Joe Needs Your Help - Bringing Back The Old MyFBG (1 Viewer)

Trash isn't working for me either, on the 50th try it does and then the players still all show are available and have been claimed.

I remember the good ol' days when the technology actually synced for us.... last year. :rant:

Oh, and when I try to unlink and relink to one of my leagues in Yahoo, the sync to yahoo is basically an endless hole. Keeps saying something about trying to see if you're already logged into yahoo, but nothing happens. 

Has anyone else been experiencing this same issue?

 
Same for me this morning. Syncing is broken- utilizing the myriad techniques that have been provided as band-aids, workarounds, etc.

Unless there is significant progress made as the season progresses, I'll have to look elsewhere next year. This is disappointing as I've been a customer for many years.

While I appreciated the apology email, we are paying handsomely for what is now a family of products that just don't work and I haven't seen any consideration to refund this year's fees for suffering through this debacle.

I was able to unlink & relink. Chrome 53.0.2785.143 MacBook Air iOS 10.11.6

Earlier I tried to switch to Firefox & when I tried to link my league I received a FBGs dialogue box I wasn't connected to the internet. Actually I could instantly load any site not sure what happened there.

Week 5. And 6 weeks since Joe started this thread.

So done with FBGs once my subscription runs out.

This is beyond frustrating as a paid subscriber for these services and having to fight through this BS every damn week!!!

Exact same problem. I can't even log in now. Says I don't have an internet connection.

now, when I try to follow the steps that @Simon Shepherd noted above, it takes me to the login screen... but when I try to login, it gives me the following error message:

"Please make sure you have an internet connection" 

I've been a loyal Paid subscriber for years, but at this point, i feel we need more than an apology. this is week 5 and there's still issues.

Seems like most of the staff or the one's that post the articles/or can fix things are on west coast time.  Frustrating indeed.

Yea, no worries about the time difference. I've had all kinds of issues and had resolved them last week by clearing cookies and cache, but even that doesn't work now. I was trying to unlink and relink and it gets stuck trying to login to Yahoo. Figured I would sign out and try to sign back in, and that's when I get this new error to check my internet connection. Guess I'll leave it be for now.

Now its showing players I had before my trade yesterday.  I synced it yesterday and had all the updates.  RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get that things break. If it's a major issue affecting all users, it's probably all hands on deck trying to resolve it (I'm being optimistic here.) So I'm OK with Simon or whoever not having time to post here or reply to emails "we're working on it."

But if I were an owner I might think about sending out a blast to subscribers or posting here "Guys, this problem is being actively worked on and we hope to resolve the latest issue soon."

That's not an unreasonable expectation, is it?

 
I'm having the same issues as noticed above.  Synch not working this morning, unlinked and cannot relink, got some error message about no internet connection...

Obviously a systemic issue yet again.  

Quite frustrating.

Just communication is all I'd like.  It's too hard to ask. Honestly I don't think it's being worked on till about Noon EST.

 
Ugh.  I went to my.footballguys.com (the New site) and told it to Import MyFBG Leagues and it said all of my leagues had not been brought into the new MFG (despite being listed right on the screen).  I told it to bring them in and they had a duplicate of every team.  Some linked (old) and some not (new).  I deleted all linked teams.  Linked the new ones.  Checked the rosters in the new (painful) MFG and they were right.

Went back to the old (usable) MFG.  Rosters still out of date.  I clicked the Sync All Leagues, it did and everything was up to date.  I am on Win7 with Chrome.

My advice is to go reimport from MyFBG, relink (which worked for me), and then delete the old leagues from my.footballguys.com.

Wow, systemic is a good way to describe what we are seeing. I was hoping that FBG would just stop messing with this but apparently they feel the need to continually F with their customers.  I expect to see another half-hearted email later this week or sometime in the future.

It feels like FBG is prepping for some major CBS Sports type move where they alienate most of us.  It is frustrating given the number of years I have subscribed and how much I enjoy the content.  I am hoping that they just hired / used some unqualified web developer and decided that they didn't need to test it.  I am in software and get it but this is a major mess up.  What I am seeing on the new site is only worthy of free usage, not paid.  It is untested and unreliable.  It doesn't work on my desktop, it doesn't work on my phone.  It doesn't work.

As a business person I also understand that they can't just extend everyone's subscription and take an entire year of revenue as a loss but I expect they will see a noticeable decline in subscriptions next year.  My 3 year sub is running out, the new 3 year doesn't make sense, and I will need to evaluate if I want to deal with this again.

 
Not to to diminish the issues of people who can't even link or sync their leagues, but I think perhaps the biggest issue is I'm afraid now to trust that it's working.  I sync my leagues and it appears to be working, so I wouldn't even think to check or complain, but then I see this thread get bumped and people saying that players are missing that they picked up yesterday, etc.  I'm not actually reconciling MyFBG with my league homepage to see if it's right, that defeats the purpose of syncing in the first place.  I've got a fairly high tolerance for frustration, and if I get an error message when I try to sync, that sucks but at least I know it's broken and can tell when it's been fixed.  But if everything looks like it's working, but it isn't, that's the point at which I stop using the product.

Mine works now.  I don't dare try on a desktop never works, I have to sync on my Iphone 3-4 times and then it goes.

Works on my MacBook air now. Actually having been using the iPhone app at all, seemed kind of dumbed down when I tried it earlier this year. Maybe I'll give it another shot.

Zero communication.

 
Seems to be good now.

I deleted the iPhone app months ago when Simon said it won't be as up to date as the actual site with bug fixes because of how the App Store process goes. So what's the point of the app?

Update.  I now have a league in there twice and can't delete it.  Ugh.  More erratic behavior.

 
@Joe Bryant The entries for all my leagues have doubled - there are literally two of each league in the selector screens. One of the entries for each league works, the other one doesn't (it doesn't show any people as being rostered). Help, please?
 
I was able to reconnect my Cbs league and synch it again just now. 

Looks like they added in some functional updates to the ten second primer.  I'm guessing these updates caused everything to break this morning or last night.

What kind of functional update?  It looks the same to me.

 
Glad I am not alone in my frustration. Not sure it's even worth it at this point. It's unreliable and maybe something we can't even trust.

I have to start over. That's beyond frustrating.

Almost seems like some sort of refund should be granted. And why fix something that isn't broke.

Also, one of my leagues is two conferences of 12 teams. 24 teams total. That used to never be a problem.

This year it is. If a player is owned in just one conference, he is not shown as a free agent for example.

So it's basically useless to me in that league. I still have to manually search.

Communication? It seems like they are just hoping people get tired of complaining and it will all go away. I've reached the point that I just don't care anymore. I've given up on e-mailing support. I've given up on them ever fixing the problem or even trying to fix the problem. I've given up hope that they even care anymore.

Still broken again this morning. 

Every week there is an issue.

We are now in Week 7.

ANYWAY, since the staff can't fix anything, thought I'd share this fix workaround in case it helps anyone else.

 
I've not had any issues with the syncing...until just now. Been hanging for a good couple of minutes then times out. I cleared my Chrome History, including cache. When I go back to sync, my username and PW is not working. I get some popup with gibberish saying to try again later. I'm not going to sweat this too much since this is my first time having this problem, but I agree it's disappointing this has been on-going for the whole season for a lot of people. 

What really disappoints me right now is the projections for this week and beyond is still not ready this morning for Lineup Dominator.

Relax.  It's only Wednesday, week 7.  It'll get there soon.

 
There was a small glitch this morning with the cloud server. I believe it lasted less than 20 minutes and was resolved around 7.30 EST am.

It was probably responsible for @BigBlue_RI 's issue

@Hankmoody please can you resend your email? I do my best to respond to everything there.

I am unaware of any issues to MyFBG except for the following:

- some multi-conference and multi-division leagues

- rosters need to be manually synced using the "Sync rosters for all leagues" link

- you need to login separately to the cloud site

1) is something we are continuing to look at. 2) and 3) need breaking changes to how we have set things up so can't be tackled before 2017. But, we are working on those right now so we can test those changes this year.

To explain 2 and 3). We were planning on providing MyFBG features through that new my.footballguys system. We didn't get that to you guys soon enough to get it to a state we felt was acceptable to subscribers so implemented a bridge to MyFBG Classic (hence this thread).

That in turn though meant we were running two systems and that led to both these issues (as the new site would have auto-synced for you in the background instantly as soon as you login, but MyFBG Classic is unable to send those requests as it uses PHP, which means we can't trigger syncs from your browser).

In addition we have solved a number of issues in last week's release and releases prior to that. I think an accurate status report for the system right now, is that it works, but you need to sync rosters manually. If anyone is seeing anything different, as always please email apps@footballguys.com. Thanks.

I am seeing Dodds and Tremblay projections there right now. Tremblay's were there last night.

 
And today Dodds announces Hoopguys, focused on basketball DFS. Bingo. :moneybag:

Glad to finally find out what they were working on all summer instead of making sure that their core software was functional for the football season.
I read this too and I had the same reaction. I guess they are too busy to get around to their fantasy football content. You know, FOOTBALLguys

No-one who was responsible for this new system has spent a single second on any of the basketball DFS plans.

The post you quoted by @goodr189 said we didn't have a support email. That's not true; I've posted it many times in this thread and others. It's apps@footballguys.com.

I'm one of the lucky folks with the multi conference issue.  Funny it's fine for one and screwed sideways for another identical league setup. The fact that they are working on it slightly reduces the sting of them bailing on my ticket 3 days ago.  

IMO, FBG should be thanking their lucky stars they have some talent spread out.  The IDP content is the only reason I'm not requesting a refund.  I'm sure for others this is DFS or whatever favorite you have, but if anyone has a good replacement for Bramel and Norton, send me a PM.

I think it's absurd they haven't offered up even a small credit for services paid for this year when the projections functionality is so jacked up.  

 
Ah weekly syncing issues going into Week 8. Fun stuff!

So I've tried Edge and Chrome and both times when I go to sync, it tells me to register for a Pro account.

This is so ridiculous that this is still happening and the season is half way over. Awesome!

Edit: Just tried it from my phone and a no go from mobile Safari either.

What's even more stunning than it not working 8 weeks in is THAT THEY JUST DON'T CARE!!!

We get a meek apology somewhat early on but that's it. No attempts to fix it anymore. No response. Agree with Johnb above. It's absurd they haven't at least offered a small discount on this year's or future year's subscriptions 'cause what we are paying for this year is absolute garbage.

 
I sent an email requesting a refund. I think it's ridiculous. The old system worked just fine. I understand advancing technology, etc.

But I also understand you need to pilot these things before releasing them. To have the same issues halfway into the season is unacceptable.

I didn't pay money to have to deal with frustrations each week.
