I kind of figure he will be gone next game. That seemed more like blind luck to me. I have no idea why Chris didn't get the final. I thought the date 1609 made it pretty plain it had to be Shakespeare. No comment on tonight's game? I loved Chris, but that new guy was a deserving winner.
Yeah, that new guy strikes me as the Buster Douglas of Jeopardy. Caught Chris off his game but probably will be fat and out of work in short order.I kind of figure he will be gone next game. When you almost always make huge wagers on the DDs, eventually one is going to trip you up. But he still made a good comeback.Yeah, that new guy strikes me as the Buster Douglas of Jeopardy. Once Chris finally missed that DD, it looked bad for him.
Chris seemed slower on the buzzer than usual. Dunno if the other players were fast or if he was just off.Yeah, that new guy strikes me as the Buster Douglas of Jeopardy. If you wager $-200 then you should get money by getting it wrong.A couple days ago, contestant hits a DD with -$200. "I like to make it a true daily double." She quickly corrected herself.
Who else enjoyed the ladies FJ from last week about the president who was sworn in twice, once by his brother and then by a former president, and her answer was what looked like a merged T and F Roosevelt.
Or the Latin Phrases one this week "This 3 word phrase...." and one guy answered Placebo.
And someone else answered a phrase that was not in Latin, which the clue called for.Who else enjoyed the ladies FJ from last week about the president who was sworn in twice, once by his brother and then by a former president, and her answer was what looked like a merged T and F Roosevelt.

And didn't know what a Fish Stick wasNew champion is a bit unorthodox..
Bet $5 on a daily double...
He’s an odd guy for sure. I thought the Final Jeopardy yesterday (which the other two missed) was difficult, but maybe I’m dumb.New champion is a bit unorthodox..

He was VERY Canadian, what with saying “please” all the time. Mattea could pass for American. Not this guy,He’s an odd guy for sure. I thought the Final Jeopardy yesterday (which the other two missed) was difficult, but maybe I’m dumb.New champion is a bit unorthodox..

Surprised to see there hadn’t been any discussion in here of the Canadian super-champ that he beat.
Last person I remember doing that was Arthur Chu. He made no bones about not knowing anything about sports and would bet $5 whenever he got a sports DD.New champion is a bit unorthodox..
Bet $5 on a daily double...
I had read some articles about his constant swaying/twisting, and viewers being annoyed by it "Why can't they just tell him to stop moving....". It never bothered me, and when I read it was because he has spinal cord damage and needed to keep moving to keep his legs from cramping it was understood. I am pretty sure if I was filming the 5th episode of a day I would not be standing still either. Just saw an article with some past winners asking if they should start allowing contestants to sit if it makes them more comfortable. He’s an odd guy for sure. I had no idea WTF the clue referred to. And I haven't seen or heard of anyone eating a fish stick in about thirty years. Even the Gorton's FIsherman ads have gone away. And didn't know what a Fish Stick wasNew champion is a bit unorthodox..

I'm waiting for his twin to play.Surprised to see there hadn’t been any discussion in here of the Canadian super-champ that he beat.
You've gotta figure they're gonna put the twin on if his online test/Zoom audition is at all passable.I'm waiting for his twin to play.Surprised to see there hadn’t been any discussion in here of the Canadian super-champ that he beat.
My son loves fish sticks and eats them all the time. He's 11. And the category was kids' food.I had no idea WTF the clue referred to. He seemed to only move that way when responding to clues. Didn't seem to do it in between or during interviews. Thought it was just his routine while thinking. Can be annoying but, IMO, not as much as some other contestants.I had read some articles about his constant swaying/twisting, and viewers being annoyed by it "Why can't they just tell him to stop moving....". The kids' food category is way easier if you have kids.I missed the fish sticks question, too.![]()

Gorton, too
He definitely has the potential to go on a streak. Interesting that he was a rival of James Holzhauer's in high school.New winner today, Yogesh, looked pretty good tonight (may just need to be a bit quicker on the buzzer). He’s a member of an online trivia site that I’m part of (LearnedLeague). He’s a buzzsaw there — could make a solid run.
How the heck did none of them get Scheherazade? I thought that was a gimme.

My wife and I tag-teamed it. She said, oh, that's from One Thousand and One Nights, and I said, Scheherazade. Dunno if I would have come up with it if not for her prompt. How the heck did none of them get Scheherazade? I thought that was a gimme.
so if I'm understanding this right, Jeopardy Masters is going to be a kind of league? And every year/season there will be past champs/great players brought back? Does the inaugural Masters champ also return to defend the crown? I can't wait to see a game played by James and hosted by Ken...Speaking of James, he will be returning in a primetime series called Jeopardy Masters along with Amy, Matt, Mattea, Andrew and Sam. https://ew.com/tv/jeopardy-masters-to-feature-highest-ranked-champions/
The new champ escapes defeat despite the other player getting both DD in Double Jeopardy. It appears that he will be around for a long while.
I thought the In The Bookstore Final was pretty easy.
I was looking back at his LearnedLeague history. There was a “Some Like It Hot” trivia contest last year that I completely rocked and got 12/12 correct. Thought I had a good chance of winning that contest, but ended up 2nd place out of almost 600. Yogesh beat me there because he allocated points slightly better than me.New winner today, Yogesh, looked pretty good tonight (may just need to be a bit quicker on the buzzer). He will need some more breaks like he got on Friday with the leader not knowing the FJ answer. But his knowledge base is excellent. If he can keep getting FJs correct, that will go a long way toward keeping him around. The new champ escapes defeat despite the other player getting both DD in Double Jeopardy. Variance is a thing yo
After his first game I was thinking this guy could win 50 in a row
He’s not great on the buzzer timing, though - he’s ringing in like 50-55 times a game and has been first only maybe 50-60% of his attempts
If he has another game like Friday - 4 incorrect after only missing 3 his first two games - he won’t make it to Supechamp (10 g) status
But his breadth is good enough I feel like he could go a long, long time
