Jason Witten - Injured Shoulder (1 Viewer)

Last night Witten injured his shoulder. He ended up playing with a hurt shoulder and finished the game. They announced this morning that XRays were negative, but that he was going to go through further tests.

Based upon how he played, I would not think it is anything bad. However I think SportsCenter said it was a shoulder separation.

Here's hoping it was just a stinger. :suds:

An unconfirmed rumor said he had to have his shoulder popped back in during the game. He is quickly becoming one of fav players of all time. Played with a broken jaw wired shut, runs down field with no helmet on and now this.

Here is this from DallasCowboys.com

Witten left the game briefly with what trainers said was a separated A.C. joint in his right shoulder, but the All-Pro tight end returned later and finished with the team lead in receptions and receiving yards. A Cowboys trainer said an injury like Witten's is very common, and the Cowboys had four or five crop up in training camp alone, so Witten shouldn't miss any time.

And this from the Dallas Morning News

Witten wasn't in the locker room very long after his shoulder popped out for the second quarter -- just long enough for the athletic training staff to put it back in the socket and gave him a pain-killing shot.

The guy is tough as nails. He'll play next week. Though I wonder about his effectiveness if his range of motion is impacted.

I wouldn't make it in pro football. :goodposting:

Glad to see Witten is most likely good to go but I think Bennett could fill the pass catching role rather well to fill in for a couple of games. Not saying he would do as well as Witten but he can be dangerous.

I don't see any way that it actually popped out. Because when it happened, he got up and went back to the huddle and played in at least one more play before going to the sideline. No way he actually played a snap with his shoulder out of joint.

Tony G is they last True TE who actually is a TE that is a good reciever. All of these guys are just WR's and line-up as such on most plays. Hard to compare them players in years past whose job it was to block.

Yeah, Witten isn't a good blocker. :goodposting:

This is a fantasy football site. We don't get points for blocking anyway. I wish all TEs could lineup out wide like Winslow and Witten.

I actually think Tong G amongst the first TEs (Shannon Sharpe comes to mind as well) who wasn't actually a TE but a big receiver.

Study all the tight ends' blocking abilities, do you? That's tough, thankless work.

 You've gotta love Witten (even though he has a lousy team, organization, fan base, state and uniform that he plays for/in). ;)

You'd love Desmond Clark...

Yes, and Ali G is the last true hip hop interviewer.

That is conflicting information on the injury. It says he has a separated AC joint, and then that his shoulder popped out of the socket- which is a dislocation. These are 2 totally different injuries.

I've had a grade-2 AC joint separation, it is very painful & heals slowly. For reference- It was difficult to even lift a baby above shoulder height for weeks, and it was 2-3 months before I could throw a ball pain-free.

I've done this before.

Good news - it is immediately as bad as it's going to get, so if he played through yesterday he will certainly be fine going forward.
