Background: This is a four-man brother-in-law league. So obviously everyone is loaded with studs at every position. Brother-in-law #1 has great receivers but is thin at RB (T. Henry, S. Davis, W. Green, T. Barber). Brother-in-law two has ample RB's. The two traders in question work together and are basically best friends. I've been riding Brother-in-law #1 all year about his RB situation (thats just what we do). At present I'm tied for first with Brother-in-law #1, Brother-in-law #2 is two games behind and is quite aways behind in the tie-breaker (total pts).At present there are a total of 24 free-agent kickers available The trade deadline is this week.So I ask, does this seem like collusion to you?

The trade stinks, but you guys are so loaded i dont think it matters. A four team brother and law league? What are you guys?, The clampetts?

Frankly, in a four team league, I can't imagine Williams is worth much of anything more than a top kicker after the last few weeks... of course, I have no experience with a four-teamer. Anyone else?

Go ask Dad!I can't stop laughing and I'm not sure exactly why I find this post so humorous. If was a bit shorter might make a good signature. :rotflmao:

Stock AnswerYes. It is collusion. They are secretly planning to use Boldin (Or maybe Seabass too) in a sinister plot to destroy the NFL from within.Veto the trade now, before they succeed.Please.

I dont know how you have any fun at all in a 4 man league. Everyone has a stud at every position, even if they are retar-ded.

All right, some of you have had your fun but this is a real question. Two of us in the league are active in other "real" leagues (10-12 members). The other two had never played FFL but were intrigued when they heard us compare notes over the years. Since these two work together in a small private business they don't have the opportunity to easily find participants from work. The whole thing was last second (we even missed wk1) and I was reluctant to join given the apparent lack of challenge. However, once things got going the in-family competition heats up and it has been somewhat entertaining. Soooo..., back to the question. In my mind obtaining R. Williams (Mia) for a kicker (in a league in which only the top 4 kickers are taken) smacks of "sweetheart deal". Granted R. Williams has been weak lately but it certainly gives a guy with T. Henry, S. Davis, T. Barber, W. Green some other options. Remember this is a 4-man league and this set of RB's is by far and away the worst collection.

In a 4 team league?? NO! You should each have 8 starting RBs! In a 12 or 14 team league it would not happen!

The guy could start S.Davis And Tiki every week and not miss a beat.

So in a nutshell, you have to give them the benifit of doubt that they dont realize how lopsided this trade would be in a "real" league. Let it go before you ruin thanksgiving! And this is the last time im going to be remotly serious on this thread... :D

Give the guy a break. I play in 12 real leagues myself. I get together on sundays with a few of my buddies to drink beer and tell lies etc. After a season of them watching me sit in front of the computer, watching for updates instead of telling "blond jokes" they decided to form a six team fun league, and each of us tossed $20 into the pot. Everybody is loaded, and it's all luck, but we have fun with it. These guys have no interest in doing the research necessary to be competitive in a real league, but at this level, it gives everybody something to talk about, and its fun. To answer the question, it probably is colusion, but in reality, it may not be that bad a trade. Ricky is really just a good #3 back in a four team league. Drof

In this type of "league" all trades should be approved; even if they obviously reek of collusion. You are playing for fun, for bragging rights, to talk smack over the Thanksgiving turkey. Have fun with it. Anything goes.... :excited:

I would say no, it's not collusion. Here's why:1) Williams and the Miami offense have been pathetic recently. Heck, Williams is barely worth starting in a 12-team league. However, he COULD turn it around and do well down the stretch, but anyone that watched the last 2 games will tell you that defenders were shooting through the Miami OL at will and hitting Williams 5 yards behind the LOS. Williams is averaging 6 points per week over the past month, good enough for #31 of all RBs.2) The drop from Vanderjact to Sebass isn't huge, but enough to make a difference. Over the past month, Vanderjact has been averaging 11.6 points, SeBas has been averaging 5.9.So net effect:Team 1 adds Williams (who adds depth and gives him a potential game breaker IF the Dolphins can start blocking) and adds Sebass who has been good earlier in the year, but is playing on a team that is falling appart (no QB, questionable running game, tough schedule).Team 2 adds the best kicker in the league on one of the league's hottest offenses. The addition of Vanderjact will not only cover the loss of his kicker (5.9) but cover almost all of his loss of WIlliams (6 points; Vanderjact = 11.6 vs. Williams & SeBass 11.9 per week for the past month). This is a risky trade, but it's very possible that Team 2 will come out the clear winner here, especially if Ricky craps out down the stretch. It's risky, but not collusion.

I will try and make an effort to answer this before it gets locked...Vandy is the best kicker in the league, and puts up more consistant numbers than any of the other "top four"Williams is at best a backup RB in that league and probably wouldnt start over Henry or Davis most weeks anyhow. If anything they guy getting guaranteed points at kicker is getting a steal.I would assume teh only way to win this "league" is to have the #1 player at each position.
