Who do you kill?

You've been kidnapped and placed in a sealed room with a video camera and a gun. Your dog is muzzled on one side of the room, and a stranger bound and gagged on the other. Your captors explain that they will kill all three of you in 60 seconds unless you shoot either the dog or the stranger. Both the dog and stranger appear to be aware of the decision in front of you, and are pleading with their eyes.

You decide you have no choice but to kill one of them. Who do you choose?

Prefers not dying to dying: 10

Would be murdered by you in any other scenario: 0

Will live a long and happy life if spared: 10

Would ever have met you or impacted your life if not for these kidnappers: 0

 
Can't believe anyone would choose to kill the dog here.  You know, they say that animal cruelty is the first sign of a psychopath....

 
First I check the number of rounds in the gun.  Maybe I have options to fight my way out.  Then I free my dog.  Then I un-muzzle the stranger to determine if they have skills to help us get out.  If the stranger is a chick I take a moment to place her on the Offdee scale.  Hottest chick in a psychotic experiment scenario, sure, but where would she rank at a club.  Depending on the Information gathered I make my decision.

Oh, and you should know my current dog is actually my daughter's dog, really.  I hate that thing but love my daughter.  Killing the dog would mean emotionally wounding my daughter, but so too the stranger.

I suppose I should also find out if the stranger is a Nazi.

How about age and gender?   Middle aged or older dude, sorry, but I don't think you're going to make it out of here. :lol:   

 
turn the gun on myself, and threaten to pull the trigger ... see which of the two freaks out more about my impending demise, then blast the other to bits ?

 
You really don't know how you'd react until you're actually put in this situation - so I'll let you know if/when it happens.

 
My dog is 14 and probably wouldn't survive the trauma of being chained and muzzled.  I'd lovingly shoot him to put him out of his misery.

Yeah, if it's my 15 year old rescue border collie who already needs over $1k worth of dental work and may not make it a year or two - easy decision.  If it's my 6 year old Aussie Cattle dog (my avatar picture thingy here) it would be a very tough decision.

I shoot the guy that's pretending to be dead on the floor since he's the one behind the silly game.

 
Assuming the stranger is an American, there's a nonzero chance they voted for Trump. Dogs do not have the right to vote. Therefore I would shoot the stranger.

 
Initially I would think stranger, because I love my dog.  Then my mind would remember back to the time I made a plate of bacon and left it on the counter while I went to the bathroom.  When I came back the bacon was gone.  Now, when I asked my dog he acted like he wasn't responsible, but there was no one else in the house #######.

There's a better chance the stranger voted against trump, or not at all.

But there's no chance that my dog voted for Trump. I'm sure Trump believes she illegally voted multiple times for Hillary, but I'm confident in my belief that she didn't vote at all. She's a good girl.

It's sort of stunning. I guess we find humor in odd places, though it would seem that it would be a really tough call to kill any mammal voluntarily. 

I'm not sure why this sadistic hypothetical binds us. It is, after all, a hypothetical. 

The only winning move is not to play.  

 
Is the stranger religious?   Now follow me here, if he is then I press the gun right between the eyes and pull the trigger and never think about it again.   I did this guy a favor, he gets to meet his maker, lay on fluffy cloud and sing kumbaya for eternity.  Now my dog could give two craps less about her maker, she just wants to be with me.   So in the end I kill the stranger everyday and twice on Sunday!   How you like them apples!

Jesus tells that stranger is a bad man...  And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.

My dog has never harmed anyone.. except my kids' stuffed animals.

I will enlighten you, however you perceive God and religion, you are wrong.  Just like everyone before you.   I have no idea if God would care or not but I am also smart enough not to base my beliefs on a fictitious book.

Turns out stranger is HUGE dog lover and when you shoot your dog he snaps and strangles you to death  :shock:
