Justin Tuck - Washed Up? (1 Viewer)

Typical week 1 over-reaction.
Normally I'd agree, but by the looks of things Tuck spent quite a bit of time on the sideline in the game and he appeared to be pouting whenever he was off. Maybe there's something to this

The man used to be a wrecking crew and now Pierre Paul is drawing all the double teams and you still hear his name called all the time as being disruptive. Thought I saw Tuck get man-handled on more than one occasion by a single defensive lineman. He is supposed to be an elite DE but I just don't see it anymore. I guess we'll see in the coming weeks.

seriously none of the giants line has a sack . Osi , Tuck or Pierre relax
Trivia question - when was the last time this happened?Answer, their worst loss of last year, @ New Orleans. Might be the key to beating the G-men.

Looked like he spent a lot of his evening on the ground.

Way too early to say anything definitive, but that did not look like the Tuck of old.

After Murray stuck him on that long run, he really seemed deflated the remainder of the game. Looked like that shot hurt big time bad.

Everyone is overeacting to 1 game. None of the Giants DL played well. Chalk it up to first game of season. Next week, when Tuck and Pierre-Paul abuse Tampa Bay, all will be well in the world.

First game of the season showing there a little out of shape and not use to playing a whole game. Also that cowboys line did a lot of tackling the d line to the ground. They forced a int early and had romo running for his life then all of the sudden bear hugs became legal lol. That is just something i saw.

replacement officials allowed a hellacious amount of holding(see Kiwi's quote). Tyron did a good job on JPP but he also got away with a lot. Most of the time they showed JPP getting pressure on thru replays there was blatant holding. Mark Schlereth said there is holding on everyplay and the OL would push it to the extreme limits even more with the replacement officials to test what they could get away with. There could be a lot of days where stud passrushers are 'held' in check. I'll add, i would do the same.........as the saying(or raiders/Al Davis slogan) goes "it ain't cheating if you don't get caught(called)" or "if you aren't cheating you aren't trying". Pushing the rules in this case saves your QB's life

Missed a bunch of time today with what was probably a stinger.

I was at the game and I saw him leave field unable to move his left arm. Remember, he had neck issues last season.

With that said, ride him out.

He's on the sidelines a lot and when he's in the game he's easily moved. I mean there are way too many pancakes that he is on the ##### end of.

Between the injuries and lack of production last year, and now into this year...i think its more than safe to bump him down your boards. I just traded him for a 2013 3rd and scooped up Shaghnessy off the WW. More than happy with him starting in his place.

Tuck was also seen off the field at least once in the CAR game. I forget what the prob was, but really im not giving him much rope this year. HEnce the trade.

If he still has name value in your league i'd suggest trying to trade him and snag someone with some more longevity. Cam Jordan, Derrick Morgan, Matt Shaughnessy, even Adrian Clayborne and Carlos Dunlap are all guys id take straight up..

IMO

Yup he played over 70% of the snaps, which really is all you can ask for out of your DL; so I don't think his benching for 16 snaps is all that big of a deal. Having said that, when he was on the field I thought he really looks slow and not as explosive as he was in previous years. Maybe it was just because he was playing Carolina, but he appeared to just be happy enough to sit back and contain Newton instead of going to sack him on a lot of plays.

He has been putting up poor numbers all yr. Also have Trent Cole. Drafted them both expecting big numbers and so far nothing. Should I consider a different DL option, or stick it out?

The only DL putting up consistent big numbers right now is JJ Watt. It is frustrating if you own guys like Cole, Tuck. But DL normally just don't rack up numbers week to week. I would wait it out since there's likely not much better out on the waiver wire. Tuck looked pretty good last night, just couldn't close in on some sacks.

Same here. I'm sticking with Cole, but am dumping Tuck. It's only a 2 DL IDP lineup, so there are plenty of good players out there. Heck, I might even dump Cole. Couple of bums so far.

Finally cut bait in dynasty. Both him and polamalu. It was painful but I think they are both done. Thx for the memories fellas.

Heads up he is out of my lineup for the first time this season so expect a 6 tackle 3 sack Forced Fumble day this sunday!
