Jacquizz Rodgers (1 Viewer)

16 team league with a bench of 3:  dropped him because I think he's out at least another week (i.e. misses Week 10) and Martin is looming to return.  if healthy, I suspect Rogers will still have value relieving Martin (10 touches/game), but I fear his foot sprain is more serious than we think.
Generally a safe assumption with foot sprains.

anyone else rb desperate enough to add and pray?  practicing now and who knows.  (disclosure: also holding C Simms and praying)

anyone have a guess how many touches he might get w/ martin back?

ESPN Bucs reporter Jenna Laine confirms the team is hoping Jacquizz Rodgers "can step in for Doug Martin these first three games."

Rodgers has mixed in with the first-team offense early in training camp. As Martin is suspended for Weeks 1-3, Rodgers is set up to start against Miami, Chicago, and Minnesota, all defenses that ranked in the bottom half of Football Outsiders' run-defense DVOA last year. Rodgers averaged well over 20 touches per game across five starts in 2016. Quizz is a very attractive fantasy pick at his double-digit-round Average Draft Position.

According to ESPN Bucs reporter Jenna Laine, Jacquizz Rodgers stands a chance at unseating suspended RB Doug Martin for the starting job.

Per Laine, "there's always the possibility that Rodgers -- whom teammates have praised for exceptional vision and toughness and coaches love for his versatility -- could win the job (over Martin). Rodgers will get a three-game audition in Weeks 1-3 after re-signing with the Bucs for two years and $3.3 million. Martin's role when he returns from suspension is to be determined.

Not buying. Rodgers has proved an average at best RB at carrying the ball, although a decent receiver out of the backfield. Tampa Bay's GM has already admitted Martin needs a dangling carrot. Just a motivational tactic.

That sounds like a sell window opening on Quizz. If the Martin owner is nervous about his week 1 lineup, it is time to send some offers.

What does everyone think of Jeremy McNichols? It seems like Tampa is at least open to the idea of competition.

I know he was drafted in the 5th but he was also expected to have shoulder surgery following the combine (or the draft?) so it seems reasonable that might have been a factor in teams passing on him.

JM also played in the same offensive system the Bucs use for three years and his college coach was quoted as saying that he will know all the blocking schemes and language the day he walks in.

He had monster production on the same team as Jay Ajayi and has "rare hands" according to the Bucs GM.

Come week 8 is he Ernest Graham 2017?

I agree.  I don't think he can withstand the pounding of a primary back for a whole season either.

Opportunity >> Talent. He has a good shot at 250 total yards and 2 TDs in his first three weeks. I'm buying him at his current price wherever I can.

No brainer for guy who drafts Martin. Not sure he's worth anything otherwise. Fantasy play-offs aren't in the first 3 games.

No but banking two wins to help a playoff spot or racking up.points for a points title is important too
Especially with the built-in advantage of being able to either drop him for the hot waiver pickup or stash you wanna snag or trade him to the Martin owner who has been kicking himself for the last two weeks and then snagging the hot waiver pickup or stash you wanna grab.
