Got in gear just in time for the playoffs!
Really wanted to do this a couple weeks ago. Now he might save me from EllingtonDropped him last week because I just didn't see him cracking my lineup if I make the playoffs. My opponent this week picked him up and sat him on his bench.
Even with this good game, I'm not sure I'd find a week to start him on many squads only having to start 2 RBs.
I've been wrong before. He looked great running the ball against AZ, not so much against NE, Andy even better yesterday.

The Vikings struggle against the run (23rd in the NFL) and certainly, there should be a lot of scoring chances here. And when the Lions get in close, they like to run with Bell. Only three running backs have more rushing attempts inside an opponent's 10-yard line, so Joique has as good a shot at scoring this week as anyone in the NFL.
http://www.numberfire.com/nfl/news/3909/fantasy-football-start-or-sit-week-15Start Joique Bell - While one Bell has been the talk of fantasy football over the last few weeks, another one has performed admirably, too. Joique - the Bell in Detroit - has ranked as the fourth- and third-best running back in PPR leagues over the last two weeks, scoring 55 fantasy points. He's now posted an RB1 (top-12) performance in three of his last four games.
The Lions will face a Vikings rush defense that ranks 26th in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP, and 24th in terms of fantasy points against. Back in Week 6, Joique was able to score 17.7 PPR points against the unit. He could do it again in Week 15.
Lions OC Joe Lombardi conceded Joique Bell is the team's No. 1 running back, ahead of Reggie Bush.
It would be difficult to claim anything else. Bell has 33 carries to Bush's 11 over the last two weeks and has out-touched Bush 42-16 over that span. Bell has at least 10 carries in 12-of-13 games this season. Bush has managed that feat just twice. Bell is the clear lead back and is a good bet for 20 touches against a leaky Bears' defense. He is a solid RB2 in championship week.
The Lions did not report it. Even the Lions beat writers were surprised when the game started and Bell has his jacket on still. This is fun. Tell me this didn't come out before kickoff that it was disciplinary so I can undo the noose a little.
Joique Bell (knee, Achilles) expects to be ready for OTAs.
Bell had minor clean-up surgeries on his knee and Achilles' following the season. He likely won't be 100 percent, but plans to participate in the Lions' offseason program. Bell missed just one game last year despite multiple injuries. He's signed through 2016 and should return as Detroit's lead back.

ESPN Lions reporter Mike Rothstein said Detroit "envisions" Joique Bell as the primary running back.
Spending a second-round pick on Ameer Abdullah is an odd way to express confidence in your starting running back, especially after that running back has averaged less than 4.0 YPC in back-to-back seasons. Bell should open training camp as the primary running back, but Abdullah is a more talented player who should quickly wrestle the lion's share of the work away from Bell.

Joique Bell has remained out of this week's OTAs while recovering from offseason Achilles' and knee surgeries.
Bell also had a knee scoped last offseason. Although the Lions seem to think Joique should be fine, it's certainly fair to have concerns about a running back coming off three lower-leg surgeries a roughly 12-month span. Turning 29 before the season, Joique is a tough sell at his fourth-round ADP.

The Lions aren't sure if Joique Bell (Achilles', knee) will be in shape by training camp.
"Really, I think your biggest concern is just, is he going to be able to get in the shape that you wanted to at the beginning of camp," OC Joe Lombardi said. "But we’ll be careful with him and smart and ramp him up as we go." Bell underwent offseason knee and Achilles' surgeries and has yet to participate in the offseason program. It's allowed Ameer Abdullah to make an early impression and get more run with the starters. We're letting others draft Bell at his current fifth-round ADP.

totally agree. Given his 8th round adp he is a steal to be a great value pick.I drafted bell last year but think between age and injury ameer will more than outperform his draft slot.think Ameer is the guy to own this year. Bell just hasnt done much, but line should be improved this year
Where does Abdullah have a 8th round ADP? I've done several drafts at MFL and I think he's lasted to the early 6th once.totally agree. Averaging pick 53 in the MFL 10's right now.Although he may hold slightly more value in best ball based on his big play potential and receiving in ppr. Still, you have to get lucky if you don't take him in the 5th.Actually looking now it looks like he has moved up to 7th. YMMV. Still a deal over Bell.
According to the Lions' website, the team envisions Joique Bell and rookie Ameer Abdullah as a "one-two punch."
The Lions hope SPARQ superstar Abdullah can "bring the big play back to the rushing attack," while Bell grinds between the tackles. Unless Joique's Achilles' and knee-surgery recoveries progress slower than expected, Abdullah fantasy drafters can't expect the second-round pick to open the year as Detroit's lead runner. Bell should also be locked in as the Lions' goal-line back.

ESPN Lions reporter Michael Rothstein says there seems to be more concern with Joique Bell's health this year than in 2014.
In 2014, Bell missed most of the offseason due to a knee issue but still played in 15 games and logged 257 touches. This year's Achilles' and knee ailments appear more serious. Joique is expected to be eased in slowly as camp opens next week and his progress will be worth watching closely. He's currently being overdrafted at a fifth-round ADP while dynamic rookie Ameer Abdullah is going a round later.

Joique Bell - RB - Lions
Coach Jim Caldwell offered no timetable for Joique Bell's (knee, Achilles') return at Lions camp Friday.
Caldwell did say Bell is "coming along quickly," though that's hard to fathom after Joique missed the entire spring and wasn't available for the start of training camp. "Were just majorly concerned right now with obviously getting him healthy," Caldwell insisted. "And hes well on his way to that." Bell turns 29 next month and has undergone three lower-leg surgeries over the past two offseasons. Ameer Abdullah is now running with the ones.

Joique Bell (ankle, Achilles') was seen running on the side of Lions practice Monday.
It's the first activity reporters have witnessed Bell do in quite some time. Recovering from multiple lower-leg surgeries, Bell remains without a timetable to resume practicing. He does plan to return before the end of preseason.

Joique Bell - RB - Lions
Tim Twentyman of the Lions' website expects Joique Bell (Achilles', knee) to be activated from the active/PUP list shortly.
Twentyman reports Bell is "progressing quickly," and has begun doing sprints, making cuts, and performing cone drills in the rehab section of Lions practice. The beat writers in Detroit still believe Bell will open the season as the Lions' starter, ahead of Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick. Bell figures to run with the first-team offense once he's finally cleared to resume practicing.

Joique Bell - RB - Lions
Joique Bell expects the Lions to run more in 2015.
"It's not 'if,' it's 'when,'" Bell insisted. The Lions' offense was perceived to be more balanced in 2014 than it had been in recent years, but finished 11th in pass attempts and 25th in rush attempts. That needs to change, as the Lions tend to struggle when they rely too much on Matthew Stafford's streaky arm. The arrival of first-round OG Laken Tomlinson and second-round RB Ameer Abdullah provide more weapons in the running game. We love Abdullah as a mid-round pick.

Joique Bell (knee, Achilles') remains on the active/PUP list.
We heard last Tuesday that Bell was "ramping up" his side work, but a week has come and gone without a change in his status. Meanwhile, rookie Ameer Abdullah lit up the preseason opener, and Bell won't suit up against the Bills on Thursday. Bell's grip on No. 1 status is tenuous.

The Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett reiterated that Joique Bell (knee, Achilles') is expected to remain the Lions' starting running back when he returns.
Undrafted rookie Zach Zenner, who impressed in the preseason opener and saw a smattering of first-team reps at practice this week, also indicated Bell remains atop the depth chart when healthy. Indications are Bell will be activated off PUP shortly. Once all three running backs hit the field, it wouldn't come as a surprise to see Ameer Abdullah and eventually Zenner pass Bell. He hasn't looked the healthy since the 2013 season.

Was there ever a doubt that he'd be working with the 1st team when healthy? Were people expecting Zenner to usurp his early down role?Joique was working with the 1st team offense today.
