It doesn't look like there are that many good RB candidates coming up in the next 5 years. Martin is clearly a better candidate and it's likely he gets in next year. After that, the next good candidate is Edgerrin James. I don't see anyone coming on the ballot for several years after that with a case over Bettis. Maybe the voters will take that opportunity to look at Terrell Davis but it seems the current voters don't value players who had a few great years and then had career ending injuries. Sterling Sharpe would be an example at WR. Maybe they'll go 5-10 years without electing any RBs. None of that seems likely. At some point, in a weak year, Bettis will get the 5th spot among modern candidates. (over a more deserving OL or defensive player)
