Joe T's Fantasy Football League- Joe T will pay all winners! (1 Viewer)

Tonight's lay me down daydream before I go to sleep: I have a million dollars in small bills and I have to go on the lam. What would I do?

I didn't realize so many people played in leagues where they don't know or iknow the person holding the money.

Why would you pay somebody to do this when you could do it on yahoo for free?

I prefer Yahoo leagues but some FF nerds think MFL's magical league settings are worth burning a hundred bucks for.

Huh. MFL looks like it's stuck in 2001. Strange to see Joe say that the industry was being well served by these guys. I think they have some flexibility but it's a pretty awful interface.

I had thought Unlucky was just a guy in our league. Did not even realize that was his website. Next year I vote for Em to hold all the money.

Unlucky not going to be able to pay himself for winning the league. I bet he'll be mad he didn't tell himself he wasn't going to be able to pay himself if he won at the beginning of the season.

I think that was PR talk since he didn't see enough profit margin in MFL's business to compete with it.

I hate that lots of folks appear to have lost duckets here but I haven't laughed this hard in months. Some great shtick resulting from this debacle.

Crazy. Yahoo's service, particularly their mobile app is really good.

Probably a lawyer question, but how will a bankruptcy court look at this:

1. Divide up the money based on who won leagues, which BTW weren't complete at the time.

2. Divide up the money based on entry fees paid

3. Say screw it, it is illegal here, you guys ain't owed nothing and give the money to the state.

I think Obama gets everything at this point.

Are you kidding. Obama drafted Cutler as his starting QB. That was Obama's worst pick since Holder as his starting AG. :X

Good luck in the Championship Unlucky and Rikishiboy!!
Lolz
They are playing for all the marbles. Literally marbles. We ran out of cash.
This league was never really about the money anyway. The prestige of winning the #1 league of the #1 fantasy football site on Al Gores Internet is priceless.
The league page looks like AL Gore created it when he invented the Internet.

Another $200k it could have been really nice though.

Send me $630,000, plus $24.95 for a Dummy book, and I will create an awesome web site.

Oh I'm on the edge of my seat imagining the possibilities!

Are there any tech guys in here? How could it cost anywhere near 600k to build a fantasy football website? What costs so much?

I would like to have this league again next year. I propose we use leaguesafe.com and ESPN, but we can discuss the details as we get closer.

He's a politician, he's from Illinois. He gonna pick a Chicago guy.

Tim, 9 people already mentioned how much we like Yahoo. It's gotta be ESPN?
No of course not.I propose though, that whatever we do we get rid of Unlucky's weird scoring rules. Let's go back to the basics.
I didn't like how it was set up at all, just didn't want to cause a fuss.

You going to let Unlucky back in to defend his title?
So long as he pays off everyone that Phenoms owes winnings money to (not just in our league but in all of the others), then I have no problem with it. Until then, I vote no.
Pretty sure he won't be back around anyway.

For those of us getting shafted this year out of our prize money...should get our entree fee waived until it is paid.
Man, I hate to say this, but you're talking a yearly smaller pot and up to, what, 4-5 years of free entry.Unlucky seemed like a good guy, and I really hope he's telling the truth about making poor business decisions and going under. I won't fight either side of that argument. The bottom line is no one is getting paid.

My vote is we all eat our entry fee, try to keep the league going, and move forward with a fresh start.

I know I didn't win money, so maybe this is easy for me to say, but I've been scammed a few times and but sucks; all you can do is move past it. If I won $ this year, I wouldn't expect anyone else to pay my winnings, even if it was spread over time in entry fee credits.
