After a few days to stew on this I have come up with a theory. You have to think that the Penn St showers that he used was never totally deserted. Trainers, janitors, GA's etc. Why was it that Sandusky felt like he had free reign in there even after getting caught at least once? Why was he so open about it in a "public" shower? Seems to me that multiple people had to know about this including Paterno. Why did Joepa allow this to continue? Lots of unanswered questions here.

rumor is that one BOT member was heard saying "at least we made the right decision" when leaving the meeting.

I agree 100%, but at some point one of them has to step away from Happy Valley and see what is going on. Take the blinders off per se.

But you don't understand he followed the "protocol" so everything is fine. If there is one word that irritates me more in this whole debate it is that word. Listen to Lavaar Arrington on his radio show and that is his whole argument in defending Paterno that he followed the protocol that is involved with this situation so technically he did all that he needed to do. Which is correct but if emotions and morality played no part in this. The other thing is if you are going to play the "protocol" card then McQueary did the exact same thing. He saw the kid getting raped by Sandusky and reported it to Paterno who reported it to the athletic director. But nobody is giving McQueary the benefit of the doubt that Paterno did.

Believe or not I never really took Levar Arrington to be a really rational thinker. He never came across as sharp to me.

I think Joe Pa came out with the announcement that he will retire at the end of the season to make it harder for the BoT to remove him this week...one last power play if you will.I am actually somewhat optimistic that this strategy will fail. Someone stated earlier that the half-dozen or so individuals that knew about these allegations and did nothing need to be gone immediately. If the board has any sense at all this is exactly what is going to happen.We'll know in a few minutes.

Not sure if anyone has brought this up...in 2002 Paterno did the bare minimum legally to avoid getting in trouble down the line. Who would even know what the requirements are legally regarding somehting like this. His son is a lawyer. You have to wonder if his son advised him thats all he had to do legally and that was enough for him which would make it worse.

Here's one question about Paterno: If he had full knowledge of the shower incident, how would he of acted if it was one of his children or grandchildren that Sandusky was having rear intercourse with??????????????? in the shower on campus in his locker rooms??

I am disgusted and anyone with the knowledge of what has been taking place their for the last decade should be fired immediatley.

I would not be surprised if we see deaths (suicides) come out of this. I hope not!

This is really smelling like a LOT of people knew of something.Sandusky did this openly.Not like he had these issues and did his dirt in a different state, or in disguise.The incident where the janitor saw Sandusky giving a kid oral sex in 98 and that janitor apparently told the other janitors...I just feel this is something MANY people heard rumblings about.I think this issue will have many far reaching tentacles with PSU administrators, law enforcement, staff etc...

I read that 23 page grand jury indictment. It's online. He SHOULD be fired. President as well. Unfortunately, these guys think more like big CEO's than like fathers or community members. They only cared about protecting their multi-million dollar brand, which meant that no one could know what happened. So they swept it under the rug, which allowed it to continue for another decade.
