Some sort of ambiguous off the field rumor is apparently circulating. If it's just BS smoke, poor kid, feel bad for him.

Very good call. Will be interesting to see where he goes today. Could be a real steal for a team who have WR needs. Do the Browns fall in that camp?

It was widely reported that Franklin had the flu at the combine. He weighed in at 183 less than two weeks later at Oregon pro day

Honestly, I think his value is unaffected by his draft capital fall because of the landing spot. I'm still gonna treat him as a top-8 WR.

Maybe the league knows something you and Denver doesn’t.
Maybe, they might also have just screwed up. I'm guessing Bo Nix went to bat pretty heavily for Franklin.

I really don't think its crazy to think he could be Denver's #1 WR by the end of the season.

Oregon not exactly known for producing NFL WRs. Sammy Parker was 20+ years ago. For all the sizzle and stats, Oregon has been an awful factory for NFL WR.

At the 9:07 mark of the attached video, Payton says that on Friday at lunch with Bo Nix they talked about several Oregon players, most specifically Troy Franklin

The coach and GM could pick Bo's brain regarding why Franklin is falling. They could get a feel from his response how much he likes Franklin. I've had situations where I passed on a job candidate based on what others had to say about him. Bo's response here might have just corroberated what the scouting department felt.

I find this interesting. I have no dog in this fight as I don't know Franklin that well. I wanted to like him base on his numbers but after listening to 5 different guys who scouted him said something is off with him. They liked him, just not that much. All said he wasn't a first round value.
NFL teams seem to all agree as no one wanted to pick him.
I'm always very careful with information coming in and who is saying what. There seemed to be some big red flags with Franklin.
Having said that, his value should drop and not can be had for a more reasonable pick in fantasy drafts. He gets to play with his college QB and in an offense that needs weapons.
This could work out long term if Franklin works and improves his game.
Excited about Franklin, especially since he ended up on the same team as his college QB.
He fell like a rock in our 16 team rookie draft. We only go 3 rounds and I had traded my 2nd and 3rd rounders away. Started trying to move into the 2nd about pick 6, but no takers. Finally found a buyer at 3.01 to grab him. Crazy
My opinion has been nothing off the field made him slip.

Best I can find is a combination of a few things. His coach at Oregon attributed it to false rumors about his character. While many, myself included, were impressed by his production, big plays and impressive highlights, more analytical scouting worried about him having 9 drops in 23, being a body catcher with a very limited and undisciplined route tree, and his skinny build. Add to this the supply of WRs, and I guess it combined into a potential early 2nd rounder falling to the early 4th.
Did not hear that myself, not saying it was not said but all I heard was people speculating that's why he dropped.
I just don't think he was ever held in such high regard.
Daniel Jeremiah's last 150 listed him as player 72 I believe. Now he went 30 spots later but not sure I can call that a drop at such a deep position group of WR's where it's more like picking out your flavor of ice cream. I just don't think he was that highly rated in the NFL, for purely on the field reasons.
