(just realized I spelled the name kob instead of Kolb.) I bet that will get a couple responses.

Obviously the match up this week is much tougher then last week. Last week he looked great with Maclin and didn't need jackson but the titans are giving up an average of 13 fantasy points a week.

Personally I think he will be very good because he will want to do everything he can to keep the starting job. What is your take?

Who's "kobs"? :sadbanana:

Edit: Yes you will. :bag:But on the point, I think Kolb can be a top tier QB in this league with the Philly offense. I thought it before the season and nothing he's done so far has shaken me from that. While I don't know if we win this week, I do think Kolb should have a good game. 250 yds 2 tds.

Don't know how Kolb will do stat-wise, but under Reid the Eagles struggle the week prior to their bye (5-6). Would not surprise me if the Eagles as a team lay an egg in a tough road game.

I'm still not convinced the Eagles' o-line doesn't suck. The Titans should be able to tear that line to pieces...and I'm not sure how well Kolb will handle it.

Just looking at the last couple games it looks like Kolb has put up some nice points. Didn't realize about the O-Line.

I see a mediocre week for Kolb. 200 yards and a TD or two, but at least 1, likely 2 picks. Going to be a rough place to go in and steal a W. For the Eagles, I think their chances this week are based primarily on how well the Defense plays. I see a relatively low scoring affair, with Philly stealing it 20-17, but that prediction is one (very possible) CJ move from 24-20 Titans. Should be a good defensive game.

I have Kolb and was planning on starting him this week....and then see the FBG's has Freeman ranked #7 :wall: .... so apparently I am starting the wrong guy.

I think it's interesting that in, what, 5 career starts, here's what he's done:

4 great fantasy lines

1 injury in the 2nd quarter after a rough first quarter in the first game of the year

So while you'd think we would say "Wow, he looks like he could be the real deal" we actually have some type of anti confirmation bias...

Based on Q1 of game 1 vs a tough defense we all made a snap judgment that we were wrong on him, and now, 2 great NFL and fantasy games later, we havent yet thought that perhaps we were right with our first judgment, that he IS good?

I would start him if I were Philly. He's not much, if at all, worse than Vick, and he has to get in there sometime as QB of the Future.

Posted this in the Eagles thread:Quarterback Kevin Kolb was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Eagles' 31-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons Sunday.

Kolb, filling in for the injured Michael Vick, completed 23 of 29 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns. It's the second time in five career starts that Kolb has won the award. He was also honored last season after the Kansas City game.

Also just for fun....according to ProFootballReference, in the same number of games (4) Kolb has a higher completion %, for more yards, and fewer sacks then Vick this season.

I do worry a bit about pressure this game, because the Titans have some swarm tacklers and they have a couple of beast linebackers. Their secondary is susceptible to giving up yardage, but can also make plays.

I'm surprised though he is that low even without D Jackson (I think Eagles can fill in decently here). I would think the threat of Vick breathing down his neck should keep him going. Interesting week for him for sure. I can see some turnovers but also nice yardage, TD's are a bit of a crapshoot.

I'd just struggle to go Cassel or Freeman over him even with the enticing matchups.

I believe the Eagles will play tougher than where the cheatsheets have them projected. Looking at how TEN has fared this year, they have a strong defense against the Run, but their secondary is suspect. They have played against OAK, PIT, NYG, DEN, DAL, and JAX. Of those teams, I would argue that the NYG, DEN, and DAL have strong passing offenses whereas the others do not (Caveat that PIT was under Dixon during that game). In the teams with strong passing offenses, they AVERAGED 378 passing yards per game, 1.7 TDs, and 2 INT.

In my scoring system, that's 21.32 pts for a QB. I'll take it and be happy!

The Eagles are a predominantly passing offense, even without DJax (Which I think is the reason he is lower), the Eagles have some solid depth at WR with Cooper and Avant, not to mention Celek and McCoy who will be involved. If the O-line can give Kolb some time, I think he will be fine.
