Jets RB's, any word? Hoping for C. Houston to carry the load. (1 Viewer)

Any NYJ homers have info on which way Mangini is going? Last I heard, Barlow was to play, but something about him being on special teams?

starting Houston over Glenn (in place of Maroney)

That's all the info there is.... unlike last week when Barlow was inactive, he will be activated this week, along with Houston and Washington.... he has been reported as having practiced with the ST's this week. Personal opinion: Houston will get the rock as he did last week but must play well, or Mangini would not hesitate to let Barlow give it a try.

All i want is 100 and a touch...is that too much to ask?

I'll settle for nothing less than that from CH.

I hate that this game is at 4:15. I'd like to go with Houston. All my potential replacements (Cadillac, S Morris) play at 1:00. Is there any chance we will get the active list before the 1:00 starts???

They'll all be active. It's hard to say, but I wouldn't be as excited to start Houston as some of the posters here. I still think Washington's the best back and Barlow might be the better GL back. It's just too hard to predict.

I'm not trying to turn this into a WDIS thread, but when my options are Glenn (I'm also starting Romo), Houston or DeShaun for the flex spot...IMO, Houston looks like the best option.

I've posted this in a few Houston threads. Barlow is NOT only going with the special teams (per Rotoworld)

While Cedric Houston took the bulk of the first-team carries in practice Thursday, Kevan Barlow also saw some action with the ones.

The Newark Star-Ledger speculates that the Jets will activate three running backs Sunday. Coach Eric Mangini says he'll play the runners that fit best versus the opponent, so Houston and Barlow (bigger backs) would seem to be the answer for smallish Buffalo. Houston is a strong flex but Barlow might end up vulturing some short-yardage carries.

Even if not PPR, I'd probably still lean to Glenn. I'd be concerned that Houston has a good chance of putting up 12 carries for 40 yards today. The Buffalo run D has been terrible, but they owened the Jets back in week three.Best of luck with whatever you do, and I hope that Houston gets 175/2 today. ;)

That's the dilemma I have. Fortunately, I have until 4pm to choose (Houston or Glenn). I'm hoping for a shoot out in the Dal/NO game (for my QB's sake)...I just don't know if I should put all my eggs in one basket and insert Glenn instead of gambling on Houston!

Come on homers, i need this one...somebody has got to be listening to a local show where it gets announced that Houston is gonna get he majority of the work...PLEASE!!!

Here's an opinion poll: Start CHouston or start both the Jacksonville backs?

It hasn't happened all year, and it's not going to start today. It's not Mangini's style to show his cards at all.

If it was my call..... Houston.

damn this sucks im trying to decide between Houston and Fason both similar positions any advice? :(
I have been struggling over this same problem all week. Except I also have Dunn in the mix. Here's what I'm thinking:I have not been impressed with Dunn at all lately, but I've been very impressed with Norwood. That scares me.Houston looked good last week, and if Barlow was going to be inactive this week, I'd lean his way. Instead, you're looking at Cedric, Leon & Barlow all splitting time. Who gets the TD from that 3-headed monster?Fason is the starter and Mewelde the 3rd down back. This is Fason's first big shot at proving himself as a starter in an NFL game. He also has a good matchup.I'm leaning toward Fason, but am still afraid I'll be kicking myself later if I pick the wrong guy.

alot of waiver wire scramblers here lol, i would gamble on Houston over Glenn. Im wondering starting both Fason and Houston and sitting J.Lewis damn this sucks!

Houston vs. Fason, I'd go with the safer bet... and that would be Fason. Barlow IS active. If Fason get s off to a bad start, he'll still play. Houston has to look good out of the gate, or Barlow lurks.

would you consider starting both and sitting Jamal Lewis?

I'm starting Houston over Cadillac with confidence. And by confidence, I mean wild a#% guess.
As am I. And not to be too self-congratulatory, but good work on making the playoffs despite drafting the debacle that has been Cadillac Williams this season.

I'm in NYC and we have as much of a ckue as you guys do. This coach makes Belichick look like a media darling. No one here has any idea what he'll do with the RB situation.....not even the media.

Luckily for me, I pulled Houston for MJ-D right before kickoff.

Per pinned thread, Barlow is inactive today.
