I'm thinking the Rams get a top 5 pick. Do you really think Blackmon will go that high? Will he even be the 1st WR off the board?Would Bill Devaney please pick up the nearest white courtesy phone...

You can never predict 100% obviously Mr P, however Blackmon more than passes the eyeball test and he's been doing it for a few seasons. If you watch him play he so reminds you of Terrell Owens and while I hope he doesn't have the same mentality, TO was 1200/12 many many times so I see Blackmon coming in and being pretty dominant quickly. Best WR prospect IMO since Calvin.
I think Bradford has a lot of average WR's (I think Lloyd is above average). But if he did get his hands on someone like Blackmon then that would be awesome. I can see them going outside of WR because they have so many right now though. There is going to be some talent in the top 5 this year. Some stud OT's, an incredible DE, and possibly even maybe Trent Richardson. I think he would make the most sense almost even though I don't see him going that high.YESI'm thinking the Rams get a top 5 pick. Do you really think Blackmon will go that high? At this point I don't even think he is the best prospect of the last 2 years, or the second best. I agree that Blackmon is clearly the top prospect in this draft but rate him behind Green and Jones from last year.YESI'm thinking the Rams get a top 5 pick. MoP got a little carried away there.Better prospect than AJ Green?
Maybe, but the Panthers can't win games this year because of their defense, not their offense.Given a choice, the Panthers will pick Morris Claiborne.Cam Newton and Blackmon are a match made in heaven
Maybe but I think Blackmon is a better prospect and he would make the offense deadly lethal. But yeah you are right the Panthers need a ton of defensive help. But if somehow Blackmon falls to them in the 6,7,8 range due to the run on QB's I bet they take him just to make Newton happy.Maybe, but the Panthers can't win games this year because of their defense, not their offense.Given a choice, the Panthers will pick Morris Claiborne.Cam Newton and Blackmon are a match made in heaven
Somebody save this post we're gonna get a hearty laugh out of it in a couple yearsCount me as one who thinks he's better than Green and Jones.Ah yeah, I'm an owner soooo take it with a grain of salt.

Can someone caught me up on his off field issues? Not saying I agree with it necessarily but I could see Blackmon slipping. Rather short at 6ft1. A 4.5-4.6 40 guy. Had some off the field issues. At least some of his production has to be attributed to the system. I would not be surprised at all to see a GM pass on him with an early 1st.
What off-field issues? He is one of the best people in all of college football. Very high-character guy.'FDC said:Not saying I agree with it necessarily but I could see Blackmon slipping. I believe he had a drunk and disorderly early in his career, or something similar. But nothing since. What off-field issues? He is one of the best people in all of college football. No. But I think Blackmon's poorman's Andre Johnson. Not even close to Torry Holt. I agree with all the help they need they should take BPA and if that's a WR do it. S. Smith probably will be in his decline by the time the team gets their defense improved. Get a WR now to be ready in a couple years to take over for Smith.'pantherclub said:Maybe but I think Blackmon is a better prospect and he would make the offense deadly lethal. Just curious as to why you think St. louis is a better spot than Minny? Bradford looked good for a rookie last year but has definatly regressed since and Ponder has shown flashes of potential. I'll give a slight advantage to Bradford because he's got a larger sample to draw from. Peterson>Jackson and is a little bit younger, Percy is dynamic and still developing but has injury issues while Lloyd broke out in his eigth year and has been good since going to St Louis but how many good years does this guy have left? Advantage to Percy based on potential since I believe we've seen Llyods ceiling which he will most likely never reach again. Both their O-lines nead major improvements so this is a wash. Just my opinion and I'm biased since I'm a Viking fan but I really hope Blackmon ends up in Purple next year. The Vikings always had playmakers at WR ever since I can remember, Anthony Carter, Cris Carter and Moss. We let Sidney Rice go which I'm ok with and Percy is good but could be even better with a WR like Blackmon on the outside drawing coverage. The last four years of us trotting out Bears rejects at WR is killing me!!!Either way I think it will be good for Blackmon if he ends up in SL, MIN CAR but would not be all that high on his prospects if he's taken by a team like JAX.I like A.J. Green just to be clear but I think people are taking some of what has happened in the NFL this year and of course Blackmon is not there yet...he has racked up about 3,000 yds and 35 TDs the last 2 seasons, I know stats can be deceiving but that measured with the eyeball tests and I see a very talented guy who should be paired with an up and coming QB in the NFL...I really don't see how St Louis could pass him up to play opposite Lloyd who is no spring chicken himself despite the low mileage. There are loads of good young WRs in the NFL and maybe Blackmon is not as good to some of you as AJ Green and Julio Jones but the most important part to me at this point is Blackmon getting on a team where he will have a lot of targets sooner rather than later. Also if St Louis and Minnesota would be potential takers I would hope for St Louis as a better landing spot.
What was Blackmon's "declined" numbers? What was Green's "best" numbers in college?I'll wait your response.this guy was universally rated behind green and jones as a prospect last yr. his numbers decline a bit in college (ypc way down) while aj green blows away all expectations as a rookie and now ppl are claiming blackmon is better?
Wow, disorderly conduct??????He went to a Cowboy game with some friends to watch Dez play. Was driving back to OK when he got pulled over for speeding.College kids going to watch a friend play in the NFL had a few drinks......not sure I'd classify that as off the field issue and certainly not disorderly conduct. Its amazing how fast misinformation gets spreaded.I believe he had a drunk and disorderly early in his career, or something similar. But nothing since. What off-field issues? Beason will help the D, but they clearly need more. Still, if you're the Panthers, you don't pass on Blackmon if he falls to you.'spider321 said:Maybe, but the Panthers can't win games this year because of their defense, not their offense.Given a choice, the Panthers will pick Morris Claiborne.Cam Newton and Blackmon are a match made in heaven
Every year the top WR prospect is the best to come out since ".....".this guy was universally rated behind green and jones as a prospect last yr. his numbers decline a bit in college (ypc way down) while aj green blows away all expectations as a rookie and now ppl are claiming blackmon is better?
That's a tall order. It would be a major risk for a team to spend such a high pick on a WR.With all signs pointing towards Kalil going back for his senior season, I'm now somewhat conflicted as to who the Vikings should target in the first. To be honest I think WR would be the third to the last priority for the Vikings(behind RB&QB IMO). Now a lot of people would use the best player available argument, but when I look at the two teams in the superbowl I can't help but notice that the highest drafted WR is Jordy Nelson. I think the best move for the Vikings at this point is to move down and acquire picks because the cupboards are pretty bare. The Vikings do have some studs, but major deficiencies is a few areas will continue to hold this franchise back.I like A.J. Technically it was a DUI going 92 in a 60 at 4AM. We are talking about a top 5, top 10 pick here. Would you really be shocked a GM would pass on him in that spot?Wow, disorderly conduct??????He went to a Cowboy game with some friends to watch Dez play. A DUI is clearly an off the field issue in the minds of many teams. I bet Justin and his agent wish it was just disorderly conduct.Wow, disorderly conduct??????He went to a Cowboy game with some friends to watch Dez play.
