I like Rome and his shtick.  Hate Rome's listeners and their shtick.  The Smack-off is unlistenable.

I enjoyed this for a couple years, then it was all the same.  This was about 10 years ago.  Are all the same degenerates still calling telling each other they live in their mom's basement etc?

you might recognize some of the names that called in today (Seanie the Cabilanasian for the first time in a decade) but a lot of people from that long ago either stopped calling or only drop in once a year or less

Thanks.  Didn't hear his call (only caught 1/2 hour or less) but hes usually a top talent as far as these things go.  I'm sure it will be replayed ad naseum on Monday so I'll catch it then.

This is still a thing?  I don't even know if he's on the radio here in SoCal, and he's FROM SoCal.  

I used to listen to this guy on the daily maybe 15ish years ago, can't say the last time I've heard him.  Actually, the last time I've probably heard his voice was in person at a basketball game.  We went to the same college and since he's local, he typically goes to see "our" team in person when they're in town.  Saw him a couple years ago at said game.  He's kind of a #####, but guess it goes with the territory.

Man, Rome's show got pulled in my town a few years ago.  Totally forgot about this stuff.

I always enjoyed the schtick and it is pretty incredible how long it has lasted.

So apparently the Smack Off is on Friday.  I may check it out.  I usually listen to all of the shows after the fact, but I am really behind now.  I haven't listened since the Celtics-Heat series.

It’s also simulcast on CBS Sports Network, Sirius channel 158, as well as his website. 
It could be interesting as a dog may win it this year.

Paul's dog disappointed - he went way too long and almost got run.  There was a dude from Portland that did pretty well in his debut Smackoff.  The reappearance of Iafrate was a surprise; I figured he had it won after his call.  

I'm glad the title now resides in Wisco.

That's funny, as soon as you mentioned them I recall a time I saw them in an airport. Probably 10 years ago. They are both incredibly short LOL.

And yeah they are great when they guest host.

Haven't listened to Romey in a long, long time. Saw him at a basketball game (our college, UCSB, was playing locally) a few years ago.
