Kenny Britt (1 Viewer)

I've been a Britt apologist for years. It's entirely possible/probable he gets a second chance somewhere else. But it's worrisome that he hasn't regained his superior ability since the knee injury in 2011. Just a lot of mediocre appearances since then,

This is where I'm at. Pre-injury he was dripping talent. Post injury? Hasn't done much at all -- but I'm not sure if it's because he's physically done or if it's Locker / the situation. Might as well hold on and see where he lands next year at this point.

Agreed. He is currently taking up space on my bench, but I'd hate to drop him and then watch him go off with another team in 2014.

I've dropped him in all formats including my deep bench dynasty. I'd much rather have the space in redraft to do matchup pickups than Britt. And in dynasty I'd much rather fill it with some obscure rookie than Britt. Sure, some time in the future maybe he goes off. But really what are we expecting? 'd much rather have him taking a spot on someone else's roster. To date he's still available everywhere I dropped him

I try not to be one of those "link" guys but no one is stashing Britt in a deep bench dynasty in his contract year? Have to see it to believe it.

Is Tampa's coach Britt's former coach? I don't see a pressing need, but if the Titans made the price right....idk just a thought

Yes he is but really not a need as Williams,Britt or VJAX don't project well in the slot. Bellichick is also known to load up on Rutgers players so there is that angle.

The biggest takeaway is no one probably want's Britt for any cost until he can show he can get open, which he's not been able to do since coming back from his injury. He does have a good matchup this week and if he can improve before the trade deadline I think he would have interest from other teams but again I see no interest until he can play better. Right now his off the field stuff and general knuckleheadedness are not really the issue.

i could see him avail in redraft, not dynasty...

not really looking to acquire him, probably wouldn't pay a lot in a trade, but would snap him up in an instant as dynasty waiver wire free agent...

Thanks for info, I don't see a pressing need with either it's just if a coach is tempted by talent I suppose.

I don't agree on the injury stuff. He gets open often, he just drops the ball about as often. Last week's replay you can see Locker not even look at him some plays and for the most part he should be the first option in their passing game. If you pick a top DB that covered him, he's probably got some drops that game. I don't really see teams shut him down, it's usually more his fault or Locker's impatience/frustration. We can surely agree to disagree here; I mean if Locker isn't trusting him, we are not seeing him out leap or outstretch some DB where we'd have a more obvious answer.

One ball last week I thought was a decent throw, deep and lofted out there in a way where Britt had to get under it. He couldn't get there. I watched it a couple times and idk that anyone could have, even some speed demon like CJ. So on replay it was too far, but Britt did show some wheels even if he didn't get there. He surely beat the Texans CB in a foot race that play

If Damian plays, watch some of Locker's throws to him. (There won't be many) Damian is sure-handed and....I have no doubt you'll be like why don't you throw that ball to Britt! No trust no confidence in him.

I think this lazy bumm didnt rehab properly from his injury and now is pretty much toast.

he wont get a big deal from anyone next year.
He definitely comes off as lazy, but injury rehab is more than just putting if the effort. There are many factors like genetics which will also affect healing times. Obviously a good surgeon also matters but even good surgeons mess up from time to time. Adrian Peterson's quick recovery makes everyone now think that it is easy to come back from knee surgery and almost break records. Obviously AP's work ethic helped improve his recovery time but the surgeon was also amazed at how healthy Adrian's knee looked during surgery.

I am starting to think Britt will never be the same. And truth be told, his pre-injury value was inflated too because it was based on a few big games, rather than a full season of stud production. He has never had a top 20 year of production. I doubt that he ever will.

He's still riding on reputation that was iffy to begin with. He had a couple good games. That's it.
Over 2010-2011, Kenny Britt played in 12 full games and posted 56/1046/12 (and a 2 point conversion). His worst game- literally the worst game out of the 12- was 4/39/0 (7.9 points in PPR). He reached double-digit points in PPR in every other game he played over that stretch. Counting his 2 point conversion, Britt reached the end zone in 10 out of those 12 games. He had 4+ catches in 9 out of 12 games, and 80+ yards in 7 out of 12 games. Britt's reputation wasn't based off of a huge game or two, it was based off the fact that he was the second most dominant fantasy receiver in the game every time he set foot on the field over a two-year span. He was unbelievably consistent. And yes, those 7/225/3, 5/136/2, and 9/135/1 games sure didn't hurt, either.

Physically, Britt doesn't look like the same player anymore... but people saying he hasn't shown sustained success in the past are missing just how good Kenny Britt really was. Reaching the end zone in 10 out of 12 games is truly insane. That's a higher percentage than Randy Moss achieved in his 23-touchdown 2007 season. Rob Gronkowski was held out of the end zone six times in 2011. He failed to reach the end zone three times in 11 games last year.

Again, I'm worried about Britt because he doesn't look like the same guy he once was, not because the guy he once was wasn't phenomenal.

For me it was not based on a few big games but rather it was based on his massive production swings when he moved from a sub-NFL quality passing QB to a low end one. His production when Kerry Collins took over was like a word of difference. We're not talking about Peyton Manning maybe making a solid NFL WR like Decker into a high end fantasy guy either. We are talking about Kerry Collins and we are talking about a major difference in production. By all accounts it just looked like he needed an real NFL QB, like even the great Larry Fitzgerald does.

But he's just not been the same guy since. I hate to speculate but I can't help but wonder if he rehabbed properly when he got hurt. Either way he's not been able to get back like so many other players.

Still those who were high on him pre-ACL were right as far as I'm concerned, at least in terms of talent.

britt with no stats today...

washington (8-131) and wright (6-71) led the way...

hunter scored on a game winning 34 yard reception with less than a minute left...

I was all over britt this season..... Yuck
I was really excited about him in the offseason and then asked myself 'What are you thinking?" and traded him and Wallace away for Blackmon and what turned out to be Lattimore.

Man I was entertaining cutting him for Washington the last couple of days. With having the #12 waiver priority, I'm stuck with Britt. I've got no shot at grabbing Nate, or someone with upside like Stephen Hill. Man I thought I had me a steal when I got this guy in Rd 9, rather than take a chance on Josh Gordon or even Justin Blackmon. Too many fantasy "experts" tooting this horn that it got me convinced to go for him

they don't ever freaking use him!
Today he had 2 drops, 1 almost-catch in the endzone that shoul've been called defense PI, another almost-catch where he landed akwardly and almost broke his neck
He dropped another one really early on in the game. Hit him right in both hands.

Tennessee, Trade this guy, please....

I need some production out of him.... a team that knows how to throw, please.

when you think of the free agent deals he could sign this upcoming offseason...this guy is costing himself a million dollars or more with each poor performance.

I don't think he's getting a big deal - at all. At this rate, he's getting one of those "1 year prove it deals".

Really tough to hang onto him at this point.

I've given up on him in all my redraft leagues and my keep-4 league.

Dynasty he's still worth the hold to see what happens next year.

Dynasty owners are praying for a paper cut that lands him on IR.

That way we can bring a WR7 onto our benches and pray for a miracle in the off season.

Wish I had moved him for Washington, who looked like the receiver to have since the beginning of the season, instead of waiting hopelessly for Britt to show any sign of usefulness.

I do think it's probable he will have a monster game out of nowhere at some point this season, but no way does it look to be a repeatable, let alone consistent, occurrence for me to waste a spot on my team at this point.

Jake Locker personally asked for the Titans to bench Britt for Hunter on the Titans' Week 3 game-winning drive.
