first? My opponent has Sims too. And no one else to play. He will be forced to pick up rainey, fozzy whitaker, or rodgers to play. They are the only decent optionsYes over both in my opinion. White would get more work if it was going to be a competitive game, it won't be. Gio is not a 3 down back. I'm going with volume of Rodgers over their 3rd down ability, even if they are more talented
I don't think anyone thinks much of his talent but he had two seasons he put up fantasy numbers in the high 8's per game and that was playing as backup/passing down back only. I can't speak for rest of crowd but if he can tack on about 2-4 more points and get me 11-13 I'm good and that does not seem like to much to ask considering his anticipated usage. If you have ever watched Rodgers play football, you would not put him in your line-up. Low floor and low ceiling. You're basically wasting a space. He's had opportunities in the past and has done just about nothing with it. He brings new meaning to the word "sluggish."
If Rainey is available in your league, I would recommend him all day long over Rodgers.
Definitely don't agree. Rainey is going to split carries in a pass heavy game against a very good run defence. Rodgers will only be getting a few rest reps assuming Sims is out (and even if Sims plays he's the lead back). And it's not like Rainey's a better talent. If you have ever watched Rodgers play football, you would not put him in your line-up. Low floor and low ceiling. You're basically wasting a space. LmaoQuizz runs like a fat kid in a rain coat. It's amazing that the RB landscape is so barren right now that a fat kid in a rain coat is likely flex worthy.
I'm sticking with my rbsQuizz runs like a fat kid in a rain coat. It's amazing that the RB landscape is so barren right now that a fat kid in a rain coat is likely flex worthy.
He was on my radar as an add in a deep PPR league assuming he'd get the 3rd down back work in CHI. I wrote him off when he got cut there, but now he's a must add if you need RB help. 10 pts is like an absolute floor if he's starting. He might have a higher floor than E. Eliot in a PPR.Even the Bears waived this guy and they have one of the least talented rosters in the league.
Rodgers isn't any less talented than Rainey - and he'll get more opportunity. If you have ever watched Rodgers play football, you would not put him in your line-up. Low floor and low ceiling. That's fine but why didn't they write anything on Quizz's wall? Was that not an obvious addendum?Rove! said:In Roto...
10/4 Sims to see role reduced
10/4 Sims dealing with injury
10/4 Sims not at Practice
10/6 Sims still not at practice
10/7 Sims not at practice
writing has been on the wall all week
I would think their coach has had a good look at him. Koetter was offensive coordinator in Atlanta when Rodgers was there. He must have been impressed enough to sign Rodgers in TBIf the coaches thought Simms did poorly, wait until they get a good look at Rodgers
Because roto is not the end all be all of info? Sometimes they miss things? Which is why you should be using multiple resources to find out your fantasy information. I recommend twitter, follow rapoport and schefter. You will get the drop on your league 95% of the time following them. That's fine but why didn't they write anything on Quizz's wall? It might be the 4 IPAs I've had tonight, but I laughed out loud at this. Thank you!Quizz runs like a fat kid in a rain coat. It's amazing that the RB landscape is so barren right now that a fat kid in a rain coat is likely flex worthy.
This conversation started with a poster saying roto broke the news. I said they didn't. And was just curious who did.Because roto is not the end all be all of info? Sometimes they miss things? Right there with you. Thanks to byes/injuries, I'm just desperate enough to think about start him in a couple of PPR leagues. Have to decide between Quizz and Ajayi. My memory of his was as a Dexter McCluster-style tease -- frequently hyped because of the opportunity, but never delivered. So I looked over his game log for the past few years. He literally hasn't had a start-worthy stat line since 2013, when he had a nice four-week run early in the season. Since then he's exceeded 50 YFS only once, in a Week 17 blowout in 2014.
I still may start him over Richard, but man, do I not feel good about it.
I'm doing the same. Playing him over Dixon. With West coming off a good week, I imagine Dixon will be somewhat limited this week in snaps. That means your gambling that he breaks one for a big play. Rodgers is the opposite. Doubt he does anything amazing, but if he can average 3.5 YPC, he should at least end up with 5-7 pts as his floorAll three of Bloom/Dodds/Tremblay just increased J. Rodgers projections.
In my 0.5 PPR league he's now grouped right with the Matt Jones, Duke Johnson, and Gio's of the world. RB #25 ish. Tremblay actually has him up at RB #16.
Debating J. Rodgers over both W. Smallwood and K. Dixon. I have this bad feeling that Rodgers will deliver some middling line of 12-41-0, 3-23-0 but that could still be better than anything Smallwood or Dixon deliver in limited touches.
This was actually the source link.Rodrigo Duterte said:Are you sure roto broke the story? Someone grabbed him in my league yesterday. I was perplexed and went to Roto to see why. There was nothing.
Yeah I'm sure they know what he is - I really just meant that if they think Sims has been bad (re: reduced role comments) then they shouldn't expect much from Rodgers, since IMO Sims is actually a pretty good player and Rodgers is a retread.I would think their coach has had a good look at him. Well he has hardly had the opportunity, also.My memory of his was as a Dexter McCluster-style tease -- frequently hyped because of the opportunity, but never delivered. Great info. Keep us posted, just in case we forget to "check back" with you.zftcg said:Couldn't pull the trigger. Sat him for Richard. Right now I'm fairly happy, but check back with me if he goes nuts tomorrow night.
Will do. And you keep us posted when you regain your ability to recognize a joke. We're all pulling for you!Great info. Keep us posted, just in case we forget to "check back" with you.
