Justin Forsett or Ben Tate (1 Viewer)

Houston will have wrapped up home field advantage by week 16 so I fully expect Foster to sit out this all important championship week.

Who do you expect to be the starter ? Tate has been hurt with a hammy for 6 weeks now. Would it be wise to stash Forsett ? Anybody have any news on Tate ?

If heatlhy, there is no comparison to the two. The Texans would much rather have Tate than Forsett.

With that being said, I don't think you have to worry about foster sitting Week 16. The Ravens are one game back and lose the tie breaker to the Texans. The Texans still have a MNF game @ New England (no gimme by any means) and the Patriots and broncos, at 3 losses are playing well.

So, to secure the HFA, the Texans would need to win all the next three, which is not a given with the New england game AND the Ravens would need to lose a game. Could happen but Soemthing just tells me the Patriots get that MNF game and if they do, then the texans MUST play to win in at least Week 16 and being a team that has finally got a legit SB contender and knowing how hard it was to go on the road last year (especially to Baltimore), I think they would do as much as they can to secure the HFA.

All Foster/AJ/Texans owners should be PRAYING that the Patriots hang a loss on the Texans next week.

Just grabbed Tate off of the wire hoping that they use him....gonna hold him as long as I can spare the roster spot.

Foster may sit Week 17, but he won't sit Week 16. He may not get 25+ carries, maybe just 15-20, but still.

They won't have their best player have 4 weeks off. It's much too risky to head into a playoff game with that much time out of game speed on the verge of facing a team with momentum from their Round 1 win.

I think it's definitely Tate in this instance as long as he is healthy. That gives him another 3 weeks to get healthy which is long enough. I feel confident that if Foster misses week 16 and 17, Tate will be a top 10 option at RB.

However, I don't feel like Foster will miss Week 16, but if your league plays into Week 17, then Tate could become very valuable if you are able to make to the Championship.

It's more of a desperation play/stash, but I picked up Forsett last night (Tate already rostered). I looked at all of the FA RB's and the bottom line is that Forsett has passed the eye test every time I've seen him. The Houston O-Line is not as dominant as last year. Foster, while having a very good year especially on the TD front, is having to earn every single yard. Last year he was getting 3 yards past the line of scrimmage before being touched. This year many more hits at the line of scrimmage. Haven't checked but I'm sure YPC is down. Forsett looks very quick, hits the hole. Some FF writers write him off like he was a total scrub at Seattle. He was not - he had some very, very good stretches there. With the way the line is blocking, I think Forsett would be more successful than Tate, especially between the 20's. While Forsett passes the eye test, and has a high YPC even without the blown call in Detroit, he may not pass the opportunity test. Foster would have to get nicked for him to get any significant carries. But sometimes opportunity doesn't translate into production (see that POS Jennings). If he continues to produce I think it will be harder for Tate to steal his carries. We'll see.

Not to veer from the subject, but I doubt it warrants its own thread, but is anyone considering starting both Forsett and Foster against this TN def? For sake of the conversation, if people feel the answer is yes, and there is a chance that Foster sits in week 16 (though I doubt it), could you make the leap that you could start both Tate and Forsett against Minny?

if tate is their #2 rb (which he may or may not be anymore, or when week 17 rolls around), forsett will get the start week 17.

they will probably want to rest tate regardless and not pound him 25 times week 17 and risk injury.

would strongly bet on forsett being the guy week 17.
