As far as life changing. I am quitting my job tomorrow if I get 200 bucks a day in cash.
I wouldn't quit tomorrow but it would cut my retirement date down from 5 years to a lot sooner. Having that constant stream of income is a nice baseline to not have to worry about much moving forward.

it would be pretty damn annoying spending the $200 each day.
you're not reading it right. you get 200 anytime you purchase something, not anytime you spend $200. pack of gum. tissues. ritz crackers. dawn. wahtever.

I'm reading it correctly; I potentially get $200 a day to spend - but that requires me to 1. be somewhere to spend it (big deal to me) and 2. spend it in cash (not as big but you do have to find places that take cash which is diminishing)

$200 In Pocket - Once a day, reach into your pocket and two $100 bills will magically appear, but only when you're buying something.

you still think you're reading it right?

I'm sitting anywhere, pull out my phone to purchase something... wah-law... $200 cash money.

Yes, but it's once a day and to get that $200 I have to be somewhere. Like I mentioned, I probably go places and spend money about 50% of the days of the year. So, the 75k is now like 37k a year. People keep saying it's no effort but would be a PITA (although I'd take it) given my current lifestyle.

Any Song on the Piano or Guitar - You can play any song perfectly on the piano or guitar anytime you want. Elton, Slash, and Brahms: "Wow."
It feels like this would be the easiest to monetize.

Moreso than the elite speed? I would think that could easily be the one that brings the most money and why I would choose it.
I would think so, look at what the top of the music worlds make versus what Bolt has made.

Playing covers perfectly doesn't quite pay as well as being the original artist.

be somewhere? that's cost of being alive, no?

be ANYWHERE. open phone. purchase anything. reach into pocket. pull out $200. profit. I purchase something literally every day... at a minimum- transit and lunch- every day.

I'd take the music one.
Over $75K a year?

$200 pretty easily. That's ~$75K/year.

The sleep isn't practical. Now, if you said I could sleep 4 hours and get the full benefits of 8 hours of sleep, then that's something I'd consider. Magic is cute, but not worth $75K. Same for the song on piano/guitar. I'd consider that if I could make $200/day doing it.

The speed would be fun, but I'm fine being slow.
Speed probably nets the most money. I also wouldn't mind NOT being the slowest here.

It's reported Bolt still gets $250k-$500k in appearance fees just to show up at track and field events.

And going around the world to get appearance fees because you are a fast old guy isn't a lot more effort? Citing effort to buy something as being too much while also saying how much you make being fast while traveling everywhere to make money seems incongruent.

My premise is that isn’t necessary to exceed the $75k a year threshold.

Nike isn't giving you the money just to hang out and be fast. You gotta do something

Thankfully there’s something in the middle of those two. I’ll take my chances that it would work out to be millions.

And we haven’t even factored in front loading the work and money to potentially give to your kids. That alone would make it worth it to me. I’m assuming they don’t get to inherit my $200 superpower.

You gotta do something and based on your comments it seems like it's too much work for you to just get out of the house.

i picked the $200 a day, but if you get rid of the running speed and subbed it for some anatoly strength, i'd take that in a heart beat.

At the moment I wish my superpower would be to help you understand why you are wrong.

Wrong about what? I have already agreed that the speed power would gain you more than $75K a year. But it would be more work than buying something and collecting $200. That is my sole point. You complained that it is too much of a bother for you to get out of the house to buy something to collect the $200 but you are fine with the work (whatever work that may be) to get endorsements and do exhibitions for appearance fees etc that would be needed to get the millions for being fast. For me doing all that for the speed money is too much work and I would rather just sit on my couch and buy something every day to collect $200 for the rest of my life. I am not sure what is "wrong".

Are we really this effing lazy even in a hypothetical?
yes
In 2010, Bolt released a best-selling autobiography that came with a multi-million dollar advance from publisher Harper Collins. Usain also commands appearance fees ranging from $250,000 to as much as $500,000 to compete at track and field events throughout the world.
Have someone else write a book about you and then show up once a year and run a race. You eclipse that $75k pretty quickly. It's honestly more effort to go to the Quickie Mart every morning.

Maybe you can do a better job than me explaining how much easier and more money it is. My powers of persuasion are definitely not my super power.

But then you get fame and will be pestered by people and have to change some things. There are other aspects associated with that super power that can impact your life adversely. Money ain't the end all be all.

I would be quite satisfied with getting $200 a day for doing something I do anyway.

Yes it is more money. But I don't see how it is easier in any way. Going strictly on the effort you have to put in there is no way that earning that speed money is less effort than having $200 appear on your pocket for ordering something on your phone.

How long can you run? If you can run faster than Usain Bolt but only for 200 meters, then how valuable is that in the real world?
For the songs, can you sing while you play or will it break your concentration too much?

These things matter, this is very important stuff here.

How is the two $100 bills a day winning this? If you want money you're going to make way more than $70k a year if you're faster than Usain Bolt. How many times a year would you even have to run to make tens of millions of dollars? Two or three? Imagine a 50 or 60 year old, 265 pound guy running faster than Usain Bolt? You'd instantly be one of the most famous people in the world. To get the two $100 bills you have to buy something. It would be a daily job. Sick? You get nothing unless you go buy something. How many times can you go into the 7-11 for a pack of gum until they tell you they're not breaking your $100 bill anymore? One big race on TV and you're set for life. How much money would the you vs. Bolt PPV net you?

Sleep button - It would be really nice to have but the only thing that changes in your life is sleep.
$100 bills - Chump change for something you'll have to do every single day forever if you want to keep making that money.
Real magic - You guys are sleeping on this. People will get sick of the trick? What trick? There is no trick. You're a wizard Harry.
Any song - It would be cool but basically you're the greatest cover musician in the world. You can't even sing the songs.
Usain speed - 10 seconds in front of a crowd and you're instantly world famous and soon to be rich. Gold medals every 4 years. The Raiders just signed you. Two chicks at once.

You can just run away from them.

I'm thinking there has to be some more use to the making things disappear thing. Can I make a lock disappear if it's securing something?

sleep button - practical
$200 - financial
real magic - supernatural
any song - artistic
usain bolt - athletic

best choice: real magic - nothing like it humans have ever seen. you're a walking god
worst choice: $200 - you can make way more money with any other choice (besides the sleep button)
While you’re right about monetizing the non-sleep choices, that would require work. And who wants fame?

I’d rather retire early with a couple hundo effortless daily spending money.
