But why did I bench him?

Should we expect more games like this? (not 3 sacks, but big games)

Kansas City pass blocking = harrrrrrrible. But yeah, Justin Smith is playing for a contract. He's always been a solid player -- stout against the run, decent pass rush. He gets a bad rap because people expected big big numbers as a top five overall pick. You may want to play some matchups with him, but he'll score you points when matched up against a team like this -- crappy LT and no gameplan to chip with a TE/RB.

He lined up at LE on several plays, not something that he has done before. He also used a few different techniques - he always had speed but the tackle would just let him run himself past the QB. I saw a swim move mixed in with some bull rush today. I agree that KC line is hurting, but to answer the original question I expect more big games.eta I'm a Bengal fan but not a Smith fan

Yeah...the Chiefs O-line will be making alot of DE's look like studs this year.

Roaf, Richardson....where are youuuuuu?

Justin looked very good. I think it's taken the Bengals DT situation to get stronger, and the emergence of Robert Geathers makes the FB/RB look to the other side too, for Smith to finally get the kind of sack totals that Cincy fans have been wanting to see from him for years. All of this upon a contract year, and I think Smith has a double digit sack year for sure. Plus near 60-80 tackles like he has for years now. I really hope they resign him as a fan, but I realize that there just isn't enough money to throw around considering we just made a few records in the payroll department (Willie, Jeremi Johnson each the highest paid at their position, plus big extensions for CJ, Palmer and TJ.)
