Jake Delhomme Temper Tantrums (1 Viewer)

Every time sometime goes wrong for this guy on the field. He starts flailing his arms in the most HILARIOUS fashion. Has he always done this? Haha, because I don't think that's the composure you want out of your starting QB. It seriously happens multiple times during every Panthers game I watch.

Steve Smith's annoying childish temper tantrums are MUCH worse that Delhomme's , much more childish, much more annoying..I'd rather watch Delhomme than Peyton Manning, what with all of his pre-snap theatrics and posturing and posing, only to hand the ball off to Addai for a 1.5 yard gain.. :football:

You are in luck, by the looks of things he will not be on the field much more.

Panthers are 0-3, two of the best teams in the NFC are in their division and their defense is in shambles. Season is donzo, time to play Matt Moore. San Francisco is laughing all the way to the bank, they are now in the Bradford sweepstakes.

Bill Cowher is on the phone with Jerry Richardson as we speak.

Jake is emotional and firey. It's part of his cajun personality. He has always been very animated with his emotions. I don't mind seeing fire in a QB.

He does look like a little kid doing it, but we should realize the golden rule of Offense 101...QB's are always right, it's the WR's fault if the ball is intercepted.

There is no way they can start Delhomo another game. He has single handedly cost them all 3 games. Their backup punter could do a better job as QB...hand-off the ball to Williams and Stewart every play and no INTs for TDs and you may actually get some points.
:lmao: Why aren't they running the ball more? I haven't watched their entire games, but every time I have it on they seem to be doing well with the ground game.

Pisses me off that they put the outcome of the game into the QB's hands and they have a great RB carrying the ball just 11 times. 5.5 YPC last year, 5.8 in this game, and they were within a TD the whole game until that pick 6 INT... and just 11 effing carries for DWill.

Good, I'm glad they lost by relying on Delhomme's arm instead. Idiots.

He didn't cost the Panthers the game against the Falcons, and last night those interceptions were just as much as the WR's faults as it was Jakes. They should have ran the ball more in the second half when they were only trailing by 6, but the OC wanted to throw the ball. I don't get why they didn't stay a balanced offense last night.

You must not be a Manning owner. I love how he flaps his arms like a bird, yells something inflammatory at the defense, spins around and tell Addai to block this time, and then whips a 45 yard laser to Wayne. I think it's hilarious.

"Delhomo"? Is that necessary?

After last night's game, yes. Well, no, not really. Well, maybe.

He didn't cost the Panthers the game against the Cardinals,
5 interceptions and a fumble couldn't have helped their chances much.

I meant the Falcons.

He is clearly frustrated. During the pick-6 play late in the game last night, right after the ball is intercepted he looks incredulous and makes a hand gesture towards SSmith like 'you were supposed to be over THERE!!' Then he realizes the play is still live and starts running towards Newman...Muhammed was just pushing off and not going after the ball; Smith was mouthing off and (apparently) not running the routes he was supposed to run.

as a DeAngelo Williams owner in about 80% of the leagues I play in, I would give my left testicle for Cowher to replace Fox.Seriously. Just the thought of Cowher at the helm in Carolina produces an erection. In fact, I have to change my shorts now.

The first INT was clearly Delhomme's fault. He underthrew Muhammad by 10 yards. It is hard to keep making excuses for Delhomme when he has 15 turnovers in his last 4 games. Seriously, how can you even think about defending him at this point? How can a team win when their QB averages close to 4 turnovers per game?

The proximity to Raleigh is a definite plus for the Panthers but I am afraid it is going to turn into an all out bidding war for him. One of those guys on CBS or NFL network said his price tag is going to start at 6 mil. The Panthers have a ton of key pieces in place and may make it attractive to Cowher. After lasts nights game it is a foregone conclusion that Peppers is gone after this year. He is stealing from the Panthers with his horrendous play. He acts like he just doesnt care.

sounds like the team has lost confidence in their QB. wouldn't you?

I prefer my QB to immediately run to the sideline like Marino rather than attempt a tackle after an INT.
Ideally the QB would at least pretend he is going to tackle to force the guy inside so someone else can tackle him. In this case, Delhomme should try to make the tackle since it wouldn't be a loss to the team if he gets hurt. Who is the Panther's backup btw?

I don't think either of the interceptions were Delhomme's fault.

Did you see the game? Muhammad had a step on the corner and Delhomme underthrew him by 10 yards. How can that now be the QBs fault? Are you fishing here?

Will Matt Moore be conferring Drew Bledsoe over a new webpage?

Of course I saw the game or I wouldn't have commented.
well then, how was that not Delhomme's fault? Are you saying Muhammad didn't have a step on the CB and that the ball wasn't underthrown? You might want to go back and take another look at that one. Even the commentators said the ball was underthrown and if even they noticed you know it was very underthrown.

well, the one interception I saw was underthrown and right into the hands of the defender. I do agree the Receiver could have done something to break it up, and didnt, but you cant go and say it his his fault. If The pass wasnt underthrown in the first place, the situation would not have come up.Those kind of interceptions are 25% the fault of the Receiver, and 75% the fault of the QB. the ones I blame on the WR are the ones that go into the hands of the WR, are not caught, and instead get tipped upwards and intercepted. Those ones I dont blame on the QB at all unless the throw was such a rocket it was basically uncatchable.

delhomme just doesn't have the zip or arm strength to get the ball deep anymore. he is done. they need to move forward. it's a shame that they've wasted the last 5 or so years of steve smith's career.

i feel for him as much as andre johnson his first 5 seasons or so with carr throwing him the rock.

In any case, the entire Panther team seems to be working at cross-purposes. They have no identity now and it will only get worse as someone will look to assign blame for their poor play.

I wouldnt call a Superbowl appearance, a NFC championship game and a couple of division titles as "wasted" but I get your point. It boggles my mind that the Panthers didnt at least go after Cassel for a 2nd and now Thigpen for whatever he went for. Cassel seems like jake in his early days of managing a game and not doing stupid stuff to lose it. A seasoned starting QB for a 2nd round pick is basically a steal in the NFL. I still would love to see Derek Anderson winging it out to Steve Smith. Jake doesnt have the arm to utilize Smith anymore.
