It does level the playing field a bit in the NL West. Otherwise, the Dodgers would be able to support a much larger payroll than their divisional rivals.What a mess.I'm not wondering - they were exceedingly careful with how they spent money before the divorce. Not surprising to see them stuck in neutral now. I know a number of players will get big pay raises in arbitration, and I imagine that's where the Dodgers' money will be spent this off-season. Of course, that means that we'll have no pitching staff whatsoever. I wish the matter would be settled quickly and the McCourts would have to sell, but there's no way that is happening.
