Jodi Arias case (1 Viewer)

Retrial of sentencing phase ended today. This jury was hung as well. The state was caught lying, destroying/hiding evidence, manipulating the crime scene and more. Estimated total tax payer cost for this case is guessed to be at least $7.5 million. Well done Arizona!
Way to #### this up, Woz.
Don't get me started on my State's reckless use of state funds to unnecessarily try to punish people at greater lengths.
She almost decapitated the guy by slitting his throat so deep. To think the prosecution wouldn't try to go after the death penalty is just plain dumb.

I meant the second time.

I had to watch her segment late last night to see her reaction, which didn't disappoint. We come back from commercial to 1/2 the screen is Arias's old tape of her singing an xmas song in jail and NG on the other side with her mouth hanging open and a disgusted look on her face. It was funny! After a minute of this, NG kept saying get rid of this tape! Either someone was intentionally trying to rattle her nerves or it was intentionally set up that way for the comical factor.

Also how wild is it that it was hung by only 1 woman? Another juror was sounding like he was almost in tears saying they spent hours trying to get her to see the light. Her response to why no death penalty was "just everything!" Either she didn't do her duty and diliberate or she came in under the false pretense that she is open to the death penalty.

Defiant to the end... She really should've gotten the death penalty. You gotta hear her final plea to the judge in this link, good riddance!

She acknowledged committing the crime and that she was "disgusted" and "repulsed" with herself. How is that defiant?

Note: She deserves life in prison and, frankly, what she says to the judge shouldn't matter to any significant extent.

ETA: I couldn't get the audio to play.

Huh??? You didn't hear it, so I don't understand your comment.Things she said:

"I didn't want this trial, it is his family's fault that they turned down my attempt to plea 4 times"

She said this while pleading for mercy :lmao:

She continued to throw he victim under the bus with her baseless claims

She stated she was abused. She said she was fighting for her life... Listen to the audio. She is absolutely awful.

Sick sociopath!

I love how she, like so many other defendants, think that victims have control of plea negotiations. I'm certain her lawyers explained to her dozens of times that this isn't true. :wall:

Listen to her statement, it's awful...

Sucks that one ####### juror ####ed this whole thing, she should be on death row. At least the judge did the right thing.

I will. I do find it incredibly odd that the article quotes her probably most reasonable and remorseful statement then. Generally, media wants to print the crazy when it comes to this stuff.

Yeah that was weird. She kept saying that Travis' family refused to settle. It's not a lawsuit honey.

Arizona actually has a pretty powerful victims rights statute that is read before hearings. Combine that with the popular myth that victims can "press" or "drop" charges than many disbelieve it when their lawyers explain that a plea and its terms come solely from the discretion of the prosecutor.

I got it to work using FireFox, it wouldn't play under Chrome.

I'm only halfway through it... God, she's awful.

A minute in to her "heartfelt" speech (complete with fake carefully spaced sniffles), a kid makes a noise and she turns around to glare daggers at him/her... how dare that kid take the spotlight way from her?
