Kansas City at Houston (1 Viewer)

Love watching players like Hill play. That play where he picked up an extra five yards with pure elusiveness was great. People like him and Cohen are just a lot of fun to see do their thing.

The general rule is to plant your heels on the 10 and let it go if it's over your head. AT THE TEN, you catch it
Some teams went away from this when punters learned to kick it reliably in ways that bounced the ball back toward the play.  Lechler is pretty good at that, so I could see them telling their guys to get it if they have any room in front of them.

i don't know anybody cheering, and good for Houston, just think a bit strange. It isn't like they know him personal or anything. i get feeling for the guy, was just weird.
One of our most respected posters here lost his child to pediatric cancer.  In the final days some people from the board here reached out to watt and hee recorded a personalized video on short notice in time for him to see it before he passed. It was one of the most meaningful things I've personally observed from a professional athlete, and every time I hear a new story about watt it's consistent with the character I have seen from him.  Not least of which his efforts during and after the hurricane.  He's a rare role model who can be the best player in the league on the field and be every bit as good as a person.  And I have no connection to Houston whatsoever.

They keep running into Kelce long after the play. That’s twice on this drive.
He celebrated by shaking his t*ts like a stripper then threw a fit when someone gave him a little shove for it.

This time he gets up and keeps running as if he wasn't called down, then throws another fit when someone plays along and tries to punch the ball out.

Always heard but never saw how douchy this was, but its actually pretty bad.

can still be a humanitarian, maybe i am off here so i'll stop. just seems strange to watch a violent game like football, but then literally cry when someone gets hurt. people seem little disillusioned or something
This is a mature take (honestly) and I sort of agree with you but so many people live vicariously through sports teams and athletes.  Watt is the best defensive player in the league and a huminatarian.  What did you expect the reaction would be?

Yeah; but on this particular play the ball was coming in hot to the 3 and he caught it over his head. The trajectory sure looked like it was gonna bounce into the end zone.

in general I understand it’s different situationally, but in this situation it was not a smart play IMO.

He had his own reality show about dating him. He's a super diva.

I’m not saying he’s not ##### - he is. He’s had a personal foul for taunting every single game.

But tonight the Texans have gotten away with a couple. Just because Kelce acts douchey doesn’t give free license for a Texan to hit the ball out his hand.

that shoulda been a flag.

The guy is a head case.  Why does every single play have to be a "look at me" moment with him?
Are you new to the NFL?

this is as common as bad officiating and more commercials than actual football. Sucks but it is what it is. Will never change.

They cut away from the replay, but am I the only one wondering whether Kelce was actually down?  Looked like he landed on the defender, bent his leg, and got back up.  He started to run.

Hal may well have wanted to avoid a Bilal Powell moment by getting a hand on Kelce.  I can see not flagging him under those circumstances.

I didn't see it that way.  In slow mo yes, but if you go back and watch it at full speed, it looks like Kelce is playing it as if he wasn't down and kept running and the defender ran up to try to strip the ball away.

Kansas City's defense is so well designed. There always seems to be a free guy heading for the QB.
The point Collinsworth made about quick passes hence dropping 8 really made sense. Chiefs fans despite the results keep whining about lack of blitzing, but Sutton nailed it: if QBs are throwing passes in <1 second what’s the point? They do give up some yardage, no doubt about that, but there’s a reason they don’t allow a ton of points and make a lot of plays.

Pretty sure the whistle blew the play dead.

Any contact after that should be a flag.

Watt loading into an ambulance - yeesh.

With the advent of Hunt and Smith playing out of his mind, and the mediocrity of Pittsburgh and New England (perhaps for the Steelers, "mediocrity" is too high praise), the Chiefs look like the team to beat in the AFC- maybe the best team in football. They don't appear to have many weaknesses.

They kind of have a lot, but I’m a nitpicky fan: compared to most teams they don’t have any glaring ones you’re right.

still a long way to go and I want to see Smiff keep it up into January.

I hope harbaugh writes a strongly worded letter to the nfl about that play.  Deception at its worst.  No place for that in the nfl.

I agree - solid in all 3 aspects of the game. The offense looks legit AF. Lots of weapons. The supporting case contributes a lot.

Houston trying to get in Kelce's head...that's three times someone has given him a little tap or small shove long after the play
That was my impression. Trying to get him to throw a punch.
Probably a good plan though...Kelce is a hot-head liable to get himself into trouble. It will be funny if the refs catch one of those needling little taps though
