Knowshon Moreno (1 Viewer)

He just fell to waivers in one of my leagues. Not sure what to make of it. He seems like a huge bust and I don't think he'll turn it around, but I can't really believe McGahee will last. If I had a scrub to drop for him I would, but have a pretty solid team, so I'll let him sit.
He's been on the WW in my league for 3 weeks now. I (and others) just don't see the value but I might save him as my late season J. Stewart pick heading into the off-season; if he lasts that long.

i was hoping that we could revive some discussion on moreno. the denver post states that mcgahee will have surgery on his hand and could miss up to 4 weeks. they suggest that moreno will be the starter. we all know that moreno doesn't fit fox's offensive scheme. however, neither does tebow. any chance that fox and friends will put tebow in the shotgun and let him loose a bit? i could see moreno as an asset at tebow's side in such an offense. he's very limited as an inside runner, but he's shown to be a good receiver and he's pretty good in space. last year he had 37 catches for 372 yards, which is over 10 yards per catch. this year he has 8 catches for 92 yards.

in particular, i was wondering what y'all thought about his value in ppr leagues. like a lot of y'all my running back corps has been decimated by injuries and he's sitting on the ww in a lot of competitive leagues...

in ppr, he's got rb1 upside. would look at his role to be similar to that of stewart in car with a few 7-10 reception dumpoff days. or moreno will suck, denver will be ok with tebow taking 7 sacks every sunday, and lance ball will continue getting 2 yards a carry.

He just came of the WW in my league by the team that has DMC; interestingly enough he didn't pick up M. Bush who is still out there. I am still in the wait and see mode as I am not confident how Moreno's will be utilized here; I couldn't of said what McGahee's role would of been either with Tebow at the helm. Moreno struggled as a RB this season already and expecting him to get huge receiving numbers with Tebow might be too much. The one wild-card might be his hunger, in that it might be the last chance he has to get out of the doghouse.

Anyone know if he's starting?
Lance Ball is expected to back up Knowshon Moreno in Sunday's game against the Lions. With Willis McGahee (hand) out, Ball has been elevated to the No. 2 running back job. He's set for a fistful of touches, mostly in short yardage or clock-killing situations. The problem is that Tim Tebow figures to vulture the majority of goal-line work, leaving Ball as a desperation flex play only. Source: Denver Post I wouldn't get too excited though. Tebow and Ball will be the goal line options. I don't see Moreno getting more than 15 touches and he hasn't done anything in his career to prove he can do enough with them to make him a viable start in fantasy.

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I thought it was likely McGahee would not be able to go the whole season. I think in ppr(can't say the same in standard) that this is the time people with Moreno have held for. I don't expect short yardage td runs or 25 carries but I can easily see 15-17 carries and a handful if catches with legitimate chances of a td from 10+ yards out or receiving. At the end of the day I think he can fetch 12-18 and that makes him great in bye weeks and flexible/border 2rb after. Tebow changes things and actually helps the chances of additional short catches and I really liked the run after catch moreno had last week. Last year, Moreno was healthy for a few games and had really good stat lines late in the season. I know fix never seemed to use the obvious better back in Carolina when he sat DWIL and played foster and then had Jstew play second fiddle to DWIL. So I think it will be playable for moreno and worth watching the rest of the year

The guy broke a bone in his hand when it got caught in a facemask on a stiff arm. Nice job predicting that.
