**Jaguars at Texans** (+3, 43) (1 Viewer)

Both teams don't really have motivation to go all out in this one. Wouldn't be surprised if Lawrence sits if his toe isn't 100%. Houston meanwhile doesn't want to lose the #1 pick. Gonna resemble a preseason game by the 2nd half.

Houston has played Jacksonville tough the last few years, for some reason The Jags have struggled in this matchup. Not this time. Trevor has figured some things out,the Jags defense is playing well. Texans will play tough with nothing on the line but being a spoiler. The only negative I see for The Jags is that this game really means nothing,it'll all be on the line for them next week, but they're playing well and will want to keep momentum going,so...

Jaguars- 34
Texans- 20

Are we trusting the Jag passing game? Houston seems to be a run funnel D and at some point it makes sense for the Jags to sit starters for next week when it matters.

I'm going against Lawrence and Etienne, so I'm hoping that the Jags play it safe and rest these guys or at least play them sparingly.

A Houston win and Chicago loss moves Houston to the #2 pick. That could be devastating since they need the QB and Chicago doesn't. Bears could trade it away to the highest bidder.

I was trying to figure this out
If Jax wins tomorrow vs Houston, does the Titans game matter Week 18?
Can the Jags win the Division tomorrow?

This game has no bearing on the division. It all comes down to next week.

Yep. Nothing matters tomorrow. Only next week.

Houston also plays a clearly tanking Indy next week as well. #1 pick is far from locked up
I feel like Houston will not appear to be tanking but do everything they can to make sure they lose.

I feel like Jax Jags Defense is a wildcard today, cannot understand why Houston would want to lose that .5 game lead on the No 1 pick. It is so much easier to just grab who you want at No 1 for a franchise QB vs being a slot or two down and either trading '23 1st perhaps t move up a slot or two, just makes no sense, play calling should be high risk plays all day that have the likelihood for disaster...that said I know better and the fact the Jags aren't really playing for much today is not good.
Defense/ST on the road with no real interest in the outcome...OOF!

The Jags can't win the division today, but they can put themselves in position for the wildcard even with a loss to the Titans. They need the Dolphins and Jets to lose today to setup the not all that crazy scenario.
