Josh Hill - TE - New Orleans Saints (1 Viewer)

I see more than the 10-15% range, how much I don't know but expect more than Watson, maybe 40% each shared with Spiller,

as for reporters like Triplett, it's a down time for news in the NFL so he may just be making controversy.
10-15% would be something like 60-90 targets, while Graham routinely got >140. I think his ADP is starting lean more towards >90 targets

Those with an enormous man crush on Hill, did you guys predict Matt Asiata or McKinnon to have the same stats as ADP?
No, but I predicted that Tom Brady would have the same stats as Bledsoe.

Not really, but just wanted to show how stupid cherry-picking one single situation can make you look when you imply that all situations will work out identically.

Would the majority rank Hill over Rookie Maxx Williams in dynasty?
In Dynasty, I would rank Hill well below Williams, personally. I like Hill's situation (potentially), but I don't believe Hill is on the same level, talent wise, with Williams. For Dynasty purposes, give me Williams.

For me it would depend on roster size and composition. With rookie TEs you pretty much have to expect that you are going to have to keep him on your roster through at least his second year before you really know what you have. Williams being from a small school makes that even more likely. If you can have the patience and roster spot to burn Williams is a no-brainer.

If every spot is precious and you have to churn your roster for byes and injuries I might be more likely to favor Hill because I'd be able to move on much quicker if he stinks it up.

Minnesota is a small school?

I certainly wouldn't. When it comes to dynasty talent trumps situation to me. NO has already been reaching out to TE's even in this time of slim pickings so how long is Hill going to enjoy this situation?

It gets so cold here in Minnesota that it makes everything look small (shrinkage).

My bad. I thought he went somewhere else. Guess that shows how much I've looked into him. Truthfully, I rarely have the patience to wait on rookie TE, so they have to be high picks for me to really look into one.

Jermaine Gresham - TE - Free Agent

The Cardinals will host free agent TE Jermaine Gresham this week.

Gresham's blocking ability would fit well in Arizona, but he shouldn't sign there if he expects to catch many passes. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Gresham already has a contract offer on the table from the Saints, and "has other visits planned the next two weeks." Most NFL officials are currently on vacation. The transaction wire should begin to pick up late this week.

If Gresham ends up signing with the Saints, this train may start to come off the tracks.

Gresham signing won't help Hill, but I think the optimism is subsiding already even without it. This looks increasingly like TEBC.

Triplett's guessing again. This time of year before TC "reporters" try and spread their "stories" out until TC starts.

I'll wait until some real reports come out after practice and play starts. Reporters like to cover their arses in case things go south.

He's young, athletic, fast and has good hands. 2 inches shorter than Graham, he won't be a jump baller like he was, but the opportunity is there. He seems to be moving down draft boards and I think is entering value territory. As much as they say they want to run more, they ran a fair amount last year and Brees still got his yards. Now there is the mass exodus of receivers that someone will fill. The Saints are one of the more interesting teams to me this years to see how it shakes out. There will be a few players who will be massive values IMO.

Rotoworld:

Josh Hill - TE - Saints

Josh Hill caught three passes for 40 yards in the Saints' preseason opener against the Ravens.

Hill played with the Ryan Griffin group, or the second-teamers. Although he has had a quiet camp, Hill took over in a two-minute drill toward the end of the first half, securing three Griffin passes for 40 yards on that lone drive. Hill's role in the Saints' offense has been downplayed by pretty much everyone covering the team, but he's still an intriguing flyer to monitor.

Rotoworld:

Josh Hill caught one pass for five yards in the Saints' third preseason game.

Playing behind Ben Watson but still working with the ones, Hill was targeted on an end-zone pass at the end of the Saints' opening drive, but the ball was thrown widely by Drew Brees. Hill continues to have all the appearances of a sub-package tight end and red-zone weapon, while Watson operates as New Orleans' every-down tight end. Through three preseason games, Hill has six catches for 59 yards and a touchdown.

How long will owners hang on to Hill, even in dynasty leagues? The only reason I can see why Watson is playing over him is blocking. I guess the Saints want to focus on the running game.

I think I'd wait at least a couple of more weeks to try to get a better read on how they intend to use him if you have the room.

Got a super ugly TEBC atm with Julius Thomas stashed. Dropped Ben Watson (instead of Josh Hill and Owen Daniels) for Scott Chandler.

But hasn't this been clear for months now? Shipping out Graham and Stills, getting Spiller, etc., etc. - all clear signals of the change in philosophy.

I wouldn't over-react to the Week 1 zero. Hill has his value as a receiver and he will get some share of the pie eventually. But I don't think he competes with Watson for snaps; more likely with Colston and Coleman.
