The rumor was in STL that Gilyard had a very hard time learning the offensive playbook last year (stupid). If that was true we might as well cut him cause I am sure McDaniel's playbook is going to be much larger and much more complex.I like Salas alot but I am on the Pettis bandwagon
Demarco Farr was saying that on 101 yesterday during the drive time show. Here's the exact quote from Beat Writer Jim Thomas in the link above:
Warner2Bruce2PayDirt: Jim, So . . . how do think Marty Gilyard will fair with what appears to be a move toward a group of sure-handed bigger WR's? Thanks again!Jim Thomas: Gilyard better have a great camp.
Avery might be out the door too despite being the first WR taken a couple years go. He better realize that he doesn't get to keep his job from the training table. What Otis said above is true, with one caveat. Danario is the guy if he can stay healthy and he's had some knee issues. Major issues. He's the most talented guy of the bunch, and the cheapest, I believe. He's probably safe along with Amendola and the new TE. After that, nobody is safe on this squad. They have 9 guys that will compete for six spots. Even one of the two WR's drafted last week could wind up on a practice squad.
