Javon Walker done for the season (1 Viewer)

Javon Walker told reporters Thursday that he needs surgery to repair his injured ankle and that his season is over."I'm done for the season," Walker said. "They've got to put some screws in." The Raiders haven't commented. Arthroscopic ankle surgery would usually only put a player out 3-5 weeks, but it appears Walker is packing it in after a season that made it look like he'll never be a significant NFL contributor again. Walker is due $9 million in 2009, including a $5 million roster bonus in the spring. Nothing can be ruled out with Al Davis, but it will be stunning if Walker gets that money. Well... there goes the Raiders' chances of making the playoffs...

I called this in that big ### thread this summer when he took a beating in Vegas that he would be out for the year at some point this season and would never play again. I am smart; winner winner!

How far this guy has fallen? Man o' man.

Maybe there is more or less going on than what we actually know. Having someone die in your arms has to have lingering effects. But the guy did get $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$4.

Ted Thompson looking pretty smart with his decision to trade Walker

either blind luck or he saw red flags in Javon's character

Well...

I am trying to figure out if we (yes, I am a Raider fan  ) need a WR or a OL more, thinking in terms of our early draft 1st round pick... Detroit looks like the fav for 1st overall.... so with the 2nd? 3rd? 4th?

I would suggest drafting a new owner in round 1... its the only hope.

Al needs to retire. I am not going to disagree there.
Al doesn't need to retire, he's already dead. There is some diabolical person in the room above him pulling strings to make him move just like the "Crypt Keeper". Bet it's the same person because the voices sound awfully alike.

This is good. It opens the door for other unerachieving ##### WR's around the league. Instead of being thrown out of the NFL they make about ten million with the Raiders and ride off into the sunset.

How deep must your roster be to warrant owning this guy in a dynasty league now? 25? 28?
He was on my 22 man roster. He was in the final year of a 3 year deal I signed him to. Cut him for Antonio Bryant...

Would he be your 23rd guy, if you had the chance? I wonder what other people think about him in dynasty format in light of this news. He's on the wire in some of my leagues. 22 man, 20 man and a 25 man
